Marc always returned my calls and went above and beyond for me to get this fence installed. The only reason I got this fence/gate was because I was in the process of adopting a dog. After we met and told me how much the job would cost (a nice savings compared to a prior offer), that's when he exceeded my expectations. I called him on a Tuesday that I had an appointment for a home visit on Thursday with the adoption agency. Marc called the company that was making the gates to pull my job ahead so the fence would be done in time for my dog adoption home visit. Marc came out on Wednesday night at about 7 pm to work on my fence and worked till 10 pm making sure my fence was up and working well in time for my dog adoption. That was a very long day for him! So Marc did a great job on my fence and I even got a better deal than what his competitor offered.

It went great -- Marc worked with me on the design, I provided some input, he shared his plan with me, got approval, and did the installation. The fence looks great and performs as expected.

Marc installed a privacy fence on our property. He was great to work with. The fence was done quickly and built well. I found his price to be lower than the area competition. I would hire Marc again.

It went great. Mark was very responsive and kept us apprised of timing for the order and installation timing. He was also very responsive on the quote and provided us with useful alternatives for a fencing solution.

They really did such a great job and were punctual. I did not feel comfortable with them taking down the whole fence all of once, so he took down the fence in sections, installed the new fence and then moved on the next section. He kept the fence closed so that I would feel safe. He listened to my needs and concerns and because of that I recommend this company.

At first, it seemed like everything was wonderful. Marc Bland is a very nice fellow. But this is his OTHER job - he has a full-time job and fits this in when and how he can. He does have a crew of people working with him. There seemed to be one other guy, and then Marc's son. They were very pleasant people, and I liked them. But the work was shoddy and haphazard. And worst of all, Marc did not tell us that we needed to "pull a permit" with the city for this fence, nor that there cannot be two fences along a property line. You would think that someone having a fence business would know to fulfill the legal requirements, but Marc never mentioned them at all. So after the fence was all done, we got a visit from the city inspector. Not at all a pleasant experience. And the fence itself is awful. Crooked. Ragged. Rough. Amateurish. Not professional-looking at all. Sure, it looks better than the falling down fence it replaced. And sure, Marc was pleasant, pretty (too) quick, and on-time. Marc did pay for the late permit. And supposedly he is dealing with the problem of two fences on the property line, and we are hoping it does not need to be torn down.. But over-all it was an infuriating experience.

I highly recommend using this company. Marc was a pleasure to work with. His work is excellent! He was very professional and made recommendations that I had not thought of so I would be happy in the end that other companies did not take the time to offer during my estimates. It is very difficult to find companies that do excellent work and care about their customer. I feel that Marc exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend that you call his company if you would like to be happy with the outcome in all areas! Thank you Marc!

Marc was AWESOME to work with. Initially wanted to replace the wooden fence in our back yard and needed to adjust gate. Marc provided two estimates. One was to replace backyard fence and a new customized cedar gate. The second was put in support posts to existing fence and provide customized cedar gate. Communicated by email with estimates and text messages. Kept in contact with us until we made final decision. Arrived at times he said he would be over. Completed work in one day. Looks great!!!! Very professional. Would highly recommend Marc!

Don't bother contacting anyone else - Marc Bland does amazing work!!! I contacted Marc and three other providers through Angie's List. Marc was the only one who called me back. He came out promptly took pictures and gave me a quote via phone and email. He explained the problem and how he would solve it. He kept in contact with me and showed up the day the work was to be done (in the pouring rain). He explained that he and his guys would be over after the rain stopped to begin the work and then they would be back the following day. I received a text with a picture of my straight fence about 12 hours later. These guys must have worked nonstop. I can't believe that I had considered removing the fence - it looks like new. They came back a week later to put down soil and grass seed where they had dug down by the posts and put concrete. They even screwed some boards up top back into place. My neighbor was so impressed with the work that he asked Marc for a quote to replace his fence. I asked for a quote on fixing my front porch deck. I highly recommend Marc and his guys. They are fast, reliable and do great work for a fair price! I look forward to working with Marc again.

Second project with Marc this past year and it was terrific. Responded to request right away....came out and reviewed needs and measured everything....setup time to do the project....started project on time....worked long hours to complete in two days. Marc always kept us in the loop on what he was doing and asked questions when appropriate. High quality work at a fair price.... he has excellent communication skills. The estimate was done last fall, but I delayed having the work done until this spring. Marc and his crew finished the job in a week, clearing out heavy brush growth and pulling out all the old decrepit fencing.

Marc was a joy to work with....very personable and knowledgeable with creative ideas to address issues. Met with us within a day, then provided quote within 24 hours. Hand dug post holes because we had underground gas and power lines that the power companies wouldn't mark for us....glad he did because he found both of them very close to the holes. Worked late into the night and completed the project in less than one and a half days. Definitely work with him again if the project arises.

I will not do business with this company they took to long to respond with an estimate and they were over priced.

He responded promptly to the inital call. He allways kept me updated as to when he would be over.. The fence was completed in a week, maybe a bit less, of the initial quote A seperate quote for clearing out the area so it could be decided if he would provide this service or not. He asked about other small trees etc. in the area, should they be cut down etc. . He was very communicative during the entrire process. It is a strudy and beautiful structure that made an unusable part of the yard a space for the dogs to play safely.

