It went very well! Jay was punctual, professional, friendly, patient (I ask a lot of questions), and thorough! My garage doesn't leak during or after rain storms anymore! I would highly recommend Ridgecon!
Description of Work: My roof leaked, but the roofer who originally installed a roof did not respond. Recalling the great job that Ridgecon did installing insulation and roofing vents, I gave them a call. Jay came over immediately, and did not stop until he found the cause of the leak: shabby workmanship from the original roofer, who installed flashing, but not "subflashing." In fact, he installed it by caulking the flashing, not sealing it.

It went very well overall. Pluses - They work very QUICK and WELL. The extra singles from the last pack were left for me. Only found a few nails. I didn't think about removing some cement oranaments in flower bed under overhang, thinking they were shielded from overhang. No time at all after arriving they had pulled them away from the house with care (and that was my responsbility) and they offered to return them at end of the day (which i did). Crew leader and I talked mid day and he mentioned that some work that should be performed to chimney and siding. Also, liked the fact that my sales rep (Tony) not only called me but stopped in to see how things were going. Team at office (Ashley) sent many emails telling me what to expect, things I need to do prior to work day, and updates/colnfirmation of events. I like the fact that the 50yr warranty is transferrable once plus no worries if Ridgecon did go out of business because GAF (shingle manufacturer) will provide another to take care of any warranties issues, if they should arise. You don't get that with a local company. Everything was great with dumpster service they provided too. Neutral/negatives - One of facia boards on the 1 car garage needed replacement but something that appeared to be abnormal or something and I think they felt this wasn't normal item for them to do, ( I don't remember exactly) but telling me was overlooked. Wished crew leader would of mentioned to me. I am not qualified to say but I thought the relocation of the bathroom vent could of been better placed (to allow for better duct work routing). Suggestions - Crew leader do a post work verbal report with you before leaving if you are present or a written report left in door if not present, to warn of items found that should be addressed or of concern and such. For all I know they could do this (as I was home) Other - My roof had a lot of problems (I seen this by wood removed on the ground) so I am posting the quoted price in approx cost but was only about 400 higher and a lot of wood was replaced. The cost of the roof may sound expensive but was pretty close to 30yr roof replacement when calculated to cost per year and multiplied by 50, which will save me money in the long run (in 30 yrs what is the cost of labor and supplies going to be)?
Description of Work: Total re-roof for my home with 2.5 attached garage and 1 car unattached car garage. Remove 7 can vents and install ridge vent as well as relocate bathroom vent. I chose the 50 year roof premium

Jay from Ridgecon is the best! After the original roofer failed to return my calls regarding a garage thank leaked during storms, I was beside myself with worry. I didn't know who to trust or if I should try for a fifth time to call the original roofer. Suddenly, I remembered the marvelous and efficient job Ridgecon did when they added vents to my roof and attic insulation, and the tips that Jay gave me when I wanted to conserve energy. I got a hold of Jay on Ridgecon's Facebook page. He was as friendly and helpful as always, and said he could come by the next day. He could sense my concern and worry -- and said that we would get to the bottom of this! Arriving on time, Jay examined the leaks and wet garage floor; he determined that the problem was the upper flashing. Upon examination, he found that the former roofer didn't overlap the shingles and flashing, and that water was leaking through -- and veering toward another area of my overhang (underneath). Within no time, he had the problem fixed, and did a neat job cauking/tarring. He also fixed the lower flashing -- which was void of "sub-flashing" -- and had been sealed with caulk. (There was just a tin-looking top flashing material covering the area, and the caulking had all but disintegrated.) He added the "sub-flashing" and securely sealed everything! Within days the next big storm arrived. I placed my bucket out -- just in case. But I awoke to a completely dry garage. In fact, it was so dry -- it had that "dry' garage smell! Now I don't have to worry about leaks, damage, or falling due to a wet floor. Jay is a joy to work with. He's reasonably priced, very friendly, professional, patient (I ask a lot of questions), thorough neat, and knowledgeable! I will definitely rehire him, if I need any further roofing or gutter needs!
Description of Work: He repaired, replaced and added flashing on area connecting the house and garage.

