We were scheduled for 8:30 and they arrived at 8:25 AM which was a very nice start. Neil and Collin were very friendly and professional. They immediately evaluated the items to be loaded and started loading within a few minutes. They were done packing within 2 hours. After arriving at our new home, they unloaded the truck in less time than loading while ensuring everything was in the proper location. Throughout the process they were very careful to protect our homes as well as our belongings. We came in at the quote price. We were very happy with our move and will be calling them again if we are moving.

The packers were great - nothing lost or broken as far as I can tell. The movers were absolutely phenomenal. They worked hard ALL DAY, took great care of my stuff and homes. I just cannot say enough about this experience with this company. Exceeded all my expectations.

The pre & post moving experience was excellent. Kaitlyn the sales representative was outstanding and well as the 5-man moving crew lead by Brain. I am retired military and have been moved all over the world. White Star is one of the best moving experiences we've encountered to date. I also love that this company values those who have served and offers military discounts. Kudos to the White Star team for a job well done!!!

The crew arrived on time ready to work. They were both polite and professional. They handled our belongings with care. They were very efficient. If we ever move again we will hire this company. We were very happy with their service and we highly recommend them.

Needed to move furniture and some packed storage totes from house that was being sold to a storage unit. Called late the week before and the person on the phone was very helpful. She asked about the contents of each room to estimate the work/time needed and got me scheduled for the coming Monday morning which was excellent! That morning the guys were there right at the beginning of the time window and got right to work. They were clean, professional and took all appropriate precautions to get everything loaded safely and quickly. I was perfectly happy to that point and then we got up to the storage unit, from there I was amazed LOL! The amount of stuff they were able to get unloaded and into the unit shocked me! I took a guess when renting the unit and there is no way I could have fit half the stuff in there myself, the guy packing the unit was amazing! He got everything I wanted in there with like a 1 foot by 5 foot area of floor space to spare. Would definitely recommend these guys!

What a great experience! Ryan H, Brian and Adam got the job done! They arrived right at 8 am as scheduled and got right to work. They exhibited care for our home and our possessions. Everything was moved without even a scratch on the walls. They were fast, clean, courteous and conscientious. We felt like they went above and beyond when one piece of furniture did not fit into its desired location, necessarily a whole big logistical (and heavy) rearrangement.

White Star Movers did everything very well! The receptionist was pleasant and they followed up prior to the scheduled appointment. On the day of the work I must commend BRIAN and DONALD because they did an EXCELLENT job!

The move was great! The 3 young men arrived on time and were friendly, professional and efficient. All belongings were packed and moved without any damage. They protected my wood floors and were very careful not to mar them. They even removed any empty boxes that we unpacked. I would definitely recommend this company. Hopefully I will not move again but if I do I will use them again.

White Star Movers handled my mother's move from Michigan to Pennsylvania recently. She was exceptionally satisfied with every aspect of the move. To begin with, the moving team visited her home with a complete team of White Star representatives. Each team member helped to coordinate the move from providing a very cost effective quote, to coordinating a two stop move across states, to expert care and deliberate planning of century old antiques. The entire experience was considerate, professional and carefully orchestrated. The moving team had an exceptional foreman, Jordan, who was prompt, thorough and very professional. Both of his moving teams handled her belongings as if they were their own. It is very clear, this moving company has customer service as their number one priority. They came highly recommended and we can attest, We would also highly recommend their services to any one considering a move. Thank you White Star Movers for the care and attention you gave my mother's move. You made a stressful situation very calming assuring her belongings arrived safely and securely.

