Wow, wow, wow! I am not easily impressed when it comes to customer service, but I am fully impressed! From our exchanges in Angie's List, I could tell scheduling would be easy. The office staff member scheduled a day that worked well for me and was able to give me an exact appointment time - not some stupid window I would have to wait around for. The crew was right on time - even a few minutes early - and waited for me to pull in the driveway before they did (I hate when work vehicles block the driveway for lunchtime appointments because then I have to park on the street - so I really appreciated that they waited for me to invite them into the driveway). Mike and Joe were fantastic! They were very friendly and put on booties while in the home so they didn't make a mess on the floor. They did a very quiet and thorough inspection and cleaned off the gas logs. They put tarps down to protect my home from any mess and left the place spotless. Mike and Joe are so enthusiastic about the work they do and it put a smile on my face. They were thrilled to give my fireplace a clean bill of health and tell me no additional work was needed to make it safe or operational. Since I'm certainly not going to stick my head in a chimney or know what I'm looking at, it would be easy for a company to lie and have me hire them for a "necessary repair", but they were actually quite pleased with the quality of the fireplace and didn't try to sell me anything or get me to add on a service. They walked me through the use of the fireplace and answered all of my questions. They were very conscious of both the aesthetic aspect and safety aspect and I appreciated that very much. I got to pay with a credit card on the spot (no annoying bill to get later) and they sent me photos of the inspection. The appointment took exactly one hour - just as they'd promised. I could not have asked for anything more from this company!

I received an email confirmation from her which included a picture of the person who was coming to my house. Jake and Jason arrived on time and were very professional. They used a camera for the inspection. The work was good. Two individuals came. My wife was here when they came but I had a good feedback. They were very prompt. They were punctual and thorough. They were very neat. They cleaned up and answered all the questions. They gave us a good report. I really liked their service. We were using another provider before to do our sweeping of the chimney. I switched over to the wood-burning type in the fall of 2013 and I had the chimney swept and inspected before that. Everything was fine and then I had the same company come back out in the spring to sweep and in the process of doing that sweep, they told me I had some problems with the chimney and it was going to be $3000 to get it fixed and when I asked them how could that happen when they came out two times before in the last two years and saw no problems and they said that they must have missed it. I was kind of thinking it was an effort to get additional business. I really looked for a second opinion. The couple of people that did home inspections said they would contract it out to a chimney sweep company so that was when I decided to go with Doctor Flue. I plan to use them next year. Their price to sweep was comparable to their competitors but I did request a more thorough inspection and I did not have anything else to compare the inspection to. The sweep usually costs $180.

Arrived on time, were polite, showed initial pictures of interior flue, waited while owner decided cleaning, showed pictures after, showed example of collar replacement. Will send quote to owner, polite and thorough, no mess. I did not watch closely, trusted them.
