Team Bob's Heating Cooling Plumbing

After reading favorable ratings for this company (which now I don’t believe), I hired them to fix 2 leaky faucets. This is pretty much a “plumbing 101” repair. The repair took less than an hour including several trips out to the work van. The final bill came to over a whopping FOUR HUNDRED dollars. I questioned it immediately and called the company the next day. Although I asked them repeatedly what their hourly charge was, they would not tell me. The parts came to less than $10 at Home Depot. As a widow, i’ve been through this before and am sick and tired of companies that take advantage of women. They refunded some of my money and never offered an explanation as to why I was overcharged so much.

From office staff to technician- everyone went well.

Appointment went very smoothly. He called first and came on time within the window. It was a simple problem to fix and he was very accommodating with talking to our home warranty company about the repairs. He also used a payment app which made payment smooth, too. I think they charge a bit high (about $120 just to come out) but HVAC is in high demand.

The technician came out on time, and phoned when he was in route. He listened to my description of the problem, and proceeded to investigate the furnace and only did what was necessary to repair it. (no pressure to buy additional parts) The technician was very professional during his service call. I did have to pay a premium for a after hours service call, but that was expected.

Overall, just fine. We're so glad we took the plunge just before the cold and damp weather hit us. The initial salesman, Rick Lennox, was confident, knowledgeable, and made smart recommendations that the competitor (another dealer of the same brand) did not even mention. And he knew about all the rebates which took a nice chunk out of the overall price. I had used Team Bob's prior to the major upgrade. My only advice is be careful installing a system on a Friday. The installer had to finish on Monday. Not a big deal...just a little inconvenient.

Very well. Installer seemed very seasoned/polite/professional. Got done in less time than scheduled. All good. One minor issue which was probably not the fault of Team Bob, was that the county (Benzie) inspection was rescheduled without my being updated. I spent a morning at home waiting for an inspector who wasn't coming. I don't know if there's something that could have been done to prevent that.

Cody came out this Saturday and did a fine job on the replacements. He has great customer skills and was nice to have in the house to fix these problems. He explained the problems with worked to replace all three. He even spend a few minutes to look at the old water softener and indicated that it was totally dead and was an antique and was leaking so we need to have it replaced too. The previous owner of the Hayes had it bypassed and was leaking.

Very well. Completed the task in a timely manner, followed instructions, noted everything and sent it via email.

Installation went fine, but the cost of $422.00 we thought was outrageous.

Work was professional. The guy (sorry I don't remember his name) tolerated "help" from my 5-year-old grandson.

The person that came out showed me how the pump was wired to the furnace so that if the pump didn't work, the furnace wouldn't work so that it wouldn't flood my finished basement with water. He did not have a pump that was wired like this, but put one in that would allow the furnace to run even if the pump didn't work by bypassing this feature. Of course, the 'new' pump did not work and I had more water going into carpet than I would have imagined. I called them to come out again and they put the correct pump in this time, that did work. Of course, I paid for all of this and ended up having to clean up a lot of water in the basement. In the fall, October of 2013, I went to start the furnace. It wouldn't run again. I called Team Bob's and it appeared the core was bad. No diagnostics were performed and the furnace was only about 5 years old, still under warranty. They recommended I purchase a new furnace and following up on the warranty would be useless. It was amazing how fast they got a salesman out to the house even though I was less than convinced that I needed a new furnace and could just ignore the warranty that was still in place on the old furnace. They quoted me an outrageous price for a replacement. I ended up going with another company and they DID get part of the new furnace paid for by the warranty on the old furnace. Also, they performed some diagnostics that Team Bobs did not. I did end up with a new furnace, but it was MUCH less given that they worked with the manufacturer on the warranty. The company I had come in thought the problem started when Team Bobs put the incorrect condensation pump on the old furnace and water backed up into the furnace. Given that I hadn't had any problems prior to that, I would tend to agree. I will not use them in the future for any work and mentioned this situation to the city inspector when he came out for the final inspection.

They said they would be here in the AM and they were here at 10:00 AM. Half hour later AC was up and running. Very satisfied. By the way, they were the HVAC that installed the unit in 2003. Dig a good job then also.

The service call went very well. He checked my thermostat that I had concerns about because of dry wall work and duct cleaning that had been done in my house...I wanted to make sure that there was no accumulation of dust in the thermostat, even though it had been working fine. Christopher Abshire, the serviceman, thoroughly explained all the checklist items he had done and also explained why their fee was a bit higher than others I had researched. The items he completed definitely justified the additional cost and he also left me with a clean furnace filter since my existing filter was already clean. He explained the difference between what some companies charge and his company by showing me what other companies do...which is minimal vs. what his company does. This made me feel much better about the price of the service. Safety is a primary concern of mine and he also pointed out the advantages of my Goodman furnace. The only disadvantage I have found with the unit is the difficulty in finding the correct size filter (14x24x1) which I only seem to be able to find at Ace hardware or online. He also answered my questions about types of filters and furnace efficiency. I was extremely impressed with his professionalism and ability to explain the things I didn't understand. I would definithely recommend this young man to any other customers!

We were very happy with the service that Team Bob's provided and will use them again and recommend them to family and friends. The Service Technician Mike was very knowledgeable, punctual and courteous. They are not the cheapest but you always get what you pay for.

They took readings on all parts and safety settings They told us their parameters and provided us a status - checked all the motors and gave us an opinion on the reliability of the furnace and humidifier. He was given the opportunity to replace the humidifier if needed, however he told us it wasn't needed and that the filter was even fine without replacement.

Team Bob's installed my furnace and heat pump a few years ago. I have them come to inspect the equipment once in the fall and once in the spring. This was a scheduled inspection for the furnace. He called to give let me know he would be there in 15 minutes. He was on time, very polite and professional. He inspected the equipment inside and outside the house and replaced the filter. I have and will continue to highly recommend Team Bob's to anyone considering a new furnace or cooling/air conditioning equipment.

I have been using Team Bob's since we bought our home in '06. I have never been dissatisfied with their service. They call me (instead of the other way around) to schedule my service. Their prices are extremely reasonable. And I have had the same service technician every year, which not only confirms my belief he works for a quality company, but is also a reassurance that I continue to see the same person year after year who knows my home and my furnace. I wouldn't take my business anywhere else.

Team Bob's has provided annual maintenance for our furnace and AC for several years. Today, their technician was prompt, courteous and did a thorough job. He checked numerous components including, but not limited to the cycling, heat exchanger, blower, flame sensor, ignition, burner, fan, wiring and controls. As always, we are totally pleased with the service this company provides.

Our water heater wasn't working and we called Team Bob's in the morning to come out and take a look at it. They were here within two hours of the phone call to correct the problem with our water heater. The service techs Jerry and Stewart were very professional and explained the problem. They also told us of the charges up front before the work was performed so there were no surprises with the bill. We trust Team Bob's and know that the job will be done right every time!
