Arnie and his crew did a fantastic job! They were always on time, from the quoting process through finishing the job and collecting payment. For both properties, they were out and gone the same day and did a professional job. You couldn't even tell they were out except for the fact that we had a new roof and gutters. They were also very good about communicating and committing to the schedule, despite some weathers delays, which they also notified us about the day before. ASR was by far the least expensive quote we received, and usually, this would make me nervous, but the other reviews here convinced us to award them the work and I can gladly say I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good roofing company.

American Standard Roofing came out to inspect my mother's roof after she noticed some water in one of the bed rooms after a storm last week. They were very professional and didn't try to up-sell. They informed my mom that her 15 year old roof was still in good condition with another 5-10 years to go on it, and that she just need to have some tar sealant reapplied to some of the flashing. Thank you very much, we will keep your business card handy for when its time to get a new roof.

The crew was at my home a half hour early, which was okay with me...the sooner, the better. American Standard Roofing had a large crew so everyone was working to either tear down shingles or rip out mold infested boards or cleaning up the debris. They laid down tarps to collect the debris. I liked that part very much. It was fascinating to watch a contractor use a conveyor on their truck to send up the purchased tiles to the crew on the roof. I was relieved the truck's weight didn't damage my driveway. Most of the team was working on the roof while one member was working to tear down the shingles from my garage. They were done before sundown and I was very happy with the results. I did ask the foreman if the crew could take down my unused antennae but they must have forgotten. When the foreman came by later to find out if we were satisfied with the completed project, we mentioned the antennae. He went up there and took it down himself, but it was left to us to dispose of it. Not too big of a deal there since our garbage man picked it up on trash day. What I liked most about American Standard Roofing is that they had no problem giving only me a quote versus needing my boyfriend present for the quotation. That was darn irritating since my boyfriend couldn't be available when they scheduled a visit. Also, American Standard Roofing was the only roofer I interviewed that brought their own ladder to look at my attic. PLEASE people!!! Start to finish very professional and efficient! Of all the roofing contractor's we had give us an estimate for a new roof, American Standard was by far the best! Set up the estimate appointment as soon as I called, were very prompt for the appointment. Mike gave us the estimate and explained in detail all the work they would perform. Unfortunately, the month of February was too cold, so we waited until the weather broke to have the roof repaired. The crew arrived at 7:45 and began work, they only took one break for lunch, and the job was completed at 6:30 pm. They did excellent clean up for having snow still surrounding our entire home and said they will come back for another clean up once the snow is melted. They were also very accommodating with my dogs having to go out to 'park' a few times during the day. Supervisor was on the job throughout the day and very pleasant! Thank you American Standard for a job well done! We highly recommend using American Standard for your roof repairs! You won't be disappointed with their professionalism, work performance and price!

American Standard Roofing completed the work in one very cold winter day - even after a bunch of snow. The work was actually scheduled for a few days before; however, due to the extreme cold, the work had to be postponed so that the compressors would work. The company owner, Arnie, was exceptional at keeping us posted as to when the work would be done. The full clean-up of the area could not be completed because of the snow on the ground, so we have been advised to call when enough of the snow has melted that they could swing by with the big magnet to get the rest of the nails that are currently hidden in the snow. The whole process was pleasant from the initial inspection to the work being completed. Excellent customer service and the new roof looks great. Thank you American Standard Roofing.

Despite being around 20% less than the other bid they did fabulous work. The crew didn't mind me closely watching them work. They were friendly, professional, and highly skilled. A few repairs to the wood underneath were done quickly and seamlessly. The final bill was exactly what I was quoted despite the repairs. The owner himself came out to inspect the work and take my payment. I was very concerned about this project, the cost was equivalent to several months of my take-home pay. I was also concerned about my ability to stand up to contractors who might be cutting corners. I felt like I got outstanding work for my money and could only hope that all contractors are as ethical and professional as American Standard Roofing. Oh, and the rubber-tired dumpster was hauled away hours after the crew finished. The office staff was great too, friendly and very responsive to a couple questions I had.