These guys did a great job, they even worked in the rain to my surprise. We got several quotes and their prices fell in the middle, but the quality of the materials and the warranty was very good compared to other contractors. The job was done very quickly, they moved furniture and cleaned up after themselves. I have zero complaints and I am glad I choose this company.

Salesman was outstanding! He listened wrote down the important things to me, and delivered as promised! Thank You Tony! The Gals behind the scenes were awesome! If you don't want to talk to the man in charge, these gals know what's going on! I would suggest to Ridgecon to send those ladies on a nice Caribbean cruise! They deserve it! The workmanship, costs, communication, was all around a great experience. It was in fact so good, that I hope I don't see them again for another 25-30 years,( for another roof!) Thank you, Ladies, Tony, The crew of Ridgecon!
Description of Work: Stripped Old Roof installed ice guard, 15# tar paper, Shingled new asphalt shingles. The service was exceptional! Everything arrived as promised! The crew was quite quick! came back the next day to touch up here and there! Clean up was done so well you would never known they were there! I figured 3 days. They got it done with a crew of 7 in a day and a half!

A severe windstorm damaged our roof. We had estimates from 4 other companies before we contacted Ridgecon. The consult was great. The rep was honest. They told us what we needed to do, and how it is supposed to be done. Their price was fair. We received estimates from 3500.00 up to 12000.00 (on a 1200 sq ft house, mind you). From first contact to the last, Ridgecon arrived when they said they would and did what they said they would do. They were SUPER clean. The only reason I could tell that work had been done was because my roof was new! No garbage. No nails. No debris. This was pretty important to me considering I have 2 kids and animals that are frequently outside. The experience I had with Ridgecon as a whole was outstanding!