If you would like to hire a "company" in the title,but not find out until after you've hired him,he will basically try to show up after his real full time job,late evenings or weekends,weather permitting,of course,always very late or not at all,only 1 time did he come on time and on a weekday morn. After insisting he file the permit,he tried to get me to do it,is accepted,coming over to cut down a tree,with a rented HD chainsaw,what fence "comp.",doesn't own a chainsaw,I own one.Should I be happy it was at a discounted price,that he hit my house with a brand new roof,and newer gutters,insufficient help,and a small rented HD,too small to haul everything away,he left that mess and anything else he took down from April 7 till the contract was voided on April 21.If you want a "company" between April 12 and April 13- 6+,April 15-1hr, and the final day April 21-20 Min's,but charge you in the void contract full day charges of augers,too small trailer,and gas from Farmington Hills to Oak Park.If you would like to hire a "comp.",who would still charge YOU,the $60.00 dollars for his failed inspection,which I was pre-warned by another comp,I would fail because my holes were not deep enough and you could not "sleeve" metal posts that were left standing.After calling in a panic,about the inspection,he came out April 15 for less than an hour, said the stump grind company messed up his holes,therefore he had to re-dig them at the right depth,curiously and suspiciously I noticed he re-dug ALL the holes,at $40ea, even the 6 no where near the back fence line. As suspected, I failed the inspection,he was to come out that day,but after failing,surprise,he had to go out of town,but would come back the next day,'on the earliest flight',after 2 DAYS,no call. I called him at 3.45p.m after waiting for him to show up,call to reset the inspection for the following Monday,told by the dept.he hadn't called yet,only to be told by him that he was STILL NOT BACK IN TOWN,was 'just about to call me and the office'.He called on Fri. at around 1 to say he would be there between 4 and 6pm,at 6:05 called,and said he was running late,AGAIN,I called back and told him I wanted end our contract,he finally showed up at 7:45 pm,finally removing the mess and left than 20 Min's. I am disappointed,disillusioned at ANGIE'S LIST for not having better system for an A rating, and disgusted I am out of over 3/4 of my down payment for 11 holes,no fence company wants to use,they all say they are too far apart and not in line,over bloated charges,for 5 weeks of sub par work,a failed inspection sticker,no fence in a now very busy work season by comp. that fooled me with their personality,and by the subsequent charges felt he did nothing wrong while saying 'the customer is always right' constantly. My Angie's List ends on May 18.I mailed a ore detailed complaint letter to your Washington st. address on April 24 and was told that was not where the those 'letters' go and that's why I have not heard from the company. I,also, mailed with what he says were his entailed expenses,to which I had huge issues with,for what probably amounted to maybe 14 hrs total of actual man labor. I feel while faithfully getting up to 4 estimates and meetings and calls with contractors-that this company listed on your site with 100% A rating while called a fence company on the site,is in fact not a fence company but a 1 man company with a full,permanent and demanding day job,who is in fact a weekend warrior, which I had no idea that I was hiring at those prices. I am already a weekend warrior. I needed a professional for something I could not do myself. The following letters has detailed my horrible,depleting,draining and stress induced experience. I feel, I have been totally ripped off,signed the resolution contract to be rid of him,so I can finally move on after all this time. I now have to start all over, I can't afford a lawyer,and still get a fence.I felt I had no options and no one to ask, so I signed and now have paid this exorbitant and over blown so-called "expenses" and just gave away $1,346.94and all I have to show for it is a mess of a backyard, 11 holes,poor service,lies, a useless permit,of which I now have to pay another $60.00 to a new company,and a yellow "failed inspection" card. It's too late for me now, but should know what I've been through ,after being Angie's List on and off for all these years, and why I will discontinue after this month is over.

There were some delays (not Mr Blands fault) mainly due to an uncoperative and unprofessional Miss Dig and the job took about one month. However Mr Bland worked with us to resolve the problems and once he hit his stride, the fence went up in two or three days. We would certainly recommend Mr Bland to anyone who wants first class workmanship and he is very easy to work with.

Mr. Bland came out the very day I called. He came up with some great suggestions to replace my gate but work it in with the look of my existing fence. He emailed an estimate to us the next day and followed up with a phone call the day after. He did not pressure us at all; he simily wanted to know if we had any questions. Once we agreed to go forward, I mailed him a $200 deposit. He came out right away and set the fence posts. Once the posts were set, he promptly came out and put the gate up. It looks great! I am very pleased!

Marc Bland, the owner, came out the day I called for an appointment. Marc was running about 15 minutes late for the time we were to meet and he called to let me know. I appreciated that he took the time to call instead of just showing up late. Upon looking at the damaged fencing he supplied a couple of options for the repair and pricing for each. He was very professional and answered all questions I had. We agreed to the repair to be performed. He supplied me with a written quote / invoice by email that evening. Work was accomplished the next day. Pricing was very reasonable for the work performed. I was very satisfied with the whole process and would definitely use his company again for any needed fence work.

They were recommended to me by my neighbor and they gave a good choice of what I wanted. They were very prompt and he came highly recommended. I got to go and look at his work. When I went to speak to the man, he understood what I needed.
