Called for an estimate never responded!!

Dan Molnar tested me shortly after I messaged through Angie's list. Very courteous. Within a few days i had a quote that was better than I had expected. A little over 4 weeks later and everything is done and to a level of quality that honestly exceeded my expectations. The crew who did the concrete were polite and professional, the slab is smooth (they apologized for it not being better- the weather wasn't great but it looks perfect to me) and they cleaned up everything- including excess concrete piles. Their carpenter built custom doors for the previously unfinished and irregular entrance and they are of very good quality down to the hardware. I have dealt with many contractors before and without exaggeration this is the best company I have ever dealt with. I recommend them highly.

We called this contractor twice and left messsges but no return call. We would have appreciated a quick call back to let us know if he was too busy and not interested in the work

We contacted Molnar Construction for an estimate on our master suite addition to our house. At first, they were very professional, punctual, and responsive. They came out and took a look at what we were looking to have done, and said they would get an estimate written up. We waited. No estimate arrived. We called, but there was no answer. Left a message, but they left us hanging. It has been several months now, and we still never received an estimate, or even any contact to let us know they were no longer interested in the job. Seemed like a good company at first, we wish we could have worked with them.

The whole project went very well. Dan came out to give us an estimate. He went over the project. He gave us the information we needed to make a good decision. We had a small existing concrete slab and did not want to tear it out. Dan said we could keep it and add the additional concrete slab. They would tie in the existing and the new slab together. His crew performed the job professionally. They asked me questions about how I wanted the cement to be done. Dan also suggested moving the air conditioner out, laying the cement, then moving the air conditioner back. Dan had an air conditioner service man, Tim, do the work. Tim did hook up the air conditioner, checked the coolant, and made sure it worked before leaving. He also did this in a timely and professional manner. The crew completed the work per the estimate. The crew, headed by Nick, came to work when they said they would. They kept me informed about the progress of the project everyday. They were on-time, professional, courteous and worked extremely hard. The crew really took pride in their work. They cleaned up the area and tried to make as little impact on the rest of the yard as possible. Dan stuck to his estimate. Dan also answered my texts on-time. He was very good at communication. There were no surprises. We love area under the deck. now. It was a pleasure doing business with them. I would highly recommend this company.

Dan and his crew were excellent to work with. We had a big project and from the initial contact to get an estimate to the last paint stroke, he was attentive, easy to reach when needed, dealt with a few unexpected crises quickly and efficiently and did a great job. We had an architect and another contractor specifically for the Endless pool, and Dan worked well with them as a team. He has a small crew, but everyone was very pleasant, did great work, showed up every day, worked hard and cleaned up, and were easy to interact with. We were also very impressed with the subcontactors he works with, and would be very pleased to work with them again. We ran into a few issues: The day that they removed our roof, we had a sudden rainstorm, which caused water to leak into our house, and while they were trying to shore up the water, our dogs got loose and escaped the house and yard. Dan immediately contacted us (we were gone for the day),and had people cleaning up the water and covering the roof as well as had people driving around the neighborhood to look for our dogs. They took care of all the extra drywall and painting for the water damage and the dogs were fine (just dirty and tired) when we found them. We felt as though he cared not only about the job, but about us and our pets, throughout the remodel. We also had some difficulties when it came to the pool installation, where some measurements between what we received from the pool company and what we had on our plans ended up differently to what we expected. Dan and Eric came up with a good plan on how to accommodate the changes and the end result is even better than we thought. Considering that we basically redid our entire exterior and added an additional 1/4 to our house, we feel like we had a pretty easy renovation, and Dan and his crew were a big part of that. A special shout-out to Eric Bates, our carpenter, who did a fantastic job!!

Dan Molnar is great to work with, organized, professional, communicative and personable. He and his crew worked hard and did what was stated in the contract. We are very pleased with the results. Dan offered suggestions that enhanced the plans we had provided him. The work was not started on schedule, partly due to weather, but the quality of the finished product was worth the wait.

Went very well other then they cut the expansion joints too deep that causes water to come into the barn every time it rains.

Called and spoke with the owner. He was polite and did state that he couldn't get to it right away due to other jobs, but did commit to coming and giving me a $ and booking time estimate for later. Did not show up to do this... still looking for someone to do this small repair.

We contracted with Dan at the end of September 2013 to perform repairs to our seawall. Our lake fluctuates in height significantly during the year and we wanted the repairs done in the fall because the lake was low. In fact, in October of that year, the seawall was exposed all the way down and it would have been a perfect time to repair cracks that were in the seawall. Due to scheduling conflicts, Dan wasn't able to get us in in October and it got too cold in November to pour new concrete. Dan and I agreed that the work would have to wait until the spring. The problem with waiting is that the lake level went up a lot and the bottom foot of the seawall was now covered with water. Because I wanted the lower damage to the wall to be repaired, Dan had to modify his estimate to include building an abatement wall and applying an epoxy coating to the wall to fix the cracks. The water abatement wall was not in Dan's wheelhouse and ended up not working at all, so we weren't able to get the lower cracks fixed. Dan poured us a very nice cap to the seawall and widened it so that it could be walked on. He also created a notch for our pier to be mounted in. He was able to fix a couple of heavily damaged spots above the water line and one significant crack in the seawall. The problem is with the cracks that he wasn't able to fix. Those cracks propagated up into the new cap almost immediately which is unfortunate. Overall, Dan has extremely good pricing and his flatwork looks excellent. I'm disappointed that the repairs didn't take place when the water level was low enough because it diminishes what would be an otherwise beautiful job. The quality mark is really a B+ or an A-, but Angie's List doesn't allow those. We have patio and driveway work that we will definitely have Dan do when the time comes, so this overall B review isn't really as negative as it might seem. I think dealing with the water was probably too much for Dan, but everything else is fine. I would recommend Molnar Construction for your concrete work.