Before: When you request synthetic underlayment, you get Shinglemate, which Ridgecon?s owner Matt Elie says is synthetic because there is fiberglass in the felt paper. The manufacturer GAF describes Shinglemate as a felt paper product. Install day Dec. 8, problem# 1: After a tear-off and beginning the work, they left roof boards raw and put tarps on when they could not finish on that first day, with rain predicted and dark clouds coming, which resulted in the rain coming in between the boards and flooding the plaster living room ceiling from the top, later cracking it straight through, and throughout the whole living room, with the sheetrock base loose and pulling away. One week later, Dec. 15: I called Ridgecon to report water in the attic, and they warned me they would charge $100 to come if it was not their fault. Coming out to check on the water into the living room, the original Ridgecon crew leader saw and removed the one obvious piece of insulation where water dripped on it in a line parallel with the roof boards, wiped up some water, and left. Before closing the door, I went back up in the attic and found that water had seeped under the other insulation covering most of living room area. I immediately called him to come back, five minutes after he had left, but he didn?t want to return because he was going elsewhere for the afternoon, so I was left to take out the wet insulation myself rather than leave it up there to continue the soaking process. It was a wet dirty job. This is documented as well as everything since. One and a half weeks later: The friendly Ridgecon office calls me and offers me up to $200 if I would make recommendations for them and two people sign up. I said it was really not appropriate. Two weeks later: Ridgecon sends their painter friend over to assess and fix the situation as he does on other jobs where Ridgecon messes up in a similar way. In this case it is not similar to other repairs he has done for Ridgecon because it is a plaster ceiling. He knew the plaster was fully compromised by getting soaked, but did not seem familiar with the construction of a 1964 house. His only offer was to cover the plaster ceiling with drywall, stopping before the coves. I said this is not a good solution because I want the plaster restored. He called again a couple weeks later to ask me what I think of his drywall-over-the-cracked-plaster offer as I told him I had found a proper wet-plaster repairman. Install day Dec.8, problem# 2: Under direction of owner Matt Elie personally that very first day, Dec. 8, the crew leader installed the underlayment and flashing incorrectly at the chimney, later creating large leak #2. Feb. 6: Water was coming in through the plaster family room ceiling, near the chimney, damaging that ceiling as well, prompting me to call Ridgecon, who offered to send me out condensation literature and warned me they would charge me $100 if it was only condensation, which it obviously was not. The $100 charge is another way to intimidate the customer or suggest it is the customers fault. While being polite initially, attempts at belittling and talking over you will happen in later conversations, as with me. Feb. 7: The same Ridgecon crew leader came out to look on the roof, decided to walk out on the aluminum awning to take the down low pictures Ridgecon?s owner told him to take, leaving eight foot-sized crushed areas, and then left without saying anything. Feb. 9: Owner Matt Elie came to see the chimney leak, crunched awning, and damage to the living room ceiling. He photographed the footprints on top of the awning in the snow. We discussed the professional wet-plaster repairman I had found through Angie?s List, and he told me he?s going to take the money out of his crew leader?s earnings to pay for it because he is not going to use insurance. I don?t know why the salesman bothers to say they have insurance. The owner did tell me then that insulation should go back up in the attic where the soaked insulation had been. This of course would have been his job to do, but he did not do this. March 6: I called GAF regarding the ?Golden Pledge? and found I wasn?t even registered because Ridgecon had not sent in the money I paid them three months earlier. I had paid $600 extra for the ?Golden Pledge?, which does not seem worth it anyway because GAF only says go back to the installer. Mid-March: After weeks of personally scraping peeling paint and running a dehumidifier and fan to dry the ceiling, I had the wet-plaster repairman scheduled to begin the partial tear down and repair of the living room ceiling. When I contacted Ridgecon for the deposit, I was told to call back. Ridgecon?s owner then called me and told me he was going on vacation to Florida, was not going to pay for the professional wet-plaster repairman, whose estimate was very reasonable considering the work, but wanted to send over the same crew leader, who walked on the awning and man-handled the tarps, to do the wet-plaster ceiling repair along with his painter friend who twice offered only to put drywall over the plaster. Finding this solution irresponsible and non-acceptable, and fraught with the opportunity to make more multiple and ongoing mistakes, I refused, but as an alternative the owner offered me a tiny fraction of what it would cost to fix my house. We have been at a standoff since then, even after calls and many emails. I just want my house to go back to the condition it was before Ridgecon ever came over. April 3: I will say that they did come out in April, tore up the chimney area, Matt Elie identified the mistakes in original installation, and then put it back together, except their ?correction? left a ¾ inch mismatch hole between the flashing pieces, inviting water and ice expansion next winter, further problems, and more discussion next winter. After many conversations about this, the hole still remains, just as the much larger damage to my cracked-through plaster ceilings and my crunched awning with a hole in it. Experience with Ridgecon?s owner: Whether it?s because of his knowledge and use of construction law or the fine print on the back of their contracts, they feel no consequence of destroying a person?s house, at best sending out the same people who continued to destroy things while going to fix earlier mistakes to do work they have never done, probably because it is free labor to them. Matt Elie has alternately described the very same people as trainees, as in ?come-on-give-them-a-break?, or as professionals, depending what fits his ongoing storyline at the time. Everyone is welcome to visit my house that has had Ridgecon ?professionals? working on it. BBB: Ridgecon does not seem afraid to have angry customers because they think no one else will ever know. Certainly no one looking at the Better Business Bureau website will ever know because businesses pay them to keep bad news off. Try to post a negative review about Ridgecon there; no one will ever see it. PR and advertising: I wish more people would have posted somewhere so that I would have known about Ridgecon, other than their own concerted public relations efforts. You can see by the recent reviews below that their reaction to the two ?D? ratings was to post a non-member puff-piece. And no, their new customer relationship management software does not make up for their attitudes about quality and destruction. As I said, they did offer me $200, after destroying my plaster ceiling, if I would recommend them to up to two people who would buy. Conclusion: After their negligent work, I just want my plaster ceilings and still today messed up awning to be restored to what they were before Ridgecon ever came, made sound and straight especially in case of partial tear down and ceiling restoration, by a knowledgeable, professional wet-plaster repairman, and not a mistake-prone roofer and painter/drywall person, especially with this long story of damage and continued damage to other things. It has been a long sickening story for the whole family, including my now 94-year old father, taking way more personal time and physical effort than a customer should have to ever put in.
Description of Work: I signed with Ridgecon on Nov. 11, 2014 for a tear-off and installation of a new roof specifically asking for synthetic underlayment, and paying extra for the special GAF Golden Pledge. They finally showed up on a rain-predicted December 8 to begin the work.

