Kevin did a home inspection for me on a 1000 sq. foot house in madison heights. He was so thorough and nice. Very patient with me took me all over the home and showed me everything that needed to be fixed and where everything was located that a home owner should know. He also saved me from buying a huge money pit when he told me about a foundation problem that I should look into in the crawl space, turned out after I got a estimate on it that would cost me 25,000 to fix. I would recommend this company to anyone that needs a home inspection especially first time home buyers it was such a huge relief after he caught a hidden problem I would have never seen. Money well spent and I will definitely be using him again as I continue to look for a house!

Our inspector Kevin did an amazing job! I researched multiple home inspectors before settling on Home Inspection Professionals based on the reviews and their website. I set up the appointment online and the next day they emailed me the balance due at inspection that included more than $250 off the original online quote. The inspector showed up early and took almost three and a half hours walking around the property with me, explaining what needed to be fixed as well as how to maintain the well and septic systems. Since we are first time home buyers, this was extremely helpful. He discovered that one of the showers was leaking, and had rotted the subfloor. The area that was damaged was fairly small, we never would have noticed it without his help! He also took the time to walk the roof in 90 degree weather to make sure everything looked ok. He recommended we get an exterminator because he noticed bat guano on the roof in one corner. He was very helpful in explaining how long (approximately) we could expect the various components of the house to last, as well as what was important to fix immediately and what was not. We did our homework first, and pulled the records on the house from the city and the county and he was able to look at those and let us know what work was permitted and what was not. He also gave us tons of information about the property in general. I am an engineer and tend to ask a million questions and he was very well informed and explained everything to me to my satisfaction. We are expecting our Radon test to come back today (it takes 48 hours to run) and hopefully we will be on our way to owning our new home!

Kevin arrived right on time to meet me and my family to go over a potential new home purchase. He was familiar with the neighborhood and was able to say what was normal for the neighborhood and what would cause problems in the future. He has a good background in various construction trades and asbestos and mold remediation and was able to give lots of tips for future upkeep if I choose to purchase the home. I appreciate that he does free after-sale phone consults if I have other questions related to this home purchase. I'll use Kevin again in the future for investment or other home inspections.

My inspector's name was Kevin, he arrived at the site early and started setting up, being a new home owner i was a bit nervous, however kevin did a great job guiding me through, he explained what every step consisted of and walked me through the inspection. he did a great thourough job and delivered an extremely detailed repot, but most importantly he was very friendly , and very professional, he made you feel very comfortable throughout the process and answered any question i had. overall i would hire these guys again in a heartbeat. kudos to kevin for a great job today.

This provider was fantastic. We had a sudden death in the family and had to ask for appointment to be rearranged and they were very cooperative. Corey showed up early, was very thorough and we've now used this provider twice and today will be a third time since we're having difficulty finding a home without mold in it. Their reports are very thorough and easy to read with lots of pictures.

This is the second time I have had to hire Kevin & Corey to inspect a home for me in the last two months. The first time they saved me from purchasing a money pit! This time they were able to reassure me that the property I was purchasing was a good home for me. I am a single woman with limited DIY skills, no electrical or plumbing projects for this girl. Kevin and Corey said they would begin at one corner of the house and end at the same corner. After they looked around and went on top of the house, they brought me over and literally touched one corner and began walking me around discussing things they saw, positive or negative. They pointed out everything that I would need to know about the property including the items that would need regular maintenance, explaining the process of that maintenance. They showed me areas of the brick that had been 'tuck pointed' in a sloppy manner explaining that while done, could be better and more attractive. The looked in, on, behind, around, under, over, pretty much everywhere and brought me along to see and explained until I understood what they were talking about. Both Kevin and Corey took the time to answer my questions and make sure that I was educated on the house itself and the care and maintenance of the items inside the house. (Furnace, water heater, electrical panel, jetted tub, garage electrical panel, chimney, AC, etc.) These guys are the ONLY inspectors I would ever hire in the future and have already recommended them to anyone I know who's currently in the market. The price was fantastic and the value was unsurpassed.

The guy from Home Inspection Professionals was very thorough, he has done everything very well.

Kevin came out and did the home inspection. He was there for a few hours and did a very thorough inspection of the home. He walked me around the home and pointed out good and bad things. This included outside, attic, basement, etc? He pointed out areas of concern but was clear with what was a real problem and what would need to be addressed at some point in the future. The summary report was completed right away and forwarded to my email. Really liked the service.

