Description of Work: We have a rental home and the dryer wasn't drying clothes good. I searched for companies in the area to send out to the house for repair and ran across Grace's Appliances (also known as Macomb Appliance Repair). I set an appointment up for Chris to come out and look at the dryer and he gave me a date & window of time he would be there by. I asked him to call me 1/2 hour before he arrived so I could leave work and meet him there. I coordinated the renter to be home to let us in and myself to leave work for a few hours. The date of the appointment I sat at work waiting for the call and nothing. The latest he would be there was by 1 pm. At 1:15 pm I called him and he was confused as to which job I was. Once he remembered, he said I was next on his list and he could be there within a few hours. Uh huh. I told him that wouldn't work. The renter had already sat home all morning waiting for him, this was rude and unprofessional and we would be using someone else. He said ok and we left it at that.

Overall, he decieved my wife, and ripped her off
Description of Work: Chris came by to look at our oven.,took it apart and told my wife we needed a part that he had to order and that he needed a deposit of $150.00 for the part. She wrote him a check and gave it to him, and he never returned the call to update or anything. Weeks passed we were still waiting to hear from him.., no call. We finally called him and he was clueless as to our part status. He said he would check on it, again no return call. In meantime we had somebody else come by (week before Thanksgiving dinner) that told us we didnt even need that part, and he fixed it in a few days. After it was fixed we called him and told him to forget about it, and just return our check or write us one. He told us he' d drop it in the mail. He cashed it. Weeks pass again.., no check, no phone call. We call him, he doesnt have time to talk, he's on a job, but will call us back. Whenever I call him he's busy, he doesnt argue that he owes us the money, he just says he'll drop it in the mail. It has been about a year. I've probably called him six or seven times. Today I called him and told him that I was informing better buisness and Angies's list. Again he's too busy today , he'll call me tomorrow, and we'll work it out. But tomorrow never comes.

Our 23 year old side-by-side refrigerator was maintaining a too-warm temperature in both the refrigerator and freezer sections. I called on a weekday morning and the owner, Chris Grace, showed up shortly after noon. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a frost buildup in the ducts due to a failed defrost heater component. This same component had failed 2-1/2 years ago and even though costs have gone up since then, he replaced it for the same price. He was courteous, professional, and neat.
Description of Work: Repaired refrigerator running too warm.

He took the back wall panel off from the inside of the freezer and found a large block of ice. He tried to convince me I needed a new compressor, but I new better. He offered to get the ice off with a charge of $125.00. I declined because I knew I could do it myself. The ad said a free service call with any service. When I called the company I was told $49.95, but he charged me $59.95 since it was Saturday, but I was not advised of this and only paid the $49.95. When he left he took a screw from the back panel which I had to go purchase myself so I could put the panel back on the refrigerator. He was not a pleasant service man at all. The entire experience was bad.
Description of Work: I was having a problem with my refrigerator/freezer. I called them due to them having the BBB rating on their advertisement.
