Response from Active One Construction Company, Inc.
THIS IS NOT OUR CUSTOMER. HE WENT WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY. Honestly, we are very shocked by your review! We thought that we were very responsive to your requests and in a timely manner. Rocky visited your home on Wednesday, 1/7 at 9:00AM. We apologize for not bringing samples to your home but you wanted an estimate on different window brands that we sold. Since you live less than a mile from our showroom, Rocky discussed you coming into our showroom so that you can see the products in their natural environment and make an educated decision on which brand would work best for you. You mentioned that you have had numerous manufactures out to your home and it can get quite confusing; it is always good to be able to view them side by side. You even emailed that you and your wife would come into the office and that your wife got off work at 4PM and even said she could meet during her lunch. Rocky would have done anything to accommodate your wife’s work schedule or come back to your home with some samples after she arrived home from work. We work 7 days a week and we have people at our showroom until usually 7:00PM or even 11:00PM during the week; however, we set our showroom hours earlier since it is a slower time of year in the winter and we do not get very many walk-ins in the winter, this was apparent when Jeff called you after showroom hours. As Rocky had stated when at your home, he could meet you anytime. It is also noted on our website, under our hours, “As always, private and weekend showings are available at your convenience.” We do everything possible to accommodate our customer’s schedules. In regards to the timeline and “the emails” Rocky came back to the showroom on Wednesday and figured your window bid. He then submitted your siding information to three different siding suppliers to get prices on the supplies as he wanted to get you the best price for your siding. He then called you and gave you the window price and then asked if you would like him to run by and bring you the written window bid. You stated that it is best that he does not come by because your dog barks when people come over; therefore, Rocky emailed you at 11:47AM the information as requested. At 12:06PM you emailed Rocky back with questions regarding the quote. Rocky responded at 12:52PM with answers to your questions and advised you he was working on the siding quote which he was. At 1:07PM you emailed Rocky that you would wait for the siding quote and for Rocky to give you some dates and times to meet and you gave Rocky your wife’s work schedule. At 1:17PM Rocky emailed you back and said he can meet tomorrow Thursday 1/8 at 11:00AM or any day the following week and ended with a ? to see what works best for you. At 1:45PM you emailed Rocky about your wife texting you and having found some information on the internet about concerns with the windows and wanted some U-Factors and that you were busy Thursday morning with another window company and an electrician and that you will wait for the siding bid and U-factors and then go from there. At 2:13PM Rocky responded that he has had no complaints on the windows. At 3:02 PM you responded that you were just repeating what your wife had found on the internet and that you will wait for the siding bid and the information on the U-Factors and again go from there and thanked Rocky for his timely responses. On Thursday, 1/8 at 2:08PM you emailed Rocky stating you were still waiting on the siding bid. (Just over 24hrs since he visited your home) and that you were waiting on the U-Factor and that you wanted to make a decision over the weekend. Rocky emailed you back at 2:44PM that he would get you the information tomorrow, FRIDAY. It took time to get the material bids back as we were hit with dangerous weather (we assume that was the delay) therefore, Rocky was not able to get it to you on Friday BUT, he called you on SATURDAY around noon and gave you your siding bid and also gave you step by step instructions on how to get the U-Factors on the manufacture’s website as it was important for you to decide which glass type you wanted as this will change the data. (He contacted the manufacture to get the steps for you as what customers can do on the website is different than us as dealers can do) All the above transpired from Wednesday to Saturday in about a 72 hour time frame. To be honest, it usually takes us longer to get our bids out and may factors go into bidding jobs especially since we want to get the best prices for our customers and use only top quality products. It takes time to gather information. We believe this was an exceptional turnaround time. We apologize that it was not in your 24-48 hour time frame. We are sorry we failed your expectations. We are sorry that our time frame made you so upset and angry as it is so apparent in your review. We have an A rating on Angie’s list. Our customers love our company and our work. Do problems arise, absolutely! However, it is how you rectify the problems that matter. Our customers are very impressed with our Angie’s list reviews!!! The few bad reviews we have are from customers that we did not do business with such as you. It is usually because the price it too high or they have the wrong company or as in your case we did not meet your timetable, even with a 72 hour turnaround. This is to be expected. The internet is a very easy place to express your grievances without a face to face discussion. Anyone can write a review on Angie’s list for any company and not even have had any contact with such company. There is no way to avoid this. We do monitor and we do respond and do note when a client is not ours. In Angie’s list defense, they depend on the honesty and integrity of their members. As with any website with reviews, I always take the bad reviews with a grain of salt when services were not rendered and weight them against the customers that actually hired the company. But most importantly, I make my decision based upon my interactions with the company. Are they honest, reputable, knowledgeable, did they get me the pricing within a timely manner, were they kind and courteous and did they treat me as if my business mattered? As in your case, we exceeded all the above, because your business did matter. You posted this review on Saturday. Rocky spoke with you on Saturday and you had absolutely no questions or concerns at that time after he provided you with your bid and instruction on how to obtain the U-Factor. So we are a bit baffled by this review. We are the only “local” contractor that sells and installs the windows that we bid for you. We wish you all the best with the products that you chose and the “local” contractor that you chose. Again, we apologize for not meeting your timetable expectations and for upsetting you.
