It works up your water pressure in case your sump pump goes and a power failure, that way you don't have to depend on battery for 12 hours and run this generator to it. Its a lot longer than a 12-hour outage. We've had them before for 3 days. This way the water won't come up and flood the basement even though the power is out. I was very satisfied with them. I bought it brand new. Some places they want you to buy theirs but this place was good. I was able to get it at the internet a lot cheaper. They hooked up clean. They cleaned up anything that they made a mess with. They took the old pump with them.
Description of Work: I just had them install a water pump back-up system.

When I woke up to a kitchen sink full of nasty black water, and when plunging it only created a bigger nasty smelly mess we called Brent. He was able to come that afternoon and unplug the pipes. Very happy with the service.
Brent was very quick to repond to the message I left and was able to come out to check out my problem the same day. He was very professional and helped me understand the root cause of the issue. Although he confirmed I do need extensive work to replace the underground drain, I felt comfortable and confident in his assessment.

We agreed on and I was invoiced for $2390, they signed a waiver of lien releasing any and all claims contigent upon payment of $2390. They were paid $2390 and after payment they want an additional $340. Beware of this company, they demand more money after they have invoiced and been paid. They are calling and harassing me on a regular basis, the owner Brent has even gone as far as to threaten placing a lien on the home even after they signed a waiver of lien. Very unethical and possibly even illegal, obviously not very intelligent.

Response from Emergency Drain and Plumbing Co. LLC
Mr (removed member name) and I did have a written agreement originally. However, prior to the job starting, I questioned whether the pipe size in the agreement would be sufficient to support the fixture it was serving. It became evident that we needed to increase the pipe size. In doing so it would incur an additional $340 in material costs. When I informed the member, he agreed and told me to install the pipe that was going to work for his fixture. After the job was complete, I invoiced the customer. I was told that his bank was going to be paying the bill, and that if I wanted payment, I would need to fill out several documents and apply for payment. One of the documents was a waiver of lein. I questioned him, about filling out a waiver of lein prior to receiving payment, yet I was told this is the only way to be paid. So, I did what I needed to do to receive payment even though this process was never discussed before I invoiced him. When I finally received payment approximately 4 months later, it didn't include the additional $340. I tried contacting the member twice by text message only to receive no response. I then tried calling on consecutive days one time per day. He continued to ignore my calls. Finally, I sent a text explaining that if he continued to ignore my request to resolve this issue I would have no alternatives but to file a lein. To this day, (outside of his complaint) the customer has never stated there was work left undone or that we didn't finish the work as requested. I find it very difficult to believe that he would sign off on the very bank documents I completed for payment if the work wasn't completed. Further, we completed the work as requested timely, professionally and within plumbing code. There wasn't a single issue brought to my attention regarding workmanship. These "problems" arose only after it became time for payment. What is happening here is the(removed member name)is hiding behind a waiver of lein that I was mandated to sign prior to being paid and now twisting the facts to suit his refusal to pay for work completed. My mistake in this transaction is trusting that I was dealing with a customer who was trust worthy enough to pay the bill as agreed upon. My alternate solution would be that (removed member name) do what any person who entered into a verbal contract would do and pay the bill.

While I appreciate the feedback about our service, it's hard for me to remember a job that was two years ago. I would question why this review took two years to write, and weather or not it was even our company that performed the services.

I was very pleased with the service I received from Emergency Drain and Plumbing. I called and left a message requesting a call back and Brent returned my call within the hour. I explained that my sub-pump was not working properly and was filling up with water but did not overflow yet. Brent explained he was currently at another job location and would be out within a couple of hours. Brent called when he was on his way and I found him to be very pleasant and professional. The sub-pump was replaced in a short amount of time and has been working properly. The cost of the job included the new sub-pump, labor and the 25% discount from Angie's List. I asked some questions regarding future plumbing concerns and I felt he gave me honest answers to my questions. I have not had the occasion to use a plumming service in the past and I wasn't sure who to call. I was very happy with the prompt service I received and would definitely call again regarding any future plumbing problems.

