We were in a panic when we woke up yesterday morning and there was no hot water. My wife goes down to the basement to check the pilot and finds water spraying from the water heater! The basement has water all over and it is a mess. We found Bill Walton through Angie's List and called. He answered right away and had his Service Rep Rick out to the house 3 hours later. Rick was AMAZING! He surveyed the problem, went out to the truck to get the cost of the replacement water heater and came back in and quoted me the price. I agreed and when he went to order the unit, it came in $100 cheaper than he expected. This is what sets Rick and Walton plumbing apart, most contractors would keep the difference, however, Rick passed the savings on to me and saved me $100! That's honesty! Rick replaced the Water Heater! It is working great and while he was at my home, he came across a broken faucet that he took the time to fix, FREE OF CHARGE!!! He didn't have to do that either! Walton Plumbing now has a loyal customer!!!

Walton did a great job and found a problem with sewer smells leaking into your house that two other plumbers could not find (missing valve somewhere behind the dry wall). I was very impressed by his profession and systematic approach and how he honed into the problem and found it. If you have a difficult problem, I would definitely use them!

We couldn't have been happier with Walton Plumbing and the work their guy Rick did. They were able to service us the morning after I called for service. Rick was prompt, quickly identified the issues, and fixed what needed fixing. He was personable and professional. I will call them again if plumbing work is needed in the future.

We called on Saturday January 2nd and told him that we had a small leak upstairs that was leaking into our kitchen. He stated that he would be there Sunday morning (no additional charge) and he was here Sunday promptly. He looked at the leak and did not have all of the equipment he needed so he ran up to Home Depot and got the material and fixed it and was out the door within an hour. And within that hour he also put a shut off valve on another pipe for us. Very nice and processional. Would defiantly recommend him to other and will use his services again.

We had a leak coming from our upstairs bathroom through to our kitchen. Bill cut out a portion of the the ceiling and looked at the plumbing. He was able to tell us the problem just by looking and explained it to us. He told us the next steps we would need to take and that he would not be able to help us that day, so he did not charge us for his time.

Great experience. I was near panic since this was days before a holiday and I had so much cooking to do. I contacted Bill and he was able to come the same day. He was friendly and professional. He even reminded me about the Angies List discount.

He also came on short notice to remove and later install a new drain for the washing machine. He has done a great job and has been very helpful as things have come up unexpectedly during the project.

Bill arrived when expected and completed the work in a couple days.

He basically did nothing. He showed up and gave us a written quote and then came another time to let the crew know where to start the demo and then never returned and stopped returning our phone calls. He just disappeared and consequently left us without plumbing for weeks until we could find another plumber. We never got any explanation as to why he wouldn't complete the job.

It went well, very well. Not sure the contractor would agree, but I'd use him again.

We provided a new garbage disposal and wires. He brought all his own tools and piping. We called on Saturday evening to make an appointment. He came out the next day, which was a SUNDAY. He said he would be there around 9am. He texted that morning to let me know that he would be there closer to 9:30am. He saved us money by not having to snake the drain and replaced the old piping instead. He was very professional and worked quickly. He worked from 9:30am-11am. We had unusual wiring that he was unable to figure out. We will have to hire an electrician to fix what the previous homeowner rigged for our switches to turn on the garbage disposal without turning the dishwasher on and off. Overall, he was great and I would call him again for future plumbing issues.

Bill came to replace my faucet on Sunday when it was convenient time for me. He also patiently navigate my tight basement to complete the job and made sure there were no leaks.

The guy is outstanding. Clearly very honest and takes pride in his work. Was not rushed and took time to do a quality job. Never stopped for breaks except lunch and took time to ensure that the workspaces was covered and cleaned up after himself. Good man. He is the owner and it's great being able to deal with him directly. Price was also very good as he does not have all the overhead associated with the big boy shops. Had some leaking afterward from the drainage pipe but promptly came back with no issues to fix.

Their service excellent. They are reasonably priced, and they are more than competitive. They came out right away and arrived on time. They take the time to explain what they are doing and to answer questions. They are a class act.

Bill has done several jobs for us around the house, replacing some corroded pipes and installing a drainage pipe. His rates are reasonable and we've been very happy with his work.

Showed up on time and finished the project in about 1.5 hours. He had to work in a tight location but made it worked.

Simple as 1, 2, 3! Bill responded to my email right after I contacted him. We had used him previously to install our sump pump in our home. He scheduled the appointment with us for the end of the week. Within an hour, he had both items repaired and ready to go. Bill is very easy to work with and has all the traits that a master plumber would have - efficient, effective and friendly! We will continue to use him for any plumbing needs that we may have in the future!