Molnar Construction completed a very extensive project that we envisioned in December 2013. Coming from musical families, we had hoped to add a music room addition, off the back of our home and living room, in place of our then existing deck. However, we live in an area where the water table is relatively high, so we weren?t even sure such a project was possible. In addition to that, we wanted the new room well insulated, and also add a new deck with steps to a new concrete patio underneath. This meant building the room on stilts. We also wanted to re-purpose our huge picture window into the new room, not only to save cost but also to capture our beautiful view of woods and pond. We figured the demolition alone for such a project could be challenging, because our home is in close proximity to a nature preserve. Because of that, care needed to be taken for ecological reasons, as well. After interviewing several contractors?we realized not everyone shared our vision. We met with Dan in March 2014 to discuss our goals and consider options. Our first meeting confirmed all the positive feedback we read about Molnar Construction on Angie?s list. From the get-go, Dan was personable, knowledgeable, considerate, and willing to work with our ideas. Although we had acquired three estimates, we felt Dan?s was the most detailed, and fair, considering the proposed undertaking. (Note: our final cost exceeded the original estimate, due primarily to the addition of a new roof, skylight, downspouts, gutter covers, and some extra electrical and carpentry work.) Dan and his crew were amazing!!! The care, positive attitudes, and professionalism they all brought to work each day were high caliber. Every evening, the job site was cleaned up to perfection! We were especially impressed when one of Dan?s employees used a metal detector to remove nails in the grass, after the roofing work was completed. With two dogs, that was an important detail for us. The concrete work on the patio surpassed our expectations ? LOVE all the curves! And re-grading/seeding the yard will be appreciated again next spring. Our project took approximately 8 weeks to complete and was the most enjoyable project we?ve ever undertaken. Molnar Construction has literally made our dreams come true! Easy to work with, their hard work and dedication-to-detail will impact our lives for many years to come. We?d like to personally thank Dan- you undoubtedly have a bright future, based on your personal integrity, up-beat attitude, and knowledge of the industry, as well as your many construction talents. Dan came to my house for an estimate. We walked around my house and I explained what I was looking to have done. He informed me he was busy with other things and that my estimate would take a little longer. It has been a month now and I haven't heard from him yet. Seemed like a nice guy who knew what he was doing but I guess he just isn't interested in small jobs. It would have been nice to know that instead of waiting for weeks for an estimate to show up. **Since my original posting I have been in contact with Dan. He accidentally misspelled my email address and that is why I never received my estimate. Even though I have already hired someone to do the work he quoted me I would definitely have him out to give me another estimate on future projects.**

My building project went very well with Molnar! Great communications, very good pricing, efficient work, very satisfied, highly recommend! ☺ I will be posting pictures soon of the project.

Dan (the owner) was great to deal with. He was responsive through the entire process and his work product was top notch. He showed up when he said he would and the finished driveway looks great. Totally professional and a pleasure to deal with

Dan has completed several projects for us over the last 3 years. We have been very happy with all of the work and the people that work with Molnar Construction. We continue to use him for any projects as we know we can trust his work, level of expertise and timeliness. We have referred several others to Molnar Construction as well, and are so lucky to have found him to help with all of our projects. We ended up deciding against adding on. He was a nice guy when I talked to him on the phone. He was nice when he came out and there was no high pressuring. He took his time to find out what we wanted. He came up with some ideas on how better to satisfy what we were looking for. He got back to us in a timely manner both on the first contact and followup. He was good. Had we decided to do this, we would've probably gone with him.

I am sure they do quality work because they had a good rating but they gave me a really high quote. They were very personable. They came out here and did not charge me for it. They seemed to be honorable and got back to me within a reasonable amount of time with a quote. I discussed the quote with them but they informed me that they could not do better than what they had quoted me. They were fine and I am sure they are good at what they do. They were very professional. I do not want to lowball the job but I just felt they could have done a little bit more what they had quoted me.

Dan from Molnar Construction's price was reasonable and the house was built in the 1940s so he was reasonable about upcharges in terms of finding rotten floor joists or whatever that had to be replaced that weren't part of the original quote. He's a good listener and was able to come up with ideas. He was the one contractor that provided feedback and suggestions. If he didn't agree with something I wanted he would tell me why whether it be from a cost or a structural issue so he was excellent at doing that. Dan from Molnar Construction was very responsive, always kept us up to date where the project was going, and didn't do anything without consulting us. His crew were very professional, very friendly, and they did an excellent job. We are very happy.

Molnar construction recently completed two very large jobs for our house. A complete Master Bath remodel and a wrap around pergola attached to our house. We could not be more pleased with the outcome on both. Dan and his crew are always extremely professional timely and amazingly thorough. Dan is never happy until he hits as close to perfect as possible which was great for us because both of these projects are great for building value in our house as well as enjoying for ourselves. I became aware of Molnar Construction through friends who had used them in the past and their experiences have been as good as mine. Happily, I have also given out Dan's number to friends who have had great experiences as well. I have used Molnar Construction in the past and will immediately call them as needs hit me in the future. They not only do excellent work but treat the job as if it is something they were doing at their own house. No detail is too small.

Dan and his crew were detailed and explained exactly what was involved in the process. They were professional, hard working and lived up to each commitment for completion. The quality of work performed met our expectations, and the price was very competitive compared to other quotes we received. They actually recommended options for us to save money (which was refreshing). I was recommended to Molnar Construction through a friend, and we are very happy with our new deck.
