A1 Bargain Plumbing

We had been trying to fix it ourselves for a while. We can fix many things, but plumbing is not one of our skills. So, I decided to join Angie's List and try it out. I chose A1 Bargain Plumbing and I'm glad I did. He had the job done quickly and professionally for a fair price. I called in the morning and he was there shortly after noon. If I have any other plumbing problems, I will call him again.

They were very professional. Called before he came over and explained to me what he was doing throughout the job. Tested the job when it was complete to make sure there were no leaks. Will definitely use him again.

Kitchen sink clogged. Kevin and his son did a great job clearing the clog and cleaning up after themselves. They also explained everything they were doing along the way. I couldn't be happier with their service and expertise.

He came out promptly when I called, and figured out the problem, and took care of it immediately.

He installed the faucet and explained the process from start to finish which really put me at ease. He is very patient, professional and knowledgeable about his profession. He gave me tips on how to maintain the faucets and even fixed a clogged sink he noticed for free! He told me to keep an eye on the faucet to see if it leaked for the next few days and I noticed another leak coming from another area on the drain from the tub 2 days later. I called him and he came over the next day, and saw that the drain tube needed tightening. He promptly fixed the problem at no charge! Great guy, honest, very nice and professional! Would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of plumbing services!

I have not had good plumber experiences in the past, so I was very relieved to have found Kevin. We are very happy with him & will use/recommend him in the future without hesitation:) I had been noticing the water rising higher in the floor drain when the laundry emptied...not enough to come out on the floor, but raising. I also had rattling & gurgling sounds, stinky smell coming up the kitchen pipe right over the laundry area whenever the laundry emptied. But still, no water on floor, so like a dummy homeowner, i kept ignoring the problem till water started coming up out of the floor drain when laundry emptied. I actually got into the habit of listening for the kitchen pipes rattling because that signaled me to go downstairs to add fabric softener...like I said, dummy homeowner! Kevin and his helper/son also named Kevin:) arrived on the scene to help with my problem & snaked out the floor drain. He made sure to check the water rising when the laundry tub emptied, he figured where the blockage was & snaked away. We have carpeting, just remnant stuff, and he was so worried about being careful with splash. I kept telling him it was no big deal, but he was ever mindful of keeping the area tidy. I appreciated his attention to detail & his desire to keep things tidy. Again, bad experiences in the past: i remember bleaching the walls & ceiling of my previous home's basement when a different plumber flung slimy black roots & water all over the place. Since then i make sure to spread sheets over surfaces & move anything of value. Hardly necessary with Kevin's care to not make a big mess:) While he was here, we asked that he also snake out the main & storm sewers since it had been 4+ years since the roots were removed from storm line. He had both small & large snakes & all equipment on hand in his van (I remember having a plumber years ago who had to leave to buy a new part & charged us the labor cost for the 45 mins he was gone!!) He did encounter some roots & worked away at clearing the line. When they were done, he wiped up the little bit of "yuck" that got on floor. He made sure to give us tips on how to maintain and prevent future problems. Estimated how much "life" we have in the old lines & gave some tips on how to talk to our insurance carrier about coverage for possible future repairs. I just can't say enough about this guy! We will call him for any future work, and recommend him to anyone we meet! The only bad thing i can say, is that now i don't have the rattling sounds to signal me that its time to add the fabric softener, i keep missing when the rinse cycle comes....lol! Also, one quick word about cost, I can't say that he is flat out the cheapest, because I have had those guys who charge under $100 for snaking, but they use flimsy little snakes and you start seeing symptoms of roots returning by the next spring, also those cheap guys want to race thru & take your money & get out of there. Kevin took his time to make sure everything was cleared away & looking good. He used skinny snakes for the skinny job & the big guy for the big lines, he knows what he is doing & he genuinely cares about doing a good job. You get what you pay for & based on his quality of service he is inexpensive!

Very good experience with this service. He stayed well past an hour to make sure my drain was free of the sludge. He had to go down with a snake several times. He was very courteous and explained everything he was doing. He apologized for being late, and gave us a discount. He also gave us tips on drain maintenance. I would definitely use him again.

Called the company and Kevin came out. Gave me his opinion and estimate. Did all the work he promised, very timely. Great to work with. Will definitely use him again.

Plumbers were on time and professional. I thought the price was high since they were advertising a outside water faucet replacement on Angie's list for $192.00.

We have been having an issue with the water backing up onto the floor in the laundry area of our basement when the washer drains for a while now. No standing water, but we needed to have the pipe snaked. I called a few places to get rough quotes. Almost everyone else I called either answered the phone with a gruff "Hello", or just didn't seem very interested in my business. Bargain Plumbing was polite, clear, and clearly knew what the problem I was having was and gave me a quote over the phone. So I continued to do my research and decided to call them back to inquire about scheduling service. When I called back, they were able to come out right away to my surprise and within a few minutes arrived at my house. Not only were they curtious and friendly, and told me clearly how they was going to fix the problem. He performs exactly what he said he was going to and made sure that everything worked exactly the way it should after completing the snaking of the drain. They gave me pointers on how to help prevent additional problems with the line. After finishing snaking the drain line, he even took the time to look over my chimney (which is near my laundry room) and noticed a few openings in the mortar. So not only did they come out and fix our drain, but also pointed out a potential carbon monoxide leak! The price was great for the job performed, they were very courteous, professional, and went above and beyond. I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely use them again if I require additional service.

