SPARTAN DISTRIBUTORS INC

I was working on my under ground sprinklers, changing the morning start time from 06:00 to 08:00. I made the change, but also, by mistake, started the first zone to water. It has been dry so I figured I would let it run the 30 minutes. After 45 minutes it was still running so I shut off the system. The zone kept watering. I changed that zone to zero minutes hoping that would stop it...no such luck. I then had to look up the local distributor for my water controller. I called Spartan and was connected to their help line. Derrick was the first gentlemen I spoke to. He spent 20 minutes on the phone with me explaining that it could be a bad valve or timer and the type of test I need to run to verify that. The called ended and I proceeded to run the tests. Upon running the test I realized I didn't know how to ID the zone valve to the control box. I called Spartan back and spoke to Chris. He had me take the panel off the control box and explained the colored wire system and how to locate the wire in the valve control box. Ths took another 10 minutes to complete. Both guys were very knowledgeable of my system and explained clearly what I had to do to resolve my problem. I completed running the tests and was able to move the wire from the bad spot on the control board to an open zone and solved the problem. We have lived in this house less then a year...have never done business with Spartan..but received support as if I were a long time customer. I wanted to thank Derrick and Chris for their support...two very pleasant guys to work with...and Spartan for making sure their folks understand and practice great customer service. You have a new customer!!
