JMD Wood Restoration

We had a wood glider that was creaking heavily, and we needed the repairs in a short time frame. John told us that he was booked up until that deadline, but took the time to dialogue about the issue by phone and text message. He correctly diagnosed the issue with our glider and suggested the perfect fix. He even followed up a few weeks later to make sure everything worked. We would certainly use JMD Wood Restoration if we ever need a wood repair again!

Response to our inquiry was quick. Price was fair and was under the amount of the estimate given to us. The work was excellent. Our table looks brand new and the refinished top matches our chairs. We would highly recommend JM Wood Restoration!!

The chair was petty much demolished due to an accident. (Don't ask.) Broke my heart too, because my grandma did the needlepoint and it was "always" in her home. No worries, John fixed her up right, repaired and refinished broken wood, repositioned needlepoint and dyed trim to match. We will sit more respectfully on it in the future, but we CAN sit and enjoy it, thanks to John. As others have mentioned, don't be impatient because it takes time to do good work. He is a true artist, and a respectful restorer. The cost was reasonable.

John did an excellent job. The original wood was old and cracked. He rebuilt it to look like the original then reinforced it with new wood where it cannot be seen.

We had two handmade kitchen cabinet doors that were severely damaged after a kitchen remodel. The doors, when they were remodeled, weren't put together well and had actually split into pieces. I was doubtful that they could be put back together again, but wanted to try as the kitchen cabinets are all handmade and we couldn't get an appropriate replacement. I took the pieces to John. He was able to put them back together, match the original finishes that had been darkened with time, re-glue them and they just look beautiful. I was thrilled. John was professional, reasonable, returned the doors before he said he would, and his work was flawless. I am so happy to have him as a resource for this type of work. I just want to add that the doors weren't just split, one of the doors had a sheared off piece at an odd angle, he was able to fix that so it is no longer visible. Perfect!

On November 18th John called and said the chair was done. The balance due was $180.00. The cane was lined up perfectly. The color matched very well. He had also reglued some joints that had loosened as the old glue had dried out. It took a little longer than we expected but as we told him we would rather it take longer and be done well. It was done very well. The total cost was even a little on the low side.

It was fine. He picked up the chair, stripped it, refinished iit and returned it.

Our beautiful Richardson Bros. chairs were falling apart in pieces from dry weather, weather changes, etc. The repairs to the chairs are sturdy and perfect. I dropped them off and picked them up. Everything worked out very well.

I am rehabbing a property and the kitchen cabinets were is good shape but had a few problems with the drawers not working and the cupboard doors not closing. It wasn't a big job but an important job so that I didn't have to buy new cabinets. John saved the day. Good job

John came to the house, gave me estimates, and away he went with the pieces as it was readily apparent that he was reasonable and honest. He was careful to understand how specific I was with the table height, as he was replacing non-existant legs and he was 'spot-on'. He did the work in the timeframe he told us, and at the cost he provided. If I were to do it again, I would be much more specific about color . . . I told him to lighten it 'as best as you can' rather than showing a specific color range. My bad. The piece is much darker than I had hoped, but again, it was a very dark stain on very soft pine, so maybe it could never, ever have been lighter. Recommendation: He did good solid work on very functional everyday pieces. No complaints. I don't know about finer furniture . . . walnut, mahogany, etc. I have not seen his work on those kinds of pieces, and would want to see some of this kind of work prior to giving him my better pieces.

John does excellent work! He restored two pieces of furniture for me, a well-used Ethan Allen kitchen table and an even more well-used Baker Furniture coffee table. The coffee table work, in particular, was outstanding. This 20 year old table had been Thomas the Tank Engine's track yard, the work bench for toy hammers and has hosted numerous tea parties. As you can imagine, there were numerous dents and the finish was gone in places. John restored the piece and I am proud to have it front and center in my family room again. I highly recommend John for his professionalism and expertise.

The day bed was returned in the time promised and after a month of daily use has stood up perfectly. We are very pleased.

John was wonderful. He picked up my chairs and spoke to me at length about what I hoped to have done, offering professional advice on finishes that would work for my pieces. His work is of the highest quality and my chairs are absolutely beautiful.

The work performed made the piece better than new. The wood was also refinished and the stain was matched perfectly. We could not have asked for more. It was well worth the price

Run don't walk to this guy if you need furniture repaired!!! Wonderful service and awesome prices! I am beyond satisfied and happy with his work and cannot tell enough people about him. I would recommend without hesitation to anyone I know.

John did a great job with all four pieces of furniture. These pieces were old and of great sentimental value. From the time that John came and gave us the estimate to the time the furniture repair was completed both my wife and I couldn't have been more pleased. He went out of his way to accomodate us and that was greatly appreciated.

John did a great job refinishing our dining room table after a mishap with nail polish remover. It actually looked as good or better than we first bought it. He originally told us it would take 2-3 weeks but it was done in a weeks time. He also picked it up and delivered it as part of the cost of the job.we would definitely recommend his services to anyone.

John did it very quickly and they really are better than new. He is a great guy and did a great job.