I called them in a panic because they had just replaced a broken drain pipe in the front yard and now rain was coming into my basement again. Kevin came right over, looked at the problem and showed me that the water was seeping through the wall, not coming from the drain. Then he went outside (in the rain) and saw that my downspout extension/diverter had disconnected from my downspout. He hooked it back up, problem solved, no charge. I should have checked that first, because it has happened in the past. I trust this company and will use them in the future.

Well, I seem to have covered that in the first entry; I can add that Kevin called about ten minutes before arrival to let me know he was on his way and provided exactly the service I needed. Thanks again, Angie!

I called and explained that I suspected a clog in the pipe below the main floor because when my daughter let out water from taking a bath on the second floor, warm water came up from the toilet on the main floor. Kevin gave me an estimate over the phone of $150.00 which is what I paid. Kevin snaked the drain from the main floor to the drain leading outside the house in the basement and removed the obstruction. He cleaned up the mess after he was done. In addition to snaking the drain, he gave additional advice regarding sink drain maintenance to keep them from clogging. Very satisfied with the service.

It was a good remind of why to call a professional to do these things. Great job.

They came in the morning to do the pre-paid drain cleaning. They were thorough and neat, cleaning up any mess they made. Then they came back later in the day with the machine with the camera. They showed me two problems and gave me an estimate to fix the more urgent one, which is a crack and and a low spot where my pipe meets the main pipe. This is why I've been having some clean water backing up into my basement recently. Kevin also showed me outside on the lawn exactly where the problem was, and how the ground felt lower and mushy there. I will probably hire them to fix the bigger problem within the next few days. When they fix it they will also install a larger drain pipe leading in to my house so it will match the circumference of the one coming from the city drain. Kevin seemed knowledgeable and experienced. I'll write a review after they do the larger procedure. I dread digging up the lawn, but if it will be a permanent fix it will be worth it.

Came to my house and performed replacement work, cleaned up and left. Job well done. Came out of usual service area to complete the job. Very professional and worked hard to please. I appreciated the "big deal" and was satisfied upon completion

We initially bought the Angie's deal to have the outside drippy faucet replaced. Kevin called to set up an appointment but due to a family crisis we held off having itdrone just yet. A few days before Thanksgiving the toilet clogged, so I called Kevin. He came out within hours and unclogged the toilet. He also removed the outside faucet. He returned the next day and replaced the faucet and Installed all new fixtures inside the toilet tank, which so needed to be replaced but one of those things you just keep putting off. He also showed us where the shutoff valve was for the outside faucet and insructed us to shut off during the winter and let drain from outside. We always did this with the back faucet but Negligent with the front. No other plumber ever mentioned the importance of it but now we know. I'm so glad he was listed on Angie's list because we've had our share of yellow page professionals that charged high prices for shotty work, instead of doing a good job for future business. Kevin was punctual, friendly and very professional. He targeted the job and got it done in a very timely fashion. He renewed our faith in dreading to hire plumbers. We highly recommend Bargain Plumbing and will certainly call them again for any future plumbing problems.

He did a super job and we are pleased. His name is Kevin. We didn't need to get a whole new toilet like we thought we would. He just replaced some innards in the toilet. That saved us probably a couple hundred dollars.

We originally hired Mr. Gaber to replace an outdoor faucet that had been leaking. He responded to our call immediately and came early on the day that he promised. Our hose bib was replaced, but ONLY after he had inspected our basement pipes to ensure that there was no other source of leaking. While working, we asked him about various other repair jobs in our house and what needed to be done, and he patiently explained to us exactly what we needed, and also quoted a price for each job. On Nov 15th, we experienced a flood due to a backed up sewer, and even though it was late at night, Mr. Gaber answered his phone, AND promised to be over the very next day. He came on time, and the work was performed as needed. Mr. Gaber is a joy to work with, and genuinely seems to care about his job---and especially his customers. I would highly recommend him to anybody looking for an experienced, reliable plumber.

The guys were very courteous and professional on site. Kevin seems quite knowledgeable, patient, and fair-minded. They worked hard to get as many roots as they could, considering the configuration of our system. They cleaned up the work area as well, and we set an appointment for the camera work a few days later. I would offer two suggestions: 1) Timeliness: it's okay to call if the appointment window if going to be missed. 2) Technology: there exist a couple of methods for completing our job despite the inconvenient system configuration. If this company had access to either of these methods, we would likely hire them to complete the job.

Kevin and his helpers came over to the house as we requested and re-caulked our two bathrooms that were both leaking into the basement. He showed us by running the water in one the showers, that one of the leaks would be better stopped by replacing the shower door since it wasn't stopping the water as it's supposed to. He was honest and up-front while recommending getting a more experienced shower door installer since that really isn't plumbing related. He did successfully stop the water from leaking in the other shower/bath, and said if it happens again to call if the problem is a result of anything they did wrong and he would fix it again no-charge. He does take his integrity very seriously.