The inspection was very thorough. Kevin Stripling was the inspector. I scheduled it on Tuesday, on Wednesday we were doing the inspection. The price with an Angies list coupon was 350. They provided me with a 21 page PDF copy of the report by email. The only thing I would have liked is to get all the pictures that he took. A few selected pictures made the report, however, I would have like all the pictures he took. Overall a very good inspection. He noticed all kinds of stuff I would have missed.

The inspection process went well. They guys were on time and the report was very thorough. They went over the areas of the inspection which required the most attention as well as the smaller issues. They made suggestions about time lines for roof and furnace replacement. Overall they made the process great.

On time, extremely professional and took the time to educate us on future maintenance for the home.

I arrived late and Kevin was already on roof, came down and introduced himself and proceeded to do a walk around of the grounds. Kevin told me about his background and his knowledge base in a general conversational tone while also explaining acceptable FHA standards. After grounds kevin went over exterior of home and explaining what he saw on roof and how it may correlate to the interior. Upon entering he was able too show how roof problem affected interior. He checked all water pressure, electrical outlets, fixtures and doors for functionality. He went in attic reported lack of insulation and stated the best recourse to follow that was most cost effective. Kevin checked furnish and as he viewed heat exchangers noting problem that he was able to visually let see. and noted that it was a potential carbon monoxide problem and noted existing span life of furnish and hot water tank. From the information that Kevin gave me I was able to make a more knowledgeable evaluation of property and gain a better understanding of its cost to repair to value.The report was available with pictures on line within an hour of completion of inspection. Highly recommend Kevin and his company to anyone seeking home inspection services.

Kevin was prompt and friendly. He was very thorough with explaining everything. He was going to look at in the home inspection and was honest about what needed fixing and to not wait too long to fix certain things.

Arrived on time and provided a very thorough inspection for the property, identifying issues and remedies.

Kevin and his associate showed up promptly, explained what they would be doing, and answered all of our questions before getting started. He walked us through both floors of the house, the garage, and around the outside, stopping to explain each item he made note of and answering questions as we went. We covered everything very thoroughly, and Kevin explained anything he was not able to fully inspect at the time. For example, the roof was covered with snow, so they cleared a few areas to get an idea of its condition, but made sure we understood that they were not able to perform a full, detailed inspection and why. Kevin pointed out specifics in each area we visited and addressed all of our concerns, including a crack in the basement wall and an ameteur-wired secondary kitchen. Neither of us has experience as a homeowner or with repairs, so the information and advice he provided was very helpful in understanding what we would be buying. When all was said and done, they provided us a detailed PDF report with pictures via email, which was received before they even left the property. Aside from the good work, both men were friendly, easy to work with, and polite. We would not hesitate to hire them again or them recommend them to others.

