They were outstanding. Professional, on time and courteous. They did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them. The painting was neat and well done. They kept the work area clean and neat and they address all the details. Well done!!!!

I talked to him a week ago. He set up an appointment at 11 am on 09/30. He did not show up. I called him on 10/01 & he said he forgot about my appointment. He said he could come on 10/02 at 5 pm & he has still not shown up.

From day one they were professional prompt and gave great service. The other reviewers that gave F's probably caught them at an extremely bad time. Due to the flooding in the surrounding area, I know his phone has been ringing off the hook. They were punctual, went above and beyond. One of my other contractors flaked on me so they actually helped paint and install my doors/wall trim. I am so grateful. Would highly recommend this company!

I emailed this company a few days ago asking for them to call me about an estimate. The owner called me back the next day, and he was incoherent. He was slurring his words, dropping his pen, and frankly, sounded as though he might be inebriated. I thought that he might have some sort of medical condition, so I did go forward with scheduling the appointment for the next day. He did not show up for the appointment. He called me the following day, sounding perfectly sober this time (which assured me that this was not a medical condition), and asked me if we had set the appointment for either Thursday or Friday, saying that he lost his notes. I told him that we had scheduled the appointment for yesterday, and that he and I both knew what had happened.

When we bought our home, all the trim (and I mean ALL of it) and doors in the first floor of our 1920s bungalow was stained a very dark brown, and it made the house look incredibly dated. I wanted all of the trim and doors painted white, and solicited several quotes. I went with Lindsay Painting & Decorating because their quote was reasonable and I had a good vibe from Charles, the owner. Since we were also going to paint all the walls in the home (but do that work ourselves) and we had yet to move into the home, Charles suggested that it would be more efficient to spray paint all of the trim. Charles and his team thoroughly prepped the home for spray painting, and meticulously put protective paper covering over our hardwood floors, taping the seams and making sure the paper was flush with all of the baseboards. They completed the work in about two days (impressive) and the results are so great. It looks like a completely different home (I wish there was a way to post before-and-after pictures with this review)! There were no paint drips and no spray on our hardwood floors, and there are clean paint edges on all of the window panes. A little bit of paint peeled off some of the windows where we opened and closed them after the work was done, but Charles came right over and touched everything up. He is definitely dedicated to customer service and making sure his customers are complete satisfied with the work. Also, when I asked Charles before he started the work if he could make sure to tape off the ceilings when he was painting the picture rail so that we wouldn't have to re-paint the ceilings in those rooms, he offered to paint them for us at no additional cost. We also used Lindsay Painting & Decorating to remove extremely stubborn popcorn texture from our living room ceiling (I did a separate review of that work, which was excellent as well). We would definitely use them again.

Our home had a textured (popcorn) ceiling in our 16 x 12 foot living room. We had planned on removing the texture ourselves, but the texture had been painted over multiple times, and after working at it for 10 hours one day and basically getting nowhere, we knew that this just wasn't a DIY project. I had already planned on using Lindsay Painting & Decorating for the trim work in our home (which I'll review separately), and asked if Charles could help fix our ceiling He came out the next day to take a look, quoted us a reasonable price, and immediately got to work the next day. We are so happy with the results, the ceiling looks amazing! Charles spent part of every day for a week working on that ceiling - scraping off the texture, fixing the cracks in the plaster and other imperfections, applying multiple skim coats, sanding and painting. It was a huge project (we probably even made it worse trying to do it ourselves).. He had the added challenge of working with a coved ceiling, and did a great job of keeping the coves in tact. Charles is very professional and punctual and kept us appraised of the status of the project as needed. He kept the work site as clean as you can during this type of project, and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards.

I have never been contacted by this provider. I purchased this deal in December of 2013. To date, June, 2014, I have never heard from this company. We have an answering machine and no message was ever left.

From my first contact with Charles until his crew left my home it has been a pleasure working with Lindsay Painting. Their work was perfection. They arrived on time. The price was VERY competitive. This was a AAA transaction.

Let me start out by saying, I have had horrible experiences with contractors in the past. Not showing up, changing the price on me, or doing poor work that I have to check up on. Charles and his team, were none of those things. I contacted them on a Monday, he came out and quoted the same day. They also started the job the very next day. Charles was even in a fender bender on the way over, but managed to still get himself and his team to my house on time. I was SUPER impressed. My wife was home during the work, so I didn't see it until I came home. When I came home I was so pleasantly surprised, they did an AMAZING job. The lines were excellent and crisp, and there were no spots that needed touched up. My wife also mentioned how much she liked that they were neat and cleaned up after themselves. The job was so hassle free. We hired them to do something, they did it when they said they would, and I paid what they originally told me. I also noticed how much better at painting they are then doing it myself. We will be calling them again! If you are looking for contractors that you don't need to baby sit. These are the guys! Very pleased.

It went fine. They went above and beyond.

I needed paint work done and in a hurry. I got onto Angie's List and started to make calls. I had 4 different people come out and give me quotes. I DID NOT go with the cheapest quote but I did go with who could provide me the quickest results. Lindsay Painting was able to do that for me. Cost was very, very fair though and only $300 off of the "cheapest quote" I had them painting 24 foot high walls, staining 4' x 8' panels, painting trim, adding polyurethane to the stain and painting crown molding. I am a very anal person about getting things done right, cleaning up your mess, actually getting the job done and more than anything about taking pride in what your are currently doing at this point and time in your life (no matter how young or old) and doing it above average. Especially, when you are getting paid for it. This company shows up in uniform, logo'd vans, ON TIME, they tape off where necessary, cover what is necessary, don't take cigarette breaks, they are not on their phones, on and on.........they actually WORK..........Top Notch job. I am a hard person to impress or please because so many people and sooooo many companies are just crap. They let you down and do a so, so job. These people IMPRESSED me. I am very, very glad that I went with them and will without a doubt call them again, They went above and beyond without me asking. It is apparent it's what they must do job in and job out. Very, very happy with these people. I wish they could have built my whole Restaurant.