I am very pleased with the quality of work. Crew showed up on time and took one break during the job. Very hard workers!! The project manager visited several times to ensure all is well. The team was very responsive, answered all my questions. There were a few minor issues that were taken care of the next day without any questions. The representative was very professional and apologized for the small issues. The company was very concerned about my satisfaction. Every step of the process from the beginning was smooth and answers were thorough! Thank you for an excellent job. It was worth every penny!!

They came when they were supposed to and they were really good about clean-up. They had a little bit of bad weather and worked around it. I would definitely call them again if I had roofing issues.

The roofers came out first they tore all the roofing down, they were done in a day & a half. The day they were completing the roof, the workers were working on the siding. Within in two days everything was complete. Beautiful job ?, very happy with the work. It took the workers approximately 6 days, considering Michigan's weather

I called American Standard on January 14th to report what I thought was a roof leak. They sent someone out to check the very next day. Mike called before arriving at my house and arrived on time. He was very professional and even removed his boots so as to not track snow into my house, which was appreciated. After checking out the roof, windows and furnace, Mike reported that I didn't have a leak, but rather too much moisture in my house. He explained the situation thoroughly and told me what I needed to do to avoid further problems. When I explained that all this was new to me as my husband handled this type of thing before he passed away, Mike was very understanding and assured me that I could handle this. Can't thank Mike and your company enough. There was no charge for what I consider a very valuable service. I will definitely recommend American Standard Roofing to anyone who needs roofing services.

The Roofing team arrived on time and worked quickly to tear off, repair and replace both roofs. They did a great job with the craftsmanship as far as I can tell and did a good job on clean up. A city permit was pulled as per my contract. Some of the roofing completion involved a separate appointment to add correct venting to meet the needs of the warranty of the manufacturer of the materials used. This step was the only thing I did not know would be separate, but they did not ask for any money until the job was complete to my satisfaction.

Everything was smooth. Attic vents were added and I believe the leak is fixed! We called right after one of the worst storms in Michigan ever (i.e. severe Berkley/Royal Oak flooding) and American Standard still made it out quickly to give a quote. It took a while to get the work completed after the quote (about a month); however, I feel this was a reasonable amount of time considering the circumstances (lots of rain and storms). - I do suggest that (If Rich completes your quote), you deal directly with him as much as possible. There were a few hiccups (warranty, scheduling) that I had when trying to call the American Standard number directly, however, if I brought up my concerns to Rich he handled them immediately.

Overall we were pleased with the work. It was completed in a day and a half. The crew was polite, professional, and got the job done quickly. Overall quality is very good. Pricing was in the lower range of quotes we received. We chose American Standard because of the professionalism of their presentation and approach. The final invoice was exactly as quoted, no surprises. The work was originally planned for October, ultimately done in early December. Bad weather played a factor, plus the time for permits. I think that the original timing was optimistic, however. The owner, Arnie, was involved in the quote, scheduling, and final inspection and invoicing. He is professional and knows his business.

The owner, Arnie, came out to my home to give me an estimate on replacing my roof. He answered my request for an estimate quickly, and was responsive to my needs. He checked the roof, and was honest in telling me that the entire roof did not need to be replaced. I value honesty with any workers I hire as I consider them the experts, not me, and I must have someone whom I feel that I can trust and who is reliable. Arnie and his crew were just that. He and his workers were professional, and finished the job in one day, as he had promised. I am so happy that I went with American Standard Roofing.