Response from Ridgecon Construction, Inc. - Roofing Above All
Mr. lengthy documentation is filled with exaggerations, half-truths and his incorrect assumptions stated as fact. The Ridgecon team has always been upfront with Mr - especially when it came to acknowledging our mistakes. We will take this opportunity to briefly address the facts of his complaint and set the record straight as simply as possible. -Mr. indeed contracted with Ridgecon for roof replacement. -There was a storm overnight and Ridgecon’s tarp job simply did not hold up in it. -The home's interior was damaged. -Ridgecon made immediate efforts to remedy to resultant damage by paying over $375 to have Mr. home professionally dried out. -Next, Ridgecon immediately got bids on the interior repairs through trusted vendors. -Mr. Geletka insisted on having the repairs performed by a contractor charging nearly double the most expensive bid Ridgecon had received. -Mr. contractor required half down, a practice Ridgecon never subscribes to as a contractor or as consumers. Trustworthy contractors have lines of credit with suppliers, enabling them to ask for small deposits. In our industry large deposits are a red flag. -Ridgecon maintained open communication with Mr. throughout the attempted reconciliation process. Ridgecon deeply regrets the circumstances that lead up to the leak and damage at Mr. Geletka’s residence. And we recognize that an unexpected turn of events like that would be frustrating - at the very least. Further, as a family owned/operated company, we understand that the health and wellbeing of a family member take priority over all other things. As such our owners made a personal effort to resolve the matter with Mr. quickly. But, after lengthy phone calls, emails and multiple onsite meetings, no resolution could be reached. His pattern of twisting the honest hearted statements of our representatives made further contact between us impossible. As such our insurance agent is resolving the matter on our behalf. The damage done at the Geletka home was entirely accidental and at long last can be repaired. However, the same cannot be said for the deliberate effort that Mr. made to vilify Ridgecon. Our reputation is the reason we’ve operated successfully for over 20 years in the Macomb and Oakland County areas. Is our record perfect? No. No company's is. But it’s far better than the F rating given us by Mr. Third party verified customer reviews can be seen here: http://bit.ly/1E1eneY Lastly, Mr. can rest easy with the roof installation. Not only did the roof installation pass Ridgecon’s rigorous inspection. It has also been determined above board by third parties including the City of Warren and GAF.

Initially, our experience was very good. The salesman was very knowledgeable, courteous and answered all of our questions. He did a very good job of explaining their approach and how they are different from the competition. He especially explained their warranty and how they are one of the area's only GAF Master Elite Roofing Contractor and only use their own crews. Ridgecon had a great price and we elected to use them for the job. The experience went down hill from here. 1. We signed the contract in mid-July and the job wasn't complete until the end of September (we were told 4 to 6 weeks) 2. The job took over a week to complete (we were told 2 to 3 days) 3. After a few comments by the crew leader, we realized at the end of the job that the crew was not a Ridgecon crew, but an independent. 4. We had window screens that were damaged during the installation. The crew leader said he would take them to be repaired and return them in a week. After multiple un-returned phone calls to the crew leader I was told by Ridgecon that nobody could get a hold of him (because he is not an employee). Our screens were finally returned 6 months later. 5. Multiple calls for warranty repair due to blown off end caps. During one of these calls it was discovered that one of the shingle caps installed by the original crew was a different color than the installed roof. 6. Leaky roof. I called for a warranty repair due to SEVERE leaking following several rain storms. I was told I would receive a call back to schedule the repair and didn't hear anything. Called back a week later and was told my request was mis-placed and I would hear back from somebody. I did get a call from a repair person and was told he would call me when they were coming. Didn't hear anything again, and called back and was told that the repair had been completed. When I asked what was done, I was told that some nails were caulked. I DO NOT recommend using Ridgecon. They have a good sales pitch and price, but their installation quality is very poor.

