Description of Work: We are currently trying to get our $777 deposit back due to being very dis satisfied in being postponed a couple of times and then them breaking personal items during their pressure washing. it looks like small claims in our future.

Description of Work: The foreman promised a date but kept delaying it. Finally he sent two students to paint the house without power washing the exterior surface first. They did not even bother to scape off some old paint and caulking the wood trim. They were supposed to paint two coating but might have only done one. I really could not tell. Please do not use them if you can go for other professional painter or even DIY.

Description of Work: They painted my house. And did a really bad job, had to have them come back Since they missed huge areas and didn't clean after. Even after they came back and fixed everything or they said they did, I had to point out spots still missed and by then light wasn't that good so I even missed see some spots, I will probably have to pay some one else to paint again to fix everything.

Description of Work: This is the columbus ohio branch. Painted house exterior. Guys were great, very friendly. Did a good job but would not recommend them for painting on aluminum siding. Looks great in the right light but still see roll marks where over rolled. Broke ac by leaving tarp on ac unit.

Description of Work: They bid and were hired to scrape and paint a peeling garage ceiling. They were told it had a problem at the drywall joints installed and painted in 1976. |They called with a plan to power-wash the gypsum board ceiling. I told them NOT to do this! I saved them from a disaster. |They came a week or two later and started scraping. The two laborers had no dust protection. I provided them simple dust masks. We were given the lead paint EPA warnings. We asked the supervisor to test for lead. She did - it tested positive for lead. In the late morning, she created a rudimentary containment, but we had much paint dust on every horizontal surface. By late afternoon, the scraping was almost finished. The supervisor started to paint and determined that any paint left on the ceiling rolled up on the roller. The Sherwin Williams store advised her to continue to prime everything except the drywall joints. |Student Painters decided to walk away and not finish the job. But they wanted me to pay for the mess they left me with. They had expended $250. |The District Manager tried to put the responsibility on me and the drywall. A drywall contractor was called. He identified this problem as the original installation was not primed. The District Manager pleaded sympathy for the Student Supervisor, her college money was being lost. |They left, I paid what the scraping was worth to me, about $130. They lost my deposit check, so they didn't have the $255 deposit. |I finished the job myself -- scape-paint-scrape-paint until satisfied or tired. |Conclusions - |They are not professional painters. Keep them outside. |They did not have competent technical advisers. |The Sherwin Williams name adds nothing. It is merely a purchasing agreement. |They did not test their approach to the problem with a small test patch. |The management is hard to reach; no business address, e-mail and phone only. |The management does not take financial responsibility for anything. The student is a stand-alone business. |The student painter supervisor pays a major (40%) royalty for the management and marketing. The laborers get little - fixed amount for each job and suffer the lost time on problems and rework. |The bid price was somewhat high, but we were trying to help the Student Painter in the neighborhood. |I cannot recommend this, the "backing" by Sherwin-Williams does not make them competent!

Description of Work: I requested a free estimate through the 'Find A Painter' form on the company's website. The form states "Finding a painter is easy. Simply fill out the form below and we will have a manager contact you for a FREE ESTIMATE!". I have not received a response. It has been about 1 week.

To make a long story short don't waste your time or money. |They are not even based in Fort Wayne but in a suburb of Detroit.Reminded me of Fuller Brush and Mary Kay and all those other schemes were someone takes a slice. People on the phone were unprofessional & flippant.

Description of Work: I hired Student Painters to paint the outside trim on my house in Lafayette, Indiana. Things were fine at the beginning, however that changed when they painted the trim that comes in contact with the brick. I could not believe how much paint was slopped onto the brick, and how easy it would have been to avoid the problem by using some basic painters' tricks. The person in charge of the crew tried to remove the paint from the brick with very little success. I finally got it off myself using a power washer. What really upset me (because I spent many hours working to clean-up the problem they caused) was when I asked for an adjustment on the price and was told that would not happen, even after I reminded them their contract states the work would be "conducted in a good workmanlike manner consistent with accepted industry standards." I have used Thayer's Painting twice for interior work and was extremely pleased. I wanted to give some college students a chance to make some extra money because the job was not that hard, and it was outside, so I thought "how much damage could they do?" Unfortunately I found out.