He was wonderful. He came in and told us what was going on. He has done other plumbing work for us. He didn't bad-mouth the other company over the phone. He was here for 2 hours and he only charged for 1 hour. He was very professional. He gave me a totally different opinion on the job and he never bad-mouthed the other company. The other company dug up the basement and he said that he could have used a camera so we didn't have a huge hole in our basement. He was fabulous. I always use him and I wouldn't use anyone else.

They took the issue very seriously, and were extremely professional. The job required two trips out, and they made it clear that I was a top priority. The house is older, and they had to break through cement and a wood pillar to get to one of the sources (basement was "finished" before I purchased the house). The first guy that came out (Sean) was very pleasant and professional. The owner (Brent) had to come out this morning to finish with Sean, and they took care of everything relatively quickly. In addition, they cleaned up impeccably after themselves. I am very glad I went with this company, and recommend them highly. I am very satisfied with their service, professionalism, and price.

I called Brent around 8:00am, he answered phone immediately, made an appointment, called about 20 min before he arrived, and arrived on time. The Cleanout ( opening of the sewer line outside the house) is under the deck. Brent had to access the sewer system either from bathroom or roof. To avoid making a mess in the bathroom, Brent went back to his place to get a ladder and went to work from the roof. The job took about an hour. After the job done, Brent took time to explain everything in detail. Highly recommended. The reason it was $195.00 is that there is no access of sewer system from ground level. If your Cleanout is outside the house and no need to do the job on roof, the cost is $125.00.

First it was an emergency call after hours so that reflects the price minus 20% for Angies list people. We had water coming up from both floor drains in the basement and could not keep up with the water coming in. We were using a shop vac and a rented pump, when the guy came in the back door and saw us. He quickly set up and started to snake the access drain. He ran the snake into the drain twice with two different size tips. He explained why the two different tips were needed.(which no one else used) Then when we heard a swoosh everything started to recede quickly. He said that he went out 80 feet aprox. to get the main clog. That surprised all of us. He was here maybe a total of an Hr.

They were awesome. What can I say, I have hired them in the past and they did a great job. This time they even went above and beyond in so many ways. They were so generous of heart and high integrity. Believe me, I am very particular but these guys are simply the best! I highly highly recommend them. And not to paint a false picture, they do generally charge a normal fee, but even then I have found them extremely competent and high integrity.
Description of Work: They were snaking a drain which had been done about 3 months ago. They informed me there was a problem beneath the cement basement floor and it would have to be dug up. My wife and I told them we could not afford it. Amazingly, they called the next day and said they had some volunteers to help out and they would do it for free. ! week later they came in and completely repaired our problem for free.

The gas valve and the piping was not up to code and the flute piping was not connected to the vent hood. These were all potentially dangerous things that could have harmed my family and me. I'm absolutely livid. My husband had headaches for three days prior to the recognition of the problem. I've discussed my concerns with two different sources in the industry, and I feel my concerns are valid. The owner said that this wasn't a serious problem, and that is what made me mad. So far he has offered to pay me back for half of the cost to have another company correct this issue. We will see if that happens. Honestly, I think he could do a little bit better and subtract the cost of all the labor, but I'm happy to recoup anything at this point and make my concerns know. I make mistakes in my job, but at least I own up to them. He told me the employee had screwed the vent on and that was not true. COMMENTS TO RESPONSE - I received a certified letter which included a Postal Money Order for $225.00 from the business. I paid a second plumbing company $751.00 to fix the problem he left me with, so this $225.00 is just a dent into my costs. I was willing to chalk this up to a bad experience and just let the issue go until I read his response and pondered over our prior conversation in which he had called me "cheap" and said I had told him I didn't have any money(during this conversation he mentioned that he saw my Angie's List posting). I am shocked and angered at his conversation and response. I can only say that his response demonstrates a reactionary and outlandish attempt to cover up the reality of what actually transpired. First, I never stated that I was "tight on money". I was told that if I wanted the flue exhaust piping changed from the existing 3" to 4" that there would be an additional cost, but that this did not have to be done as the 3" was existing. I asked what needed to be done, and was told the 3" did not have to be changed, so I told the man not to change the flue exhaust piping. I was never told of any "necessary corrections", which I now understand to be code violations, and never stated to leave connections as they were. After the discussion regarding the flue exhaust piping, the man did his work and I paid him. I had a company out two weeks later to clean my air ducts and the employees noticed that the flue exhaust venting was off of the hot water heater. They also pointed out that there was duct tape on the flue exhaust piping that was stretched and had small holes in it. I contacted the plumber and he said he would send someone out. He stated that having the exhaust flue piping not connected was not a problem. I thought about this and was suspect of his work, so I called him and told him not to send anyone out. I hired another company. The second company told me, as have other sources in the industry that I have consulted with that, 1)the flue exhaust venting should have been screwed into the hot water heater, 2)there should not have been duct tape on the flue venting as the venting gets hot and the duct tape can melt, 3) a tee and drip leg valve should have been installed, and 4) a ball valve should have been installed. I guess I should have know all of this myself when I hired this company, however, I left the industry and code standards up to them and not me. I learned the hard way. I feel the responsibility lies with the professional to provide accurate and safe work. I feel, as well as others in the industry, that the flue exhaust piping not being connected to the hot water heater was a safety concern. The fact that he is indicating that I wanted things left the way they were is an outright lie and an attempt to blame me for his shortcuts and not completing the work properly. Why was the work just not completed as code standards require? I understand I was told and agreed that the 3" flue exhaust venting could remain, but what about duct tape on flue exhaust venting, and valves just not installed as required? Furthermore, I reviewed the website for this company. The website indicates that the company is a member of the Better Business Bureau, however, when I contacted them, they knew nothing of this company.
Description of Work: We purchased a 40 gallon hot water heater from them. They installed it and changed the galu pipe to copper.