Timely, hardworking and efficient.... They did excellent quality work... very professional... cleaned up everything after they were done. ||I was very pleased and will use them again.

What went right: Their finished work was beautiful. Mr. Lindsay was examining a crack in the ceiling and managed to put his finger thru the drywall along the crack. He had his staff repair the area and did a fantastic job correcting the crack. The new surface is beautiful. What went wrong: The painters were due at 8:00 a.m. but at 8am I received a call from their office saying they would be a half-hour late. (It was the day after the superbowl so I certainly understood.) I asked Diane Lindsay if they would be staying until 5:00 p.m. which would still give me my 8 hours of labor. She assured me they would stay a half-hour longer since they were arriving late. Finally, when they arrived we explained to them that the piece of exercise equipment in our family room had to be LIFTED when moved or else it would put scrapes in our oak hardwood floor. We told them WE would be the ones moving that piece so that they wouldn't have to worry about it. They insisted that they would move it and LIFT IT themselves so we could relax about it.. In the process of only one man moving it, it got slid across the floor instead of LIFTED, and our worst fears came true. They had a huge circular scrape in our oak hardwood floor right where the exercise machine was left. It broke my heart because we had specifically TOLD them in advance that we would take responsibility for the item to avoid scraping gouges in our floor! Now I will always have their reminder in a prominent area of my beautiful oak floor!

The only item I rated B is the price because I didn't have the time to get other quote from another suppliers, so I don't know if Lindsay Painting's price is competitive or not. But Lindsay Painting sent two guys plus the owner to do the job, from talking to my friends and families, the price is pretty reasonable. Anyway, the overall service was excellent. They were punctual and responsive. And they did a great details on fixing cracks and holes. | |I made the first timer buyer mistake by picking paint colors online instead of in person. The colors in the living room turned out to be awful. But Lindsay Painting offered to repaint the living room with a new color with no extra cost. | |They painted the living room, bathroom, kitchen and mater bedroom. I am very happy how they turned out. Will definitely hire Lindsay Painting again in the spring for the exterior of the house.

Charles and his crew painted the whole interior of my 1300sq ft townhouse. They painted the foyer, kitchen, dining, living, stairways, bedrooms and bathrooms. Trims were also painted. Their quote was one of the best. Charles was punctual for taking a tour of the house and providing an estimate. He was ready to use any painting company I wanted. As my time schedule was tight, Charles was able to complete the work well within the estimated time and the paint job was excellent. His crew is friendly and gives pointers on design aesthetics of various color combinations. After seeing the job done at my house, my neighbor also contracted Charles to paint his house and they are extremely satisfied too.

Mr. Lindsay and his crew did excellent work !!!! These men are very serious and hard workers for in addition to painting they moved heavy furniture. After dealing with previous contractors who were unreliable on this current remodeling project, it was a joy to have the Lindsay crew come in our home and complete the project in just five days solving the usual problems along the way. In addition and most importantly, these men were punctual, highly professional, polite and delivered high quality work. We will definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to others.

Mr. Lindsay painted my living room, dining room, kitchen, front hall, back hall, up the stairs, upstairs hall, bedroom and bathroom. He had two helpers with him. All the painters were extremely efficient. They were prompt in arriving at 8:00 a.m. each morning and worked continuously. They did whatever patches that needed to be done to the walls and put on two coats of paint. They also had to remove wallpaper from three rooms before they painted. They moved furniture and took down drapes and replaced them when their work was completed. They cleaned up after themselves each day. I have no complaints. They did an extremely good job and I would certainly use them again for future work. I would recommend them without reservation.

It went very well. Their work was impeccable. There was a slight miscommuncation on some aspects of the painting job, but they overcame those obstacles and got the job done. I would definetly hire this company again.

Very quick and hard working crew. Were very prompt and professional. Finished job in 2 days and were very clean.

The work was completed in three days. The crew was very professional, they arrived on time each day and worked throughout the day to complete the job as agreed. They were polite and very courteous at all times. They sanded all surfaces prior to painting; moved and repositioned furniture as needed. The job was done very neatly, there were no splatters... The crew also assisted me to move some very large furniture pieces while they were at the home. All the walls are painted very well. All nail holes were repaired, the painted surfaces are smooth and even and very neatly done.

On 4/28/09 I spotted the Lindsay Painting van in a street side parking lot next to a hardware store in Berkley, MI. The supervisor/owner was working in the back of the truck, an assistant was cleaning brushes and dumping highly volatile and dangerous paint thinner into a storm drain. This is a huge violation of EPA rules. Their paint thinner is going into rivers and eventually your drinking water supply. I pulled into the lot and told them to stop. The supervisor/owner to his employee to stop and I was told it would never happen again, but I doubt this was their first time and I can't believe it'll be their last. My advice to anyone hiring a painter? Demand to know how they clean their brushes and what they do with their paint thinner and left over paint.