We recently moved, and I needed someone to take care of the heavy furniture, and items too big to take by car. I called White Star, and they sent Chris Phillips out to walk around the house with me so that I could show him what I wanted moved. After going over everything, he told me we would need a semi truck and three guys to accomplish the job, but the cost of the semi was no more than a regular moving truck. He quoted me $1287.00, and estimated it would take about 8 hours. On the day of the move, the truck and the guys showed up on time, and did another walk through to double check everything that was going. Following that, Brendon, Tony, and Troy worked hard and fast, getting the entire house loaded in just over two hours. They wrapped everything that needed protecting, and got everything into the truck without bumping walls or furniture. Upon arriving at the new house, they quickly began unloading, placing everything where my wife directed. The new house was a bit smaller, and we were definitely having issues getting things where we wanted them. They crew took off the doors where necessary, and even took apart and then reassembled parts of the furniture to get it where we wanted it to go. They worked quickly, professionally, and got everything where we wanted it with no damage to anything. On top of that, they got it done in 6 hours, saving me $286.00 which was refunded to my credit card. Next time I move, White Star will be my first and only call.

These guys are great. Jon, Troy, Anthony and Cory worked quickly and efficiently. The arrived at 8:30, conducted a walk through and got to work. They listened to what was moving and what was staying in the house and asked questions if they needed clarification. They made sure we were happy before we left the house and again after unloading. I asked that they make an unscheduled stop at a storage locker to pick up a couple of couches and they were happy to accommodate the request. Even with the stop, their speed and efficiency allowed brought the final bill in on target. Nothing was damaged and they offered to help position furniture before they left. (In fact, we had some appliance deliver and they offered to move them into the house for us! I would surely use them again.

Everything was handled very professionally. The sales person/estimator helped out on short notice and gave us helpful advice on packing. The crew was great. They were friendly and had great, helpful attitudes even after a 6 hour drive. They took excellent care of all of our belongings and set things up just as we wanted. Highly recommend this company.

White Star movers were great from beginning to end. Katilyn came out and looked over the job and wrote up an estimate, taking into consideration that we moved all the breakable things and antiques. On the morning of the move the team Jon, Jamie, Earl and Pete showed up on time and worked non stop for the next 9 hours. They were amazing the strongest men I have ever seen, we had a lot of heavy stuff. They carried quite a few heavy things up out of the basement, luckily there were no appliances. There were many boxes of all sizes. They took each piece of furniture to the living room wrapped it in pads and carried it to the truck. They were master stackers too. They were always polite, asked questions when they were not sure about an item and covered all the floors and steps to protect them. We had lived in this house for 37 years and built it ourselves so leaving was very emotional for us. They even moved a large piece of a fallen ash tree we planned to make into a coffee table. Once we got to the new house again they worked very hard unloading a truck that was totally full to the max. They kept working with very little break time and were helpful in moving furniture around once it was in the house. SO if you are moving I would highly recommend White Star and the team of Jon, Jamie, Earl and Pete. They were the best. Thank you.

White Star did a fantastic job and I would definitely recommend the company if you're looking for a great moving company. Very professional and thorough. My move took 8 hours, which I expected.

The movers were polite and respectful . They packed my kitchen items very well. This is my first experience hiring a moving company so I didn't know what to expect. So far everything has gone well. The final results won't be until my possessions arrive in California when Craig, the driver arrives at my new house. I expect all will be fine then too.

The three man crew of Will, Anthony, and Zack W arrived on time, surveyed the job, and quickly got to work. The job was estimated at 6 hours, but they were done early. Each member of the crew was extremely courteous, professional, and exercised extreme care with our belongings. I would not hesitate to use White Star again!

They were fast, courteous, and professional. I was pleasantly surprised how efficiently everything went. The whole experience including the fifty mile drive all went very smoothly.

Overall, the move went well. White Star was the first company that called us back after asking for a quote online. Megan walked me through the house, room by room and gave me a quote of $450-$500 and about 5 hours. The team of Brad and Kyle arrived at 8:45 a.m., exactly in the window that was agreed upon the day before. Also, in the call the day before, they confirmed what had to be moved and reaffirmed our quote of $450-$500. This was even when we had said that we had wanted about 30 boxes moved as well, the quote and time frame of 4-5 hours was still the same. While we do believe that the team worked, we had all our boxes taped shut and we even assisted in taking down the bookcases ourselves, the move took from 8:45-5:15 pm and cost us $1105.00. This was more than double what we had been quoted. I called about a month later to let them know that we were not happy with the estimate and final total. They said that bookshelf was an issue to take apart and that sometimes moves take longer than expected. We did receive a $159 refund after several phone calls back and forth, but are still very disappointed with this experience, as we had expected maybe $800 with the extra boxes, but $1100 was very hard to accept. This was in addition to a tip we gave them and lunch. It seems some another customer on Angie's list, had a similar experience with estimates this summer as well. I would recommend to anyone that uses them, to call the company throughout the move that day and ask for their updated total as the move is progressing.