[member name removed], I am sorry our business transaction has gone this way. I have been in business for a very long time, and I pride myself on accommodating my customers requests. In our business transaction, prior to starting the job, you made it very clear that you were tight on money and that you did not want to spend anything more than the price I quoted you over the phone. It is one of the toughest things I do in business - try and give a price for a job that is unseen, and then get to the job when nothing is as it was explained including deficiencies that should be corrected. These necessary corrections were brought to your attention and you restated your desire to not spend any more money. You then requested that we make the connections to the water heater exactly as they were when we arrived on the job. When you called a few days later to express your concerns, I offered to come back and make any necessary corrections and you again, refused. ......... I could go on and on; however, I truly believe my only mistake was to accommodate your request to not spend any more money than was quoted for the job - before I was given an opportunity to fully estimate the true cost of the problem at hand.

I called Brent at Emergency Drain and Plumbing. He was very professional on the phone and he got to the house very quickly. (It took only about 1/2 hour) I had a leak from the dishwasher water supply that had water on the kitchen, and front room. It was leaking into the basement also. I am a landlord and was not there at the time, but he called me when he had stopped the leak. He also provided a name of a company that could assist me on an insurance claim. I thought the cost of $220 was high, but it was after 5 PM (around 6 PM) and he let me know on the phone that he could offer no discounts at that time. He was there for about an hour. Give or take 1/2 hour. I have not had to use plumbers very often, so I guess I was not aware that that they made over $100 an hour, but I'm not surprised. He again was very professional and I would call him again in an emergency.

Wonderful professional service!
Description of Work: This was the second time I have used this company in a matter of about two months maybe. The first time I had a drain snaked that kept backing up. This time it was the sewer line backed up and I had them out to snake that. I called several companies this time to come out but they were all too busy and could not get to me until days later, they were also more expensive. I was able to reach Emergency Drain on the second try and they were able to come out in a matter of hours. It was such a bad day! I was so thankful that they were able to come out same day.

Brent was extremely responsive in addressing our issues. He came the next day after the end of the labor day weekend and fixed the issue on the spot. We thought his price was extremely fair. The resulting work will begin being water tested tomorrow.
Description of Work: The owner, Brent and his assistant determined that we had two issues which were causing a leak from our tub/shower upstairs into our kitchen below. First, there was water leaking from the body of the faucets themselves. Second, water was flowing through the faucet and spout holes into the space behind the tub. They repacked the faucets and caucked the two faucets and spout. Brent expected this to fix the issue, but advised us to use the tub and if it begins to leak again, we will need to replace the faucets and recauck the tub.
