Bodamer Brothers Flooring

Terribly. I made a large deposit upon order of the cabinets and flooring. Wood was delivered to my home for acclimating. We were doing our own demolition, so I stayed in close contact with Bodamer Bros to stay abreast of the cabinet delivery. We did not want to do demolition too early and be without a kitchen over long. I was told that everything was progressing on schedule. My last contact prior to delivery date was the week prior, when I was assured that the cabinets were ready to ship. We proceeded with demolition. Cabinets were to be delivered on Monday with installation to begin at that time, too. But - on Saturday, just 2 days prior to delivery date - I received a phone call. Cabinets were delayed - INDEFINITELY. What? Why? On further questioning, I learned that the manufacturer would not release the cabinets because Bodamer was in extreme arrears in their payments to the manufacturer. Mr. Bodamer did not know when he would bring the account current, so could not say when the cabinets would be delivered. And, no, he could not refund my deposit. He had no money. I was livid. I went into the store to chat with him. He threatened to call the police to remove me from the premises, as he had nothing more to say to me, and he could not refund my money. There were no other customers in the shop, just me and my sister, who came as moral support and as a witness to what was being said. Ultimately, the cabinets were delivered. My salesperson installed them at no charge, and did a fairly good job, though not perfect. He was a salesperson, not an installer. The wood floors were installed by "professionals" hired by Bodamer. A very poor installation. I still have many, many issues with the floors. I suspect I was given substandard wood, and the installers did very poor work. There are so many gaps between boards, both horizontally and vertically. Extremely unhappy with the floors. I was originally supposed to have all this work done in mid-June, but it was not completed until nearly the end of October. I was without a kitchen that entire time. Delays can be expected in many remodeling projects, but since I was in such close contact and was told that the cabinets had been shipped and we were on schedule, only to learn that it was a complete deception, I was understandably upset. I rated a D for quality because the cabinet quality is actually pretty nice, but the floors are horrible. As you'll see in the pics, some gaps are so wide that they extended past the tongue and groove. I gave pricing a D as well, because I certainly overpaid for the quality of work and customer service I received, Every other experience is rated an F. I could never recommend this company to anyone, for any purpose. Some people have said that Dan Bodamer is a very nice man. I did not see this side of him. He was rude, condescending and combative, but most of all, deceitful. Terrible experience that still hurts.

Store personnel were great. Helped me understand carpet grades and I got exactly what I wanted. They came out the following week and removed my old carpet and installed the new. Dan (owner) came out a few weeks later when I decided to do my living room also. He brought samples, measured and had helpful suggestions. When the order came in several weeks later, the crew spent two days removing old carpeting and installing the plank floor. Shane and his crew were expert at what they were doing, and the job looked great. Everything went well and I am very happy with my new floors.

We went with Bodamer's based on word of mouth although we did shop around and find better prices on the same flooring. We had a few issues with the installation crew that I don't care to mention on a website. We know that most if not all homes don't have perfectly squared walls but the vinyl floor layers were off and the patterns looked crooked. The vinyl was cut slightly too short to meet the door wall, but not enough to have it redone. We know our bathroom had some issues with crooked walls but we were assured it would be fine to install when we picked this particular pattern. Well, it had to be redone. Bodamer's did not want to do this for us until I brought up the issues with the installers. It was redone and turned out way better and we were satisfied.

The whole process was outstanding. I was hesitant to go there after seeing the bad review, however a company's website of a product we were looking for listed them as the only carriers. We had been to several other stores in the area and out of everywhere, Bodamer Brothers was the most straightforward, helpful, and delightful to work with. They were the only ones who would give me an exact breakdown of what everything would cost and all their prices had total job listed instead of everywhere else, price didn't include pad, labor, etc... Very transparent and honest compared to other places, which I was not expecting. Kurtis the salesman went above and beyond, researched many many products for me, measured house perfectly( no overmeasuring or overordering matierials). He was also very helpful, honest, and nonpressuring. I met Dan Bodamer several times in the store and he was extremely nice and helpful as well. They both did everything to make sure we were well taken care. The install of hardwood, carpet, and vinyl went flawlessly and turned out beautiful! They really transformed our home. Glad we took the chance, highly appreciate everything they did and strongly recommend them!

We ordered a floor from Bodamer Brothers. At the time we ordered the floor Mr. Bodamer said we would get a 5% discount for paying cash and that the full payment must be made in advance. After waiting six weeks for delivery and having our old floor removed, the flooring was nothing like the sample we picked from. When we told Mr. Bodamer that we did not want that floor he initially tried to bully us into having the floor installed saying" that is a beautiful floor and I have the same floor in my house". When we rejected the floor he informed us that there was a 25% restocking fee if we didn't pick a floor from the same distributor. We were given three other choices for that distributor, none were acceptable. We went looking for another floor and found one that we liked at a competitor. We then contacted Bodamer's and asked for a refund accepting the 25% restocking fee and the cost of removal of our old floor. Mr. Bodamer refused to refund our money and called the dealer where we found the other floor "the biggest crook in town" plus made other very disparaging remarks about that dealer. He told us that we had a contract with us (which we never received a copy of.) He then told us that he would get us any floor that we picked out from anyone else but "that crook". We went to other flooring dealers in town and found another floor that we liked. The floor was also priced lower than the original floor. Bodamers obtained a sample carton of the flooring so that we could see it in the house. When I picked up the sample carton, I asked if the distributor had enough of the floor in stock to do our house and was told that they did have enough. We called Bodamers the same day and told them that the floor was exactly what we wanted and to order the floor. We waited five weeks for delivery of the flooring with numerous promises of delivery coming and going. When the floor arrived, it was a significantly darker color than the sample carton. We decided to have it installed anyway since we had been living with subfloor for such a long time. I called Bodamers prior to the start of the installation to check on the heat registers (we had asked for flush registers when the original measuring was done and Mr. Bodamer had agreed that flush registers were the way to go and would be installed.) The installer was very gracious and did a good job of installation. When asked about the flush registers he told us that Mr. Bodamer had told him that we wanted drop in registers and that they were "on order". He also told us that he could not install flush registers once the floor was down and that we could only have drop in registers at that point. After the installation was complete, I sent a certified letter to Mr. Bodamer asking that he refund us the difference between the quote price and the actual price of the flooring based on the price of the floor from his competitor and the actual material provided (the quote was for 868 sq. ft. and 803 sq. ft. were installed plus three thresholds that were quoted were not provided or installed.) He refused to accept delivery of the letter and it was returned to us unopened. Bodamers has not provided us with a final statement to date. We believe that he owes us over $1800.00. We will NEVER do business with Bodamer Brothers again and advise others to be very wary of their shady business practices and to never pay the full price in advance for anything from this business.

They were good and answered all my questions professionally. I was pretty pleased with them and I was even able to get the owner of the company to come out. I would use them again in the future.

They were horrible. They took the money, boarded the cabinets and held up the countertop work. They finished the cabinets and I paid them in full. I also had to pay for the subcontractors that they used for flooring. They had my money with them and I had to stop the project because they held up the countertop work for ten weeks. I am thinking of taking this issue to the court. Their price was extremely high compared to others. I will grade them low on all categories.
