Overall we were pleased. Contacted the Dr. Flue office and was explained the charges upfront and scheduled a day for them to arrive and inspect. They give an actual 2 hr. window a few days out from the visit and call to inform/confirm. The guys communicated well about how close to being on time they were going to be. They did an evaluation, took some pictures of the area, and it looked obvious that we needed a new chimney cap as suspected. An estimate was given for parts and labor during the visit, and we agreed to proceed with the order and installation. About two weeks passed and they again scheduled a day/time to come out and install our cap. They got arrived and spent a good deal of time on the installation, around 90 minutes or so. During this installation they discovered we actually had two caps, one apparently installed over the other, neither working or doing it's job. They took some additional photos and I inspected from the ground after they left. Price was what was quoted to us and the quality of work seems good. Since this time it has rained a fair bit and we have had no return symptoms. We are considering them for additional services.

We recently purchased a new house with two existing gas fireplaces. I could not get either to work. We called Doctor Flue to schedule and inspection and to recommend other possible options. The service person that came did a very thorough inspection. They got both fireplaces working and explained to me how each worked. They did an inspection of each fireplace and also took pictures with a camera so I could see exactly what was going on in the chimney. They spent some time giving me many options and recommendations. No pushy sales and no pushy unnecessary work. A great overall experience. My wife and I are making a thoughtful decision on what we want to do to upgrade and when. I would definitely recommend Doctor Flue based on my experience.

Interaction with Doc & Mike during the initial inspection phase was an excellent experience. The positive experience began with the scheduling of the inspection appointment with their office, the friendly and professional service over the phone, and flawless follow-up in setting the appointment. Mike & Doc did a very thorough inspection including camera inspection of the entire chimney pipe in addition to the firebox, which led to the decision to install a wood burning stove with new liner and cap in the subsequent consultation. The installation appointment was scheduled equally professionally by their home office. Doc & Mike returned to do the job on the scheduled date and time precisely, with all of the right equipment, tools, safety equipment, and proper protective items to protect our home during the install. The services required about 5- 6 hours versus the planned four due to some complications in opening the front of the firebox to insert the new stove, but all finished well. They stayed to educate me on how to properly start and maintain a fire, dos and don'ts, and general care considerations. A very professional outfit that I will use again, and recommend to friends.

I called to get a cap for my chimney and an estimate for possible repair to chimney structure. They were very prompt and courteous and took pictures of the top of the chimney so I could see what they were talking about when explaining repair options. There were no repairs that day but they do charge a fee for coming out and providing a quote, so be prepared. The quote for repairs took a week longer to get than promised but seems reasonable. I am currently reviewing their quote.

The job went as well as could be expected, on time, and on estimate. Both Doc and Mike were very respectful of the property when they needed to come inside. The work to be perfromed and the work actually done were both explained in detail. I found the photos particularly useful in evaluating source of the leak and the general condition of the chimney.

Kevon was early, completed the job in a timely fashion and was very clean. He took time to explain option for solving problem of draft.

As always arrived on time! Friendly, courteous & put booties on so they wouldn't track in outdoor debris. Laid out floor most - set to cleaning. Reviewed "state' of fireplace at billing. I did give an A+ if I could!

Kevin from Dr. Flue was early, introduced himself and his assistant. They performed thorough inspection & gave a detailed video. They cleaned our chimney & answered all of my questions. I was impressed.

The team was very thorough and communication from both the office and technicians were outstanding. Upon realizing they were ahead of schedule, the technicians called ahead to let us know that they would be earlier than expected. Overall a great experience, nice to see that in this day and age that there are some that still truly care about customer service. Truly a top shelf organization to deal with in my opinion. The folks who came out were extremely courteous and professional. They inspected the fireplace & chimney inside and out. During the process they were open to questions and explained how to best use the fireplace (which was great since we've never had a house with a fireplace before). I was very impressed with them.