We wanted to take a moment to respond to this Angie’s List member’s complaints. Due to the severe winter weather in our area last year, Ridgecon had quite a backlog of jobs to work through. In an effort to meet our clients’ demands for new roofs more rapidly, we sought additional installation assistance from new crews. Unfortunately, in this particular instance, the new crew’s workmanship was not representative of the quality that Ridgecon and our clientele demand. As such, we whole-heartedly apologize for this Angie’s List member’s disappointing experience. Since his unpleasant experience last fall, Ridgecon has implemented a new customer relationship management software and improved internal systems to insure that workmanship quality is up to peak standards and the rare warranty call is handled more promptly.

It looked beautiful until we had another contractor come to review a bathroom remodel and entered the attic for the first time since the roof was replaced. At the time the roof was replaced, we had some wood replaced, but zero black mold. Now our attic is filled with it. We called immediately as the exterior inspection showed many failure points. Two of the ridge caps are missing and the vented from our bathrooms have not been done correctly. We have several leaks and now have major wood damage that was not there in 2012 when the roof was replaced. We paid over $10,000 for what we expected to be quality work. Now we had to put $100 deposit for them to come and inspect for warranty fix. I have been hospitalized several times with severe allergy/asthma/pneumonia issues, on top of nearly constant sinus and upper respiratory infections. I am giving Ridgecon the chance to make this right as I have lost 2.5 years of my life and nearly died with the pneumonia as it was so severe my heart was impacted. I will update my review when we get the warranty inspection done. In the mean time I paid $198 for a special air filter for my bedroom as i have severe breathing issues. I hope the company sees this review and our request for warranty inspection and take it seriously. I have 3 children in my home as well, one with asthma that developed about 1 year after the new roof was installed. Again, none of the damage we see today was visible to me when the job was completed. I hope Ridgecon takes this seriously and corrects all the issues so I can list them as a good company. Otherwise I will need to contact my attorney and submit a large lawsuit to include my medical bills (that have exceeded $16,000 over the past 3 years.). At the time of the installation I felt Ridgecon was an excellent provider, but finding this today and knowing my health has been significantly deteriorating over the same time frame makes s strong connection. I just want to have a solid roof and safe home.

Ridgecon is very sorry to hear about the health problems the client is experiencing. That must be a very difficult situation to go through. We sincerely hope she recovers fully. However, Ridgecon is not to blame. We installed the all the roofing and ventilation components we were contracted to install. The intake ventilation products the client claims were missing, are indeed installed. The Ridgecon roof technician that inspected the roof installation was able to confirm and document installation of all items installed according to our agreement. The client's claim that a Ridgecon technician confirmed improper installation of any products by Ridgecon's crew has been investigated and found to have no basis. The Ridgecon staff maintained communication with the client until the time that the client sought legal council. Then the matter was turned over to the Ridgecon's insurance company and their legal department. The insurance company has since documented all written and verbal correspondence with the client/their legal council. We have their assurance that they have responded promptly to all communications from the client/their legal council and will continue to do so.

All in all, once the crew started it went ok. We are happy with the roof. During the installation of shingles one of the vent openings were covered up and then we noticed a vent missing. Foreman had to locate the opening and direct crew member to install the missing vent. Also, contract indicated the flashing around the chimney would be replaced, this was not done at time of shingle installation. We had to point out to the company that this was not done. A crew member came back 2 days later to install the flashing. He had to remove many of the new shingles that were installed and then had to replace them when the flashing was installed. The entire job took about 5 hours. Our biggest issue with the company is getting on the company's "schedule." It took 8 weeks from the time we signed with the company. I called them every week after the 4th week to find out when they could do our roof and I was told the same thing, they would call a couple days before they are scheduled and we would have to be patient. We finally got on their "schedule" when my neighbor (2 doors down) called them about their roof, an emergency because they have leak and damage and they saw the company sign on our lawn. The neighbor got on their schedule within 2 weeks of signing, so now for the company's convenience, they will now schedule our roof. They did our roof first and then moved on to the neighbors the next day. I don't think it was fair that we had to wait 8 weeks to get our roof done. What if my neighbor didn't sign with them? Would we still be waiting?

