G & S Window Washing Inc

My home was damaged by your representatives who were hired to clean gutters and down spouts. While cleaning the gutters and down spouts they destroyed integrated gutter guards, the ice guard heating element and damaged the roof. I spoke with the Supervisor who then came to the house to review the damage. Despite the Supervisor's admissions that they damaged my property, G&S has failed to reimburse me and/or repair my property. A case was filed in small claims court - judgement awarded in the amount of $1,306.00. G&S has defaulted on payment of judgement.

Bob, who was very professional and polite, came out within a couple of days of my call to give me an estimate on the window washing and the gutter cleaning, which he wrote up immediately after inspecting our property. He let me know that he took a picture of our driveway, and that someone would be contacting us soon with an estimate. A woman from the office called me a couple of days later and told me that they would not be able to do my driveway because it is too narrow. I argued that a snow blower could be used effectively, having used it myself this past winter. I know that a snow plow would not have enough room to move the snow, but my snow service two years ago had no problem knocking out my driveway and sidewalks in 20 minutes with two guys and blowers. She replied, "I don't know. He said that there was nowhere for the snow to go. That's what he told me." I asked to speak to the "him" in question (I forgot to ask his name), but after putting me on hold for a minute, the receptionist came back and said that he still said, "No." I asked to please have him call me, because we would be a quick job in the heart of Birmingham, where I am sure they will have plenty of other customer this winter. I have never heard back.

We requested that a quote for first floor and second floor gutters only (no garage). We were having problems with gutter overflow; assuming we had a major clog, or worse a gap between the gutter and the roof. The cleaning didn't take long, and we were assured it was only debris, and there were no gaps to worry about. We're waiting for another heavy rain to get final confirmation that the overflow problem has been solved. However, I gave an A rating to this provider for all of the reasons listed above.

The guys showed up on time, did a great job, were courteous and well-groomed. They quickly and efficiently cleaned all the dog snot and cat snot off the windows and left them clean and streak-free. What more could one ask of window washers?

We got a reminder call the day before, and the workmen showed shortly after 9:00, which was the appointment time. They brought their own ladders, removed the little tree in the downspout, and reassembled and reinforced the affected downspout, then went around the entire house, tightening up the gutters where needed and replacing missing screws. They were polite, professional, young, well-groomed, well-spoken, and good-looking, to boot, and they did the entire job in about a half-hour. I was very happy with both the work and the workers. We hired this company after calling several different companies who did gutter cleaning, but would not do repairs, and we needed the repairs far more than the cleaning. They gave us an estimate of $80 + $7.50 per screw. We initially thought that it was a bit high, but another company gave us a quote of $400 to do the same work, so comparatively, G&S was downright reasonable!

I had my deck stained by G & S window washing sometime around March 2013 timeframe. After only a few months, the stain wore off, which is indicative of applying the stain to wet wood. I also specifically request care and detail be taken to not get stain on lighting fixtures, non wood railing and hot tub. This was not the case as there was stain on all railings and fixtures. When I contacted G & S to ask for a resolution, they told me that a manager would be out to look at my deck and that someone would be in contact with me within a week. Nonetheless, that never happened as promised, and I had to call them myself. G & S did finally have the person who did the job call me back. His standpoint was that the deck looked great when he finished and the wearing off of the stain was due to excessive sun and weather. I was also told that for a “minimal charge” they would come back out to apply another coat of stain. I entertained this idea told him to call me back and tell what the “minimal” charge would be. Of course, I never heard from G & S again. Now I am out over $1000 dollars and my deck is not protected as almost all the stain has completely wore off.

I had called this company to schedule them for the work. I had mentioned a $30 coupon that I had. The work and price was fine. The problem was, after I had paid them, I realized that I over paid and didn't use the coupon. I called the owner Geoff. He would not refund the money, but would only give me a credit for the next service. I was not happy with that solution and told him that he was not acting professionally. He proceeded to call me a vulgar name and hung up on me. He did write me a letter to apologize, but I probably won't use this company again.