The roofing team was punctual and appears to have done a good job. The real test will come with some serious rains. They were fast, they had all the work done in two days. The two complaints were that they replaced a ridge vent on our family room wing with cap vents, rather unattractive. The second was the nails left after clean-up. They appeared to do a good job of cleaning up but when we went outside we were stepping on nails everywhere which made us very nervous about the dogs. We did have quite a delay in getting the roof done from the original estimated date due to weather issues. The communication could have been a bit better. We had to call to get date confirmations. The price wasn't the lowest quote that we received but certainly fair and they had good advice in terms of colors and upgrade options. Overall, we think they did a good job, barring any leaks in the future, and would use this company again.

My husband and I chose American Standard Roofing after contacting 8 different contractors! We suffered horrible damage during the winter of 2013-14 because of the record snowfalls, below freezing temperatures, damage to our roof from significant weight of the snow piled up on it, high winds off the lake and ice dams. Surprisingly, 8 different contractors had 8 different solutions to our tricky roof problems that included cathedral ceilings, 4 skylights, and a major ventilation problem. After a considerable amount of research, we chose American Standard due to their product knowledge, sales professionalism, warranty and customer service, as well as their excellent reputation. They offer a 30 year labor and material warranty! This is the best that we've seen. We were also assured that the owner of the company would be on our site everyday talking with the foreman and crew. American Standard has proven in all ways that they are the very best of the best! I've no doubt my husband and I were probably higher maintenance than most customers. However, everyone at American Standard Roofing came through because they followed up with timely phone calls and e-mails, answered all our questions, put everything in writing and genuinely cared that we were happy. They recommended the work that needed to be done and didn't try to run up the price with, for example, needlessly replacing gutters; instead they suggested they clean and tighten the existing gutters! They continually worked with us on our problems and added baffled insulation throughout and baffled ridge vents to improve ventilation of the roof and preserve the integrity of the roofing. We also added 9 feet of ice guard instead of the required 3 feet for added protection, insulated a crawl space door, removed a power vent and other details to alleviate previous problems. Last Fall, I finally realized that I needed to join Angie's List which turned out to be an excellent resource for home improvements. I called American Roofing and Richard Goodman, and his associate (Michael), originally came out to our home in September to give me an estimate and they happened to be the last company on my list...nothing like saving the best for last. This was the first company that sent 2 knowledgeable contractors. They listened to me and observed all the water damage before offering a solution. Finally, I was impressed that these experienced gentlemen knew what they were talking about; and, they explained the procedures and process in detail and answered all my questions. I immediately had confidence that they would do an excellent job! They took their time, consulted with each other, made phone calls, crawled in our attic and crawl spaces, took many pictures to show me exactly what they were talking about and followed up by showing me product samples and demonstrating how they were going to solve our problems. They also gave us their opinion on the type and color of shingle we should use and a site that showed how these shingles would actually look on our own house! Lastly, they gave us a very competitive bottom line quote (guaranteed no extra charges). In addition they didn't require any down payment and would accept a credit card. I felt assured that they would treat my home like it was their own. Now, it was time to meet my husband and they passed with flying colors! Richard and Michael both took the time and came back and answered all of Bill's questions. They worked around our schedule and held to their 2 day timeline. American Standard Roofing had an excellent crew who took pride in their workmanship. Arnie, the owner of the company was on our job everyday supervising the entire job. There were over 6 on the team and I've never seen anyone work harder or care more. The new roof and skylights look spectacular. American Standard didn't ask for any payment until the entire job was completed (even minor details) which was early the 3rd morning! Arnie personally came over and made 1 final inspection, pointing details out to me before giving me the bill. Since then, Arnie and Richard Goodman have followed up with phone calls and e-mails to be certain that we are happy and all our questions are answered. They've proven to be a superior company with excellent employees and rank at the very top of our list! After all those months of research, my husband and I want to thank the entire American Standard Roofing crew! And, we recommend that you save yourselves and a lot of time and aggravation by starting with American Standard Roofing; you won't be disappointed! UPDATE as of 1/22/15 We had a problem with a pea trap freeze. We called them about this issue and they responded within a half an hour. They really came through for us. I feel like any other company wouldn't have cared or followed up. They really stand behind their work. Kudos to them!