Ridgecon genuinely appreciates the [member name removed] business. We are happy to see that the end result - however lengthy the wait - was a successful roof installation. There are many factors that can contribute to the lengthy delays we have experienced this roofing season. Ridgecon thanks all its clients, including the Pideks for their patience in dealing with a shortened season due to the long bitter winter. In addition, during the 8 weeks the Pideks waited, we had 52 work days. During a typical work day Ridgecon completes ~2 jobs. However, during the 52 days the Pideks waited, we experienced 23 days of complete rainout, resulting in significant delays not typical to our schedule. The chimney flashing and covered vent were on the work order as Mr. [member name removed]stated. And while we wish things like that were never missed during the installation, they occasionally are. Our final foreman's inspection is designed to button up any items overlooked by the crew. However, Mr. and Mrs. [member name removed] astute observations were ahead of the curve. Great eye! Again, thank you for the business and your patience.

They had very good communication, and they were very professional. They are GAF certified, which is good for their single warranty. My dad used them at their house, and I was very impressed with them. The turn around time was very quick, and they finished the whole job in one day. The communication was really good too. They were a little on the expensive side, but I think it was worth it.

Great company. They use high quality materials, and offer them at the same prices other companies offer 20 year cheap "builder's" grade products for. Salesman from this family owned operation provided detailed information during the initial estimate answering all my questions. Gave "bottom line" pricing to me in 30 minutes. Most of the other companies (Hanson's, etc) I received quotes from tried to ploy me with sales gimmicks that took over 2 hours of my time. Thanks Tony. Have a 1700 sq ft roof which took them a little over 9 hours to complete. Crew was extremely thorough to ensure all materials (nails, garbage, etc) were cleaned from property ensuring they left my home exactly how it was before they came.
Description of Work: Removed existing roofing shingles and replaced with GAF Timberline HD 50 year shingles. Installed 2 new air vents and removed 1 vent which was not needed

This is a great company!!! .The crew for tear down arrived early in the morning and got the roof clean in just a few hours. After they got done they cleaned up real well. The roofing crew started right after that and let me tell you that this crew is one of the most professional crews that you can find. After they did an excellent job on the roof they cleaned the gutters, got everything off the roof and all went around the house picking up everything that was left. I have a 2,000 square foot home and they did the job in one day. THANKS RIDGECON.

Ridgecon Construction did our roof. Their prices were reasonable. Four other people around here had their roofs done by Ridgecon too. They were good, they were professional. They got it done, it looks nice. It's been six years and it's not leaking!

These guys had the best price. I was leary because they did not give a written estimate. And I ultimately chose another company because Jay called me and told me if I did not act quickly (a day or two) then the price would go up. Tony was my sales person and he was patient, explained things well and timely. I was totally turned off by the hard sales call from Jay. And put your estimates in writing! Thanks!

I had the roof replaced on my house by Ridgecon Construction and I was more than happy with the outcome and the whole process. I did some research, got a few quotes and I decided to go with Ridgecon based on reviews, references and materials.Jay is very professional and knowledgeable and will guide you through the whole roofing replacement process. He will explain to you the differences between many types of materials that you can pick for your new roof (underlayment, shingles, vents) and you will want to know this. They had an opening sooner than I expected and since the weather was beautiful I decided to do it that day.The crew for tear down arrived early in the morning and got the roof deck clean in just a few hours. After they got done they cleaned up real well. I did not find a single nail in the grass. The roofing crew started right after that and let me tell you that this crew is one of the most professional crews that you can find. After they did an excellent job on the roof they cleaned the gutters, got everything off the roof and all went around the house picking up everything that was left. They were done with everything by 3:30 pm and I am really happy with the new roof. They will give you a free quote and believe me you won't be disappointed.

