We used them to replace a cracked drum in our Samsung dryer. One year later and it is still working like a charm. Their price was more affordable than other companies that we talked to, and the service was performed in a timely manner. Unless, or until, we have an issue with them, they are now on my speed dial for anything related to appliances.
Description of Work: Replace dryer drum.

They are so professional. They are punctual and efficient. They fixed a situation after another company bailed on the project. They care about the customer.

Visit #1) Rand D came out, inspected dryer, and found a burnt wire. They also found that the dryer was catching fire. The repair method was to simply replace the wire that was burnt. $40 service fee, $20 repair fee, and they were gone. However, over the next few days the dryer was overheating, then it ultimately quit. I was quite surprised that during the repair, the service man stood on our kitchen chair to work, knowing our dryer is a stackable, I would imagine that a repair man would bring their own work appropriate step stool. Also, the reason gave for the problem was lint build up around the drum, inside the dryer where you can only get to with the dryer apart. I'm shocked that this was not cleaned during the repair. I would expect a repair man to have a shop vac and if the problem was that too much lint had built up, rather than fixing it and leaving the customer to take the dryer apart to shop vac it out, since you're being paid, you bring your own shop vac and clean it properly. Visit #2) Dryer stopped working. While Rand D came out, they realized it was an element that needed to be replaced, that was the root cause of the burnt up wire on the first visit to repair. The repair man who came out was very friendly. His work was warrantied, so we made it clear that we weren't paying another $40 service call (which the repair man mentioned that he would normally charge $40 to come out again). We stated his work was warrantied for 30 days, so really we're not getting stuck with more of a bill when we already paid $40 for him to come out initially, no way were we paying it again and then labor again and then parts. It was agreed we'd pay $100 for the part, since we would have been charged $160, we settled on $100, taking into consideration money already paid. We paid for the part up front and expected a week or so then a new part and we'd be OK. Between Visit # 2 and #3 is where we lost respect for the company. We were understandable regarding a delay in receiving the part as Easter weekend fell in that time frame and we knew it may take longer. However, when we called, we kept getting the run around, being told the part would be in in a couple days and then we'd hear nothing from them. Finally we called a day before the last visit and were told that the repair man needed to look into this and we'd get a call soon. It was excuses as to where the part was, meanwhile, we had given this company our money and were having to pay to go do laundry at a laundry mat and it was going on a month of waiting for the dryer to actually be repaired after their initial visit. The attitude from the person in the office was not a responsible business attitude, it was pushing the blame onto his repair man and that was very unprofessional. Visit #3) When the part came in, we got a phone call and the repair man was here, in, and out in 20 minutes and our dryer is fixed and working fine days later. The problem with our whole experience was that the initial repair was warrantied and yet we were given hassle regarding how much we were going to pay since the original work was warrantied. Then the lack of communication. We paid $100 for this part up front and to have 2 weeks go by with us calling and to have the office say, and quot;Oh the repair man needs to find out what's going on.and quot; No, don't push the blame elsewhere. I could have ordered the part myself and had it been to us faster than it came in for Rand D. The general tone of the experience after the initial and quot;fixand quot; did not work was that we were an inconvenience to the company since our work was warrantied and they were not going to make as much money off of us as they would another customer, so we were put last in line. When we finally got angry about this, then all of a sudden the part was in and they fixed our dryer. When the repair man came out to actually replace the part and fix the drier, he told us the part had been simply sitting at the shop but no one bothered to tell us that and come fix our dryer. I gotta say I'm disappointed. I was very excited to find this shop that would not rob me blind to fix my dryer, they don't charge the outrageous labor costs a big place would charge, and that makes me very happy. However, the overall experience was not a good one. It took a month to get them to fix our drier which is completely unacceptable. A month of dealing with them was a month too long. The two men who own and run this company need to learn to communicate with each other and to communicate with their customers better. They also need to learn that you warranty your work for a reason and customers having warranty work done are not less important than customers paying full price. You also should treat every customer the same, this company would have gotten alot of business from me and from friends and family members of mine, however, after our experience, we definitely won't be making a call to them again.

Description of Work: R&D promptly came out the next day after making contact with them. I actually called on Sat and left a message and they called back on Sunday just to let me know that they recieved my message and then came out to fix my dryer on Monday about 9 in the morning. Gas dryer didn't heat and R&D had it going in no time flat. Great job, I'll recommend their service to anyone who had appliance repairs.

He was really good and reasonable. He was really quick. For the part, he came out, found something wrong with it, ordered the part, came back and put it in. For the part and the labor, it was $146. Everyone else was going to charge $45 every fifteen minutes but they did not charge that way. I would use his services again in the future.