The winter of 2013-2014 was one of the harshest on record in southeastern Michigan. Thousands of homes in this region sustained damage from the record snowfalls, below freezing temperatures, damage to roofs from significant weight of snow piled on them, and high winds. My home in Clarkston was one of these homes. My roof was seriously damaged from the snow. Over time, it melted and leaked under the roofing, through the attic, and behind the dry walls of my kitchen, dining room, and a bedroom. The ceiling above the kitchen and dining room was also damaged. In early June I began looking for a contractor to replace the roofing of my home. At that time, it was difficult to schedule a contractor. The contractors were extremely busy answering hundreds of house calls. I spoke with seven contractors to compare the roofing product lines they recommended, checked their references, state license, insurances, compared the seven contracts and costs, and the date repairs would be completed. My goal was to find ?the best of the best? to replace my roofing. I used the following methods to search: word of mouth referrals (normally, the best source), the local newspapers, county office, TV ads, Google, and Angie's List. American Standard Roofing had several hundred positive reviews on Angie's List. Very impressive. This is one of the major reasons I eventually selected American Standard Roofing. The majority of the contractors were acceptable, a couple were not. I selected American Standard Roofing located at 22519 Telegraph Road, Southfield, MI. Office phone number 248-350-2323. I selected them based on how they articulated their business, their sales professionalism, product knowledge, warranty, customer service, and quality of the roofing selected. On June 24, 2014, I initially met with Richard Goodman and his associate, who came to my home and did a thorough evaluation of all necessary materials and labor needed to install, construct, and replace my damaged roofing. He gave me a contract detailing the work that would be done and a completion date. I did not sign the contract at that time. Arnie Goodman, owner/manager of American Standard Roofing, followed-up on July 8, 2014. He came to my home and we reviewed the contract; he answered all my questions. I was comfortable American Standard Roofing was the company I wanted to replace the roofing. I signed the contract and the roofing was replaced on August 18th. On August 18th a work crew of four arrived at 9 AM. They wasted no time in removing the damaged roofing and damaged boards. After lunch they laid down the roofing. When they finished it looked awesome. I thanked each member of the work crew for their hard work. I also provided them lunch, it included a fried chicken dinner with all the fixings. Since then, I have recommended American Standard Roofing to some of my friends for their excellent customer service, costs, and professional workmanship. And, Angie's List as an excellent resource for home improvements, and specifically for me, an exceptional roofing company.

We have a beautiful roof line, but one that encouraged two very bad ice dams to form last winter in areas of the roof that are not easy to see or access. The water damage inside our home was extensive and took almost six months to repair. This certainly is not something we want to go through again. After completion of the "drying out" process, but before we could begin restoration work, we were told that we needed to replace our roof. Arnie Goodman from American Standard Roofing came to our home to prepare the quote. I have to say, he just exudes credibility! We were sold on the spot and he has proven himself as good as his word. In fact, even after American Standard completed their work, Arnie has been very responsive when I contacted the company with additional questions about roof heat tape and other ice melt solutions. The installers were very professional. They came on schedule, did a great job prepping to prevent damage to our landscaping, answered all our questions, and left the work site clean when they finished. They even accommodated some issues we had with our driveway that caused them extra work (and aggravation, I'm sure.) They took extra steps to help prevent future ice dams, but I have to say they were very honest when they told me that no matter what they do, if it comes to a battle between ice and shingles, the ice is apt to win...hence the additional ice melt systems. All in all, we could not be happier with the job this company did and would recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work done.

