Alan was excellent! Highly recommend. He is extremely professional, courteous, trustworthy, and prompt. He kept us informed every step of the way. I had an idea for our mudroom, combined from various other units found on Pinterest. And he put a gorgeous unit together that more than exceeded our expectations. We are very pleased with our final products and will definitely be using him again for any carpentry work we may need.

The project was started on the day listed in the contract. Alan was always very prompt and kept us well informed of all aspects of the work being done. He was also very receptive to minor changes we made during the construction. The craftsmanship of his work is outstanding and we are extremely pleased with the outcome. The entire experience was exceptional and we would never hesitate to hire Alan for future projects we have in our home.

It went really well. He called if he was going to be late, he was very professional.He was reasonably priced. He has a lot of integrity. We would use him again in the future.

He answered calls promptly, showed up at planned times, and was beyond professional. I printed pictures of things I liked from Pinterest, and we looked at them together to design our custom built-in. He provided us with a quote within a week, and upon approving the quote, we got on his schedule. He is very easy to work with and adapted to slight changes that I decided to make once the project got under way. He finished in just 2.5 days. We absolutely love it and are so proud of it. He is a very trustworthy contractor and works quickly and efficiently and does beautiful work. He is not the kind of contractor that will not return your calls or address your concerns. Highly recommend and can't wait to think of something else for him to do for us!

They came and did a proposal on September the 1st 2012 and they came to do some work at my house on September 6th 2012 I believe. I liked everything about them they were remarkably good and deserve a first class rating in every category.

We had another estimate from a carpenter who we had previously used when we remodeled in 2004 who could have the cabinets made and installed within 3 weeks. The cost was more than Alan's estimate but his availability was better for us. I was impressed with Alan and would call him again if the opportunity would arise.

This was the second time that Alan had done some work in my home. He's reliable, punctual and professional. Alan does a great job. He's thorough and cleans up after himself. I would use him again in a heartbeat and highly recommend him.

Alan was wonderful to work with and we will definitely be calling him anytime we need a skilled woodworker! He came over to look at the project we wanted to do. He took time to look at pictures I had gathered for a bench. He dropped a quote off at our home just a few days later and began work not long after that. His quote included a payment schedule, which I liked. He asked for a deposit to begin work and then listed each payment amount upon completion of each portion of the project. So overall, I made 4 payments in increments as the work progressed. Alan always answers his phone or promptly returns calls. His pricing is very fair and he is knowledgable, methodical, and careful. The completed project was everything I was hoping for!

Alan was able to carefully enlarge the opening so that the cook top just fit properly. He did a great job - no damage to the counter top and everything looks square. Definitely a case of measure twice, cut once. He showed up when he said he would and charged me the orginal estimate, even though I had postponed the work for several months. Was very satisfied.

My previous carpenter is no longer in the area, so I found Almar on Angie's list and he had very good reviews. I wanted to have him do a small job first, so that I could see his quality, work habits etc. One of my biggest pet peeves is contractors that don't respect my time by promising to be at the jobsite at a certain time, and then showing up late without even a courtesy call. I was very pleased that Alan arrived at my home not only on time, but just a few minutes early, was very thorough in explaining his prices and options on various jobs that I needed around my home. We decided to go with installation of cabinet pulls on our new kitchen cabinets, something that we have needed for at least a year. We had purchased the pulls and they were not the size of the standard cabinet template, and since the cabinets were new and our kitchen had an open floor plan, we didn't want to risk doing it ourselves. Alan showed up on time, got right to work and finished within our agreed upon (hourly) price. He cleaned up after himself and when was done, the kitchen finally looked "finished" and the cabinet pulls looked beautiful. I've already planned additional jobs with Alan, including hanging cabinets in the laundry room, building a bench int the laundry room and crown molding in several other rooms. Thanks Alan!!

There is too much work to go into great detail, but we are extremely happy with the work that Alan did. From the beginning, Alan showed professionalism, experience and interest in satisfying his customers. He arrived for the quote with a very impressive book of pictures from his previous work. Not only was it helpful to see the quality of his work, it gave us some useful ideas for own jobs. Due to delays getting our kitchen work done, we had to delay our original start date. Alan was very accommodating adjusting to our delay and coordinating his work with other contractors (his carpentry was part of a project that also involved replacing kitchen counter tops, sink and back splash, replacing the flooring in all the first floor common areas and repainting). Once work started, he worked efficiently, courteously, and cleaned up after each day of work. He was punctual and kept us informed of his planned schedule. The quality of work was very high, and when issues did arise, he resolved them without haggling. He truly embodies the idea that the customer comes first and pride in craftsmanship. Alan is cost-conscious and works to keep your costs down. Be sure to let him know if you are more particular than penny pinching. We ended up asking him to re-do one piece of trim as a more expensive single piece rather than having a transition in wood tone (he tried his best to match the two pieces). Even then, he was able to minimize the cost by re-using some of the original wood. Alan's dedication to the customer goes beyond sticking to the items on the quote. We requested and accepted quotes for additional jobs while he was working. We have been so pleased with his work that we just requested a quote to have him create some built-in shelving. If I can add pictures later, I will upload them. Right now we are waiting for the painter to stain and finish all of our new woodwork.

The fact that I would be willing to hire him again if I needed to says it all.

Punctual, professional, and all around a very nice person. The quality of the work was excellent and the problem with door frame solved. Overall cost was fair and advice given was very good. I would whole-heartedly recommend Almar Carpentry for any carpentry projects one would need to be done and I will certainly use his services in the future.

He called me back very quickly after my initial message. While he couldn't help me right away, he was very upfront about when he could take on the work (2 months from now) and he recommended a plumber that he works with who was also excellent in his response and will end up doing the work for me. Great responsiveness and great referral when we determined that he couldn't help me as quickly as I needed the help.

Alan was always pleasant and professional. He returned calls within a reasonable period of time and he showed up when he said he would. I got three estimates and Alan's was in line with the other two but he seemed to be a lot more thorough with what he recommended we do to fix our problem. He was also the easiest to communicate and most pleasant to communicate. He did a great job on our house and finished right on schedule. He also cleaned up everything when he was done. When he was finished our bill came out to $100 less than our original estimate because it didn't take him as much time and supplies as he had originally estimated. What a nice surprise! We would have never known that so he could have charged us the original amount but he didn't. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone!

Almar gave clear & concise estimate. On the job when they said they would clean, courteous & very professional. Would use them again & would recommend to anyone.

He did a great job, very professional. Arrived on time, did the work per plan and communicated to us through out. I would have no hesitation in recommending Alan to others!

The work was done professionally and in a timely manner. Finished product was a wonderful upgrade for my kitchen. He constructed and stain all the wood to match already existing fixtures and he is clearly a skilled carpenter. Great Job!! :)

Alan did an excellent job, was punctual, efficient,and reasonably priced. I would definitely highly recommend Almar Carpentry and will no doubt call him again for the next "project" that comes up.

After Alamar's estimate our insurance company took the claim seriously. Initially they thought that it would be well less than our deductable. Once the true cost (20K) was realized they used their contractor. Along with using their contractor came a 7 year guarentee. No one else could touch that.