Kevon from Dr. Flue recommended several stove options at various price points. No hard sell, punctual, lots of explanations and straightforward, clear comparisons between brands and models. Because existing chimney connector dimension didn't optimally match my stove selection dimension, Kevon fabricated a perfect platform for the stove after carefully verifying field measurements. A plus: Kevon was able to honor my request for an expedited delivery and installation. The stove cost was comparable to the best cost I found from online vendors for the same make and model stove. This experience was excellent in every way. The end result: very pleased, happy to recommend Dr. Flue, and would do business with them again.

Dr. Flue, Nick, was prompt, efficient, knowledgable and professional in all respects. After the inspection he said we did not need a cleaning. Gave us excellent advice, explained what services/work we could have done, and offered to send us a quote. No pressure, no unneeded services, just outstanding and thorough inspection and advice.

Technician showed up and carefully inspected our gas fireplace which is in our basement. Determined existing configuration was unsafe and provided several options as to what we could do to install a working fireplace. The technician went above and beyond to look into all possible options for our basement. He explained in detail all options. They provided excellent follow up by both phone and email in order to answer all my questions. We are completely satisfied with their assessment and recommendations.

Kevin showed expert knowledge during the quote process & n/ fire. I wanted the most knowledgable to do the work. The whole job went as planned & he was over the top w/ cleanliness & professional courtesy.

He returned in a couple of weeks and, as before, was very punctual. He and his team did a great job, leaving not a trace of dirt in or around the house. They took the time to detail out exactly what they were doing, answer questions, and even make the kids smile along the way. We will use them every time we need our chimney cleaned in the future!

l called and set up appt to have Dr. Flue inspect a wood burning fireplace and stand alone wood burner on my newly purchased c1828 home. To be honest, I was expecting the worst (but, of course, hoping for the best). They called me ahead of my appointment to tell me that they were running about 20 minutes behind, which I appreciated. The two techs who arrived looked hopelessly young --- honestly, I almost laughed out loud when I saw them. But, I'll tell you, any apprehension I had melted away quickly when I saw them get to work. Totally professional, and they really seemed to know their stuff. I did not feel like they were trying to up-sell me or anything. They inspected both the fireplace and the wood burner. FP checked out fine, which is saying something for a (nearly) 185 year home. At my request, they installed a new damper (old one was sketchy, and they were able to confirm it was showing its age once they inspected it). The wood burner will need more extensive repair, for which they are preparing a quote. They've level set my expectations that this could be costly --- oh well, it is an old chimney I guess. The wood burner chimney has 2 flues and they were both uncapped. The techs put very attractive and high quality caps on them which I anticipate will protect the chimney from water and vermin. They told me outright that it didn't make sense to clean that chimney today; they would take care of that when they came back for the bigger repairs to be made. I appreciated the fact that they did not perform unnecessary services; I really like that in a service company! All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Flue. Their techs are knowledgeable, professional and work efficiently. They took the time to explain exactly how my chimneys were set up and worked.

October 6, 2012 -Dr. Flue installed a new crown on our chimney. Dr. Flue was very thorough and performed a very professional job. And in the very near future will be installing an insert for our chimney. I would recommend them to my friends and family for their work. Keith M. Jordan

Did work at our convenience. They were on time, did excellent work, cleaned up so you wouldn't have known they'd been here. I would recommend them to friends.

"The owner of the company showed up at 5pm on Monday October the 29th as scheduled. He examined my fireplace and explained it was a gas - no ventilation - fireplace. He then explained that he was legally not allowed to perform service on this unit and that I would need to call the fireplace manufacture. Doctor Flue was at my house about 5 to 10 minutes - did no service - and charged me 128 dollars. I called the Doctor Flue the following day and politely asked for a discount on this service charge. I do not expect a freebee, but I do not believe that 128 dollars was a fair price for such a quick service when no service could be performed. I received a callback from "DOC" on Wednesday the 31st. Doc told me there was nothing he could do about the service fee. He would lose money if he didn't charge me the full price. My experience with the company was unsatisfactory. I would not recommend this company. What stops them from showing up, saying they can't perform the work, and then charging 128 dollars??? I will report my incident to our local better business bureau, which is something that I have never felt the need to do before. I'm sorry that I have to write up a negative review, but the owner believes this charge was fair. I wholeheartedly disagree.