I scheduled an appointment for 9/27/14 at 2:00 p.m. for an estimate for a new roof on my home and garage and gutters for my home. Richard from American Standard Roofing came out to my home prior to my appointment time (after being made aware that I would not be available until 2:00 p.m. ) and left an estimate attached to my front security door (thank goodness it wasn't raining) with an estimate for only a new roof on my home. When I phoned Richard to understand why he did not honor the appointment time I had, he told me that he had a tight schedule and had an appointment in West Bloomfield he had to make. I explained to him that I confirmed my 2:00 p.m. appointment with Mike at 1:30. Richard was condescending and seemed indifferent about the entire situation and said he could come back another time, as he had moved on to another appointment. Unfortunately, my time is very limited and this was the only available time I had for a few weeks. I've contracted with American Standard Roofing in the past and had excellent services. I am very disappointed in the way I was treated and would like for someone to contact me. I want others to know that you do not have to be mistreated. Contractors are not doing customers a favor and should not act as such.

We contacted American Standard Roofing as one of a few contractors we chose to look at for replacing our roof. We recently bought our house and knew it needed a roof replacement, so this was our first big project. We chose to go with American for many reasons, and following are some highlights. -American Standard Roofing were punctual and professional for all appointments. During the initial appointment for the estimate I was able to have all of my questions answered and given a quote on the spot. I was also given a packet of information about the company and shingle samples at the appointment (which none of the other contractors did!) -They worked with us on scheduling. We live in a Historic District and need approval from the Historic District Commission for roofing work, and American Standard Roofing took out all of the legwork for us by working directly with the commission and getting approval for our project and scheduling the work. It took a little over a month to get our approval and the work done. -They have teams for both sloped and flat roofs-some of the other contractors we spoke to only work on sloped roofs. Our house has both sloped and flat roofs. -Arnie and the team were open to all questions we had (which were many!). We were always contacted back within 24 hours on the off chance we didn't get someone right away. -While we were waiting for approval from the commission our roof started leaking in one spot. Arnie sent someone out on the next business day to patch our roof as we were waiting for approval, at no extra charge. -The roofing team worked on our roof on a Friday from 8am to 9:30 pm, and came back to finish on Saturday at 8 am and were done by 1pm. There were over 12 on the team and they worked hard and clean to rebuild our large roof. They wanted to make sure to get the roof done fast, even if it meant working those long days-I think this speaks volumes to the ethic and mission of the company. -Cleanup and protection of the property went really well-they boarded some of our and the neighbors windows and had tarps down to collect scarp. I went through our yard after they left and it was cleaner than when they arrived. I did find one stray nail that somehow made it out of the trash, but it has been several weeks now with nothing else found, so that seems to be an outlier. -They offer a 30 year labor and material warranty. This is the best that I've seen! They mail you a certificate and it takes about 30 days from date of completion. -We also need our gutters replaced, and we are hiring American again to complete our gutter work. American Standard Roofing is definitely the company to go to if you need any roofing work done, and I highly recommend that anyone needing roofing work contact Arnie and the team. They are professional, punctual, and personable. Arnie and his team have earned their great reputation, and if anyone I know needs any roofing work done, I will be sure to refer them over to American Standard Roofing. Lowest price among 5-6 I contacted. Arny was very easy to deal with, there was some delay due to many rainy days. so far, there are no leaks.one bad thing was that I found a dozen of roofing nails in the driveway. hopefully I found them all. no flat tire so far. However, I will hire them again.

Arnie and his crew were terrific from the initial job quote to the completion of the new roof. We were provided with a well put together brochure of the Company, and were given sample options to make our selection of new shingles. No down payment was requested. The workers arrived on time and prepped the area around the house to protect and minimize damage from the tear off. Arnie personally checked in on the progress during the job and phoned the next day to make sure we were satisfied with the work. I highly recommend this Company both for their professionalism and quality of workmanship.

I got several quotes, which were all ball park figures but American Standard had a good discount for cash, which, along with the good reviews they had previously ,decided it. The work was very good, prompt timing, clean up, and everything that was discussed beforehand was delivered efficiently. As we didn't have much time before the holiday weekend to get the job completed we were pleasantly surprised it all came together on time and I would like to thank Arnie and his team for their hard work, and I would highly recommend American Standard
