Downriver Window Repair

I had other bids, and chose Lance because his bid was reasonable, and he had been recommended to me by the company that installed my garage door. I couldn't have been more pleased with his work. I was not able to be there for the work, so had others check on things, but the crew seemed very professional, left the work site clean, and completed the work on time. The results were great, very well done, I would not hesitate to recommend him. they sent me pictures of the work when it was completed, and when I got back to town, did a thorough inspection and the work was very well done.

One window installation went ?ok?, but when installing the second window there was extreme damage to the interior trim and surrounding walls. Very poor communication on the part of the owner?no discussion regarding alarm servicing before their arrival; I was informed that a ?little? trim work may be indicated. When I inquired if it would be noticeable I was told ?no?; however they cut away a significant portion of trim and then placed additional molding and what I considered excessive amounts of caulk (all visible from the interior) to get the window to fit and compensate for the small pieces of molding that they placed. They did not sand or clean-up the caulk. Additionally, trim/molding was not placed to repair the opening/damages between the drywall and the window trim inside my home. Downriver did not paint or repair the damaged trim or drywall. The entire project was to take approximately 2.5 hours and ended up taking almost 5 hours for two windows. Overall, I consider the esthetics of the windows (especially the one where all the damages occurred) to be poor?looks inexpensive and scratched. Extensive clean-up required (in addition to repairing and painting the extensive damages to the trim and surrounding walls in my home) after the installation. The excessive caulk material that was placed last year has all deteriorated.Furthermore, individuals should be aware that it appears that the Downriver Window is now conducting business under a new name—Modern Windows.