My water heater started leaking this winter. I considered replacing it myself until I found out the 50 gallon water heater weighs around 160-170 pounds. I really did not feel confident moving this down to the basement nor dragging the old one out. I don't have a truck so disposing of the old unit would be a problem. Another complication is the vent goes through concrete basement wall into a masonry flue. The old water heater had 3-inch vent; current code requires 4-inch, so this means chiseling the concrete to enlarge the hole. I usually do home plumbing and electrical myself. While I was sorting out how to do this work myself, the leak increased significantly so I decided to hire a professional. I started to use the installation services offered at home store (e.g. Home Depot; Lowe's), but one installer had many complaints on Angie's List, another installer was scheduled out many days, one estimate was very expensive. I decided to call a local plumbing service who has a good rating on Angie's List. I called Walton Plumbing of MI, Inc first thing on Monday morning. The owner, Bill Walton answered. I explained the problem and my concern about the vent. I also explained my preference for the make/model new water heater. Mr. Walton said he had a full day of jobs already scheduled for Monday so we made an appointment to for Tuesday morning (next day). Tuesday morning Bill Walton arrived promptly as planned. He looked over the job and gave me an estimate. I agreed. He made some measurements, then he left to go pull a building permit, buy the water heater I specified and gather assorted supplies. I offered to hook up a hose to drain the old water heater. While he was away I also mopped up puddles from the leak so the work area would be better. When he returned he disconnected the old water heater and brought the new one down to the basement. With the old water heater removed, we discovered that the water main shutoff valve does not shut off completely. There was a steady trickle from the cold water pipe even though the plumbing had been draining for almost an hour. Luckily there was a stop valve with a waste port feeding an outdoor faucet. The stop/waste was lower than the horizontal run of copper pipe feeding the rest of the house plumbing, so he opened the waste and put a bucket under it to catch the trickle. If he had not solved this, then I would have had to make additional urgent repairs before he could solder connections to install the new water heater. He set the new water heater in place and asked me if the location and orientation was okay. I liked the setup because it was cleaner and neater than the original. He proceeded to make plumbing and gas line connections. When everything was hooked up he checked for leaks and then turned the unit on. I was busy with my work and didn't notice when he dragged the old water heater up the basement stairs by himself or I would have helped. Everything checked out and worked properly; the installation was what I wanted; I happily paid for job well done. I want to emphasize that Bill Walton is professional in all respects. He was polite on the telephone; he arrived promptly for the work appointment; his workmanship is excellent; he has a courteous and businesslike manner; he works efficiently, not wasting time; and he has the experience to overcome obstacles that crop up when dealing with repairs on old systems.

Visit went well. He spent time laying out the options and the pros and cons of each. Seemed enthusiastic in coming up with different ideas to the questions presented to him. We didn't have the service done, but we would ask this company to do it if we did and probably any other plumbing related issues because they just seem to know what they're doing.

It all turned out really good. Bill is very capable and answered all my questions. He was easy to work with. The work happened in the middle of winter at a time when all plumbers are busy working with very burst pipes and such. Generally Bill made time for my project, after his roughed in work we needed to go with a different plumber to finish because he was too busy and had auto trouble. Bill charges by the job, which is great because you know what things will cost up front. There weren't up charges even though the project was complicated. In one case the supply was mixed up, and bill came out and made it right. Highly recommended.

Note: Most of my correspondence with Bill at Walton Plumbing was done electronically through Angie's List, so if your a multitasking professional and are comfortable with that, you'll probably appreciate that. You can, of course, call, but I'm a nerdy software engineer and so sending off e-mails is fine by me. I'm a person with Cerebral Palsy who bought a condo with less than wonderful toilet facilities, so I needed to replace the one I use at least. I could have had Lowe's perform it but I decided for a number of reasons to take advantage of the situation and find a good plumber. Walton plumbing didn't have even a single grade lower than A, which is akin to finding a unicorn here for the number of reviews he had gotten. Bill was quick to respond, had no problem fitting me in another day at the last minute, and the install job was done beautifully. He was nice and professional. He charges per job rather than by hour, which I like. He also agreed to pick up the toilet for me, for a small fee (included with the cost I listed) and hauled away the old toilet. I was very pleased by the whole experience.

He was able to work with my schedule, did a great job quickly even though it required a run to the hardware store.

After being gone during the coldest days of this winter, I came home to a clogged bathtub, toilet and bathroom sink. The clogged and frozen drain/pipe was a real challenge because of the age of the house, bends in the pipes and frigid temperatures. He tried many solutions to avoid having to break into the wall to get to the pipe. He even brought in a power heat blower to shoot heat into the pipe for several hours to melt the ice and it worked! He saved me a potentially expensive repair bill if the pipes had burst or had to be accessed through a hole in the wall. I will definitely use him again.