We were given a one hour window of arrival on moving day. They showed up at the very end of that window, which worked out fine. They immediately introduced themselves by name. They laid down protective covering for our wood floors. After a quick tour of the house, they started in on the basement which is where a majority of the boxes were. They were there to serve. Although I offered, they consistently asked if it was okay to refill water bottles and use our restroom. If there was any question about whether something was supposed to get moved or not, they always asked. the move came with the use of wardrobe boxes and they wouldn't even let me move an empty box - they did it all. The only thing i questioned was after they finished packing everything up, there wasn't any sort of receipt white star offered. Call me weird and maybe its inherent in the contract, but I wanted something. Andrew obliged by giving me a hand written receipt. On delivery day I was again given a window, this time a 2 hour window and they showed up within it. Was pleased to see the same crew (minus Dwayne - I hope he's ok!) Same courtesies and professionalism on day 2. I had most boxes color coded to determine which floor/room they went to, but those that weren't they were consistent and patient in asking. They were willing to move items again and again within a room to help with our setup. Jack even offered some help in arranging advice.

We had a horrible experience moving from Michigan to another state - by far the worst of the 5 moves we have ever had. The guys who came to pack up our possessions completely missed one closet and portions of two other closets until we pointed that out to them after we did our own final walkthrough, even though we first walked them through the entire house and pointed out each one. They mislabeled boxes, did a sloppy job packing them and generally seemed inexperienced or inadequately trained. They did not bring nearly enough boxes for packing, apparently because White Star had seriously underestimated the number of boxes needed (and therefore the cost to us); we can understand that White Star's initial estimate was too low, not necessarily because of its fault, but because we ended up having serious and unexpected medical problems that prevented us from doing as much of our own packing as we originally planned, but we had explained that to White Star shortly before the move and had them come back to our house to re-estimate, but they still significantly underestimated the packing needs even after coming back again. Even worse, they only sent two men to unpack us at our new house, one of whom told us he had a broken foot! That made for very slow unpacking (they didn't finish until around midnight) and two men (even if both had been healthy) were clearly not enough to move our Steinway grand piano down a steep slope into our house. When informed by the driver that they need another man, White Star said no one else was available and suggested to us that they move the piano back to Michigan and re-ship it later or that it be stored temporarily in our garage. Neither of these options were acceptable to us. Eventually, they found one guy locally just before he went home that evening and the three of them managed to get the piano in the house (but it was still quite a struggle and very nerve-wracking to watch). We did find that part of the piano rack was broken in the move and they paid to have a local company repair it. We also found that several pieces of wood furniture looked like they had been rubbed against something painted white paint - we think it probably resulted from the movers failing to properly pad the furniture, causing it to rub against the inside walls of the moving van. The company's response below is disingenuous at best, We informed them by phone about most of these problems at the time they occurred. We selected White Star based on its Angie's List reviews, but would warn anyone else against ever using them. They made our move a real nightmare.

This was the third time that we have used White Star for moving. The first two times were very good, excellent moves. This third time which should have been the quickest move actually took longer than the move from our house to the apartment. We had the White Star crew move us from our apartment to a condo aprox. 1.5 miles apart. It went much slower than I had anticipated, It took them almost 2 hrs longer than when we moved from our house to the apartment. This is after I had taken a 15 ft. rental truck full of furniture from my apartment to my daughters. The crew started out with 2, but they called in a third person since they thought it was needed. I will be moving again in first half of 2015 and will not be calling White Start.

The moving crew was polite, courtesous and efficient. It was a long, hot day and they did a good job.