Company provided estimate that was very cost competitive with the other 5 proposals I received. Services were completed for quoted price on time and with good quality. I would recommend this vendor and would also use them again.

It went better than we could have hoped. The work was performed in a timely and professional basis. The results were outstanding. We live in a two story colonial with attached garage. Surrounding the house we have extensive mature landscaping of which we are very proud. A concern was that the job would be completed with out any damage to this landscaping. The end result was that there was no damage at all and that the clean-up was near flawless. The workers who performed the work were great, very courteous, friendly, and willing to answer any and all questions. It was overall a great experience.
Description of Work: The old roofing was removed (total tear down). New roofing was installed; this included new vapor barrier and vents.

Had estimate scheduled for 6/29/10. Salesperson called me about an hour before scheduled estimate time to tell me he was going to be late. I told him I wouldnt be able to accomodate, he needed to be on time because I have another estimate coming after him. As soon as he heard about the other estimate, he told me he was not going to come out and to give him a call after I get all my estimates so he could beat my best price. Dont think so, already wasted enough time making arrangements to meet him. I am surprised, figured the way things are going in Michigan, every contractor would be happy to get a chance at more work.

Response from Ridgecon Construction, Inc. - Roofing Above All
Ridgecon is very disappointed that this Angie’s List member felt is necessary to post such a negative report, especially since Ridgecon welcomed the opportunity to provide a bid and was even willing to price match the member’s best bid. In an effort to be courteous, Ridgecon’s sales rep telephoned the member to let him know he was running a few minutes late. While we do our best to keep our scheduled appointments, it is difficult to gauge exact arrival times. Since the member had several estimates scheduled back to back, he was unable to accommodate a later arrival time. The sales rep spent a few minutes on the phone with the member, at which time the member stated his main criteria for selecting a roofing contractor for his rental property was price. In an effort to provide the member with the best price and win his business , the Ridgecon rep suggested we reschedule after the member had all his other estimates. At that time, the member appeared agreeable to this suggestion. Evidently that wasn’t the case. Ridgecon apologizes for any miscommunication on this front and for the inconvenience of running late on our scheduled appointment. Folks who spend their days in traffic traveling from one sales call to the next can certainly understand that no matter your best efforts or intentions, sometimes traffic and construction gets the best of us all. Please read other member reviews to see how Ridgecon customers are treated across the board. Thanks!

It was excellent! We were really pleased with them. They cleaned up, were personable and did just a wonderful job! Even at the end of the day they came back and finished some molding around our chimney that needed a little work before they left. We've recommended them to several neighbors.

The tear off and installation was an example of military precision from start to finish. The job was scheduled to start at 7:00 am. At quarter to, a dumpster was dropped off in the driveway. At 7:00 am, everyone assembled (in matching t-shirts). By 7:15, there were 8 people on the roof starting the tear off. Just when this was being finished, a truck showed up with all the needed supplies. By 1:00 pm, the installation was complete and the cleanup finished. Everyone was busy the whole time, eather working on the roof or cleaning up on the ground. At 1:30 pm, a truck arrived and removed the dumpster. I had the whole afternoon to admire the results of their work.
Description of Work: Complete tear off of existing 2 layers of shingles and covering, then install new roofing on 1521 sq. ft. ranch style home. Inspect roof boards and replace as needed, about 50 feet of 1 x 6 lumber. Installed GAF Weather Watch granular surfaced leak barrier Professional Grade from edge for 6 feet, GAF Weather Watch and closed valleys, GAF Weather Stop Starter Strip, GAF Shingle-Mate Roof Deck Protection roofing felt, GAF Timberline Prestique P30 Pewter Gray High Definition Shingles. Installed DCI SmartVent along the 3 sides of the hip roof and 13 GAF Master Flow Aluminum Slant Back Roof Louvers for ventilation. Replace flashing, add counter flashing and Weather Watch around chimneys and a Cricket above each chimney to deflect water to either side. Protected all landscaping and cleaned up all debris.
