TUFF SHED INC. - Royal Oak

I started my process in July 2023 spoke with the salesman a few times about what I wanted out of the shed. I told him I wanted to put a storage loft in the shed and I was told that customers do install them and it will work I also told him I’m 6 feet tall and the 7 foot walls should be ok for the support beams for the loft and he agreed. My she was built 10/27/23 and when I returned home from work that night I noticed the roof was very low. The next morning I went out and started checking and measuring things and found out that the top of the walls are only 6 feet 8 inches and if I did install a loft I would hit my head on the support boards and with the roof at the pitch it is I would only have 11 inches of space before getting to the board going across the rafters. I feel as if the salesman should have told me I would want to go with a steeper roof for what I wanted and I should have also been told that the walls are not a true 7 feet. I’m a mechanic not a contractor or carpenter. There was a work bench included which has nails poking out of the front of it, nails that missed the 2x4’s for the walls, nails that missed the rafters for the plywood on the roof, one rafter has 2 or 3 nails that completely missed the top board of the wall, the rafters at each end of the shed are not full 2x4’s and there are gaps which I feel like should be tighter together for better support. The double door is 5 feet 11 inches not the full 6 feet they said (not that big of a deal). The drip edge was also poorly installed. I feel I was just pushed through the process to get the sale done instead or taking into consideration what the customer wanted. I spoke to a manager today 11/1/23 and he was rude and ended up hanging up on me at the end of the conversation. I DO NOT recommend turf sheds to anyone if I could give a negative star review I would. Do not use this company they just want to get the sale done and make their money they could careless about the customer. I also told them I do not want this shed I want it off of my property and was told that’s not possible even though I found on Google from the tuff shed website I have 5 days after completion to change my mind and today is day 5.

We went through Home Depot for our Tuff Shed. Picked up their flyer there and called the rep, John Lopetrone who was patient , thorough and very personable. He wasn't pushy and he informed us of the great discounts available which was great! We were later contacted by Jackie, who confirmed our order and arranged installation date. My husband and I had different dealings with her yet we both got the same sense that she made you feel as if you were annoying her with your stupidity or something and that you were trying her patience and it was a turn off. We called her to clarify and confirm our loft size order since we noticed the omission on our order form diagram and she said it was understood as long as total sq. ft. size noted was correct which it was. Well, it wasn't because came installation day, the contractors couldn't install the correct loft size we wanted because they weren't told about it they said. We wanted 4 x 12 loft on the front and back of the shed and what they installed was a 8 x 12 instead. My husband decided it was ok so we didn't make a big deal of it. The contractors who installed our shed were really good. Thanks to Gerald, Lee and Josh of GRS JR Construction, LLC. They were professional, efficient, friendly and did a great job! It was for the most part a very good experience we had with Tuff Shed and would recommend them. In fact, we already did with one of our neighbors.

So far so good. Just a bit slow waiting for the permits for the contractor to get the cement in for the new garage. I will keep you posted on our progress.

We had purchased a shed from Tuff Shed in the past and were very happy with all aspects of the installation including custom installing a and quot;roll-upand quot; garage type door that we provided (still new in box). The shed looks and performs great. We have had them out a couple of times for warranty work for very minor issues such as a few nails backing out, etc., and there were no problems. When we decided on a 2nd shed, there was no question on who to call. The rep was punctual and very courteous. No pressure sales. On installation day, they showed up on time, installed the shed and were out within an hour and a half. The crew cleaned up and, other than a 2nd shed, I could not tell they had even been there. Unlike many contractors that I have had to the house, they did not play loud radios or smoke on the property. Very professional. We have since moved and will be calling Tuff Shed in the spring to replace the dilapidated shed at our new residence.