Kevin arrived on time and started with a walk-around inspection outside the house while he had me and my realtor wait inside. It was a very cold day and snow covered, so he was unable to inspect the roof; however he did not even get on a ladder to look at gutters or chimneys- things that have been done by other inspectors on a snow-covered roof on previous home inspections. He appeared to be in a hurry to get to his next scheduled inspection, and told me that he had many scheduled for that day. He missed many things- he did not check every outlet, as other inspectors have done in the past, and I did in fact find several that were incorrectly wired after taking possession of the house, as well as non-GFCI -protected outlets above the counters in bathrooms and kitchens (against code), that he did not mention vocally or in the report. He spent a lot of the inspection time filling out the report instead of inspecting and sent it to me before I had even made it halfway home after the inspection. Normally I appreciate timeliness, but this was so fast that many items were overlooked in the inspection report, including the major issue of mold in the crawl space. We had spent quite a bit of time making sure that this would be thoroughly covered in the report so we could reference it in the purchase agreement addendum, and it wasn't even mentioned in the report. I got the impression that he was just trying to crank out inspections and reports. However, even after all this, I was not moved to write this report until we bought the home and tried to move in. I have a pregnant wife and young children, so we made a big deal of the mold in the crawl space in the addendum. We moved in and started removing wallpaper to find black mold saturating the walls all over the 2700 s.f. house. I specifically had him bring his moisture meter to check a spot on the ceiling in the dining room. He certified it bone dry. Now with the drywall removed, there is a leak from the roof that would have settled right above this spot in the ceiling. There was a dark spot at the top of the cathedral ceiling above the fireplace- I asked him if it was just a soot stain, and he replied that, no, it was mold, but not a big deal. Just cover it with Killz. I have since learned from mold remediators that this is HORRIBLE advice. Any time you see mold on drywall, that is just what made it through. What is on the other side will be much worse. This proved to be true in our house. After this experience, I have learned much about mold, and can't see how someone who claims to have been a mold guy before going into home inspections could have missed all the signs: 1)The home had been occupied by an old lady for the previous 60 years with wall covering (wall paper and wood paneling) on everything. 2) There was an odd smell 3) the roof had been tear-off replaced three years prior. Wall coverings provide a perfect breeding ground for mold where there is moisture. What we wrote off as an old person smell we now know is the smell of mold. The roof was replaced for a reason, chances are there had been, if not currently, a moisture issue. Rust on the metal corner beads on the walls was visible- another sign of a moisture issue. So many signs were there, and a customer who was very obviously concerned about the possibility of mold. Now we have completely depleted our financial reserves in trying to remedy this problem. We have no more money, so I have been working on the house after work every day and only see my kids briefly on the weekends before I go back over there. We are living with my sister's family, and tensions are increasingly high. We can't sell the house because of the mold, we can't live there because of the health concerns, and we can't afford to fix it. And this absolutely could have been avoided with an inspector that was more attentive, knowledgeable, and/or present. I took a lot of pictures but haven't yet seen a way to post them in this report.

Kevin arrived on time and started right away. He pointed out every little thing and was very thorough.

We were very pleased with the thorough services Kevin performed. He started our inspection outside the property and went over roofing, gutters, lighting, windows, grading, garage door and landscaping. Along the way he made improvement suggestions as well as products that would be useful in the maintenance of the home. Inside, he went over every room informing us of any defects or issues he thought should be addressed. He checked the water heater, furnace, electricity panel, sump pump, fireplace, and plumbing. He checked the attic space and all windows. Again making suggestions and allowing adequate time for any questions we had. Upon completion we were provided with a very detailed report that included photos and maintenance suggestions and any problem areas that were discovered. I feel I received very professional and efficient service and would surely recommend this company to anyone seeking a home inspection.

The service was excellent! Very thorough and exceeded my expectations.

I think it is difficult to rate a home inspector since you only use one and you do it once every so often. Keven brought his assistant around whom I believe he is training. Overall I would have given it a higher score had Kevin did the whole inspection. Outside Kevin went over the roof, stating that while he did not go on the roof due to weather conditions (snow), he did approximate the age. He also went over gutters, grout, doors, windows, cement walkway and driveway. He answered alot of questions in a short amount of time. On the inside he went over the attic. It was a bungalow so he did not crawl inside but rather commented quickly from the opening. There were many pictures that were taken. Inside the house Kevin's assistant went through the plugs, doors, etc. There was not much gained from the inside that you cannot do yourself. Open the windows make sure they all work, make sure the outlets are grounded or not. There was not much communication by the assistant and myself. In fact I pointed out several things I wanted him to go back over. Finally, we went to the basement where we went over the electrical, heating, etc which was informative. They gave a report that was emailed electronically immediately after the meeting. We spent about 2 hrs total. The reason I give a B is two fold, first the assistant was not much help, was not very personable and did not really point out anything. The second is the report while littered with pictures was brief and vague in descriptions of things and was also filled with preset information that they did not even bother to take out. It may be better to actually go over things and write more detailed report.

Ben was very professional, extremely knowledgable, and thorough. Ben went above and beyond by not only conducting a thorough home inspection but also providing us great tips and recommendations for properly maintainingg and owning a house. Undoubtedly we would recommend Ben to anyone looking for a home inspector for any reason.

Kevin and his assistant Chris performed our home inspection along with the Radon testing. They arrived earlier than scheduled and were already working before my husband and I arrived 1-2 minutes late. Kevin and Chris walked us through every inspection inside and outside of the house. They were very thorough on each item and gave us detailed answers and recommendations on any questions we asked. After the inspection was done, we immediately received our inspection report! The inspection report was very well displayed and documented. I will recommend Home Inspection Professionals to my friends and to anyone.
