Description of Work: They put a new roof on our house. This is the third time we have used Tresnak Construction. We would use them again in a heartbeat. They are very dependable, reliable and professional! The owner Tom is a great person to work with. The only downfall was, I didn't know they were with Angie's List and I could have gotten a discount.

Description of Work: Tear off and reroofing, extend soffit on one side of house. |Completed roofing in one day, left site totally cleaned up and came back with new gutter on extended soffit a few days later. Work was well done with no issues.

Description of Work: When moving, we found a leak spot in the corner of a window and found the hole in the roof. My realtor had recommended Tresnak. I called and although their crews were all busy, Mr.Tresnak came out himself and fixed the hole and walked the roof checking for any other problems. | I asked about gutters, the price sounded good so I asked him to go ahead and put me on their schedule. Since I had not moved in yet I showed up |several days latter and the job was done and everything was cleaned up. |Would I recommend Tresnak Construction, in a heart beat, they are great in my book.

+ -1 moreThe shingles were delivered to the roof by the supplier the day before work began. The crew arrived every day for the next three days before 8 am, which was before it was fully daylight. (Tom says he has two crews which have worked for him for many years now as subcontractors). Our crew chief was from Poland, the others were also from Poland or Ukraine but spoke English well enough. They were careful and methodical workers and I am confident they did an excellent job. Each day they did a different section of the roof so no area was left exposed overnight. They worked well past dusk each day, working in freezing temperatures with a bitter wind. They never once came into the house and declined my offers for coffee or tea. They did a good job cleaning up at the end of each day, even on the final day as a severe snowstorm approached.
Description of Work: Tom Tresnak offered us the best combination of price and service for a complete tear off on a large roof. He arrived as scheduled for the estimate and walked the entire roof noting a few weak places in the plywood. He did not go in the attic until a later visit when we asked him to return to answer specific questions. We felt he was up-front and honest with us, and did not try to "up-sell" us on any unnecessary products. We had four estimates: two were similarly priced at just under $10,000 and two were several thousand more, with complete manufacturer's guarantees (based on company certification of methods etc). My husband and I believe the shingle manufacturers are making excellent products now PLUS we have read that the manufacturers will always find a way to significantly depreciate the value of the roof if there IS a problem, so we didn't believe it was necessary to pay more for a fully guaranteed installation from a roofer. We chose Tresnak Construction's offer because it was reasonably priced and Tom took the time to address all of our questions and concerns, in particular: sunroof bubble replacements and a new chimney cap (sub-contracted). At our request, he even organized for some batt insulation to be installed just below the skylights where the blown insulation could not reach. He honored his $500 Angie's list coupon (good through August 2011) when I presented upon accepting the estimate. We requested that he pull a permit at Bloomfield Township which cost us $275 extra but gave us the comfort of knowing we were in compliance with the law. Please note that the company does not accept credit cards.

+ -1 morethey were a little later starting that originally expected, but once they got there, they moved quickly and did a good job. They cleaned up after the job pretty well. We got a slight discount when our neighbors signed up for a new roof at the same time, so they did both houses in a few days. Very courteous and seems to be a very good job. I would use them again.

+ -1 moreHe showed up at 10 am as he said. Wood planks under shingles were coming up. Tom did the repairs that day. He nailed and screwed the planks and sealed up and patched four nail holes from planks. Roof was back to flat when he left.

+ 0 moreThe area above my upstairs dormer was causing a bad leak at the front edge of my house above the window and adjoining front porch below, so water had been going down that wall for years. Ater they rebuilt the roof support and redid that area with rolled roofing materials, the REAL challenge began. The crew removed the vinyl siding on the front face to find rotted wood underneath. They removed the bad wood, saved the window and siding, repaired the wood support to the wall, replaced appropriate weather proofing layers and replaced the window and siding. I don't know that just any roofing company would have been as willing to fix what was found under the siding with confidence and care.
Description of Work: 2 flat roof areas on my 1941 bungalow house were replaced. Water damaged wall under dormer roof was rebuilt. Also redone was the flat area off the back of my garage, wood repair underneath and again, high quality rolled roofing material for flat areas was used. I appreciated the fair price, quality work and pleasant crew. Tom figured just what I needed to fix without unnecessary add on repairs.

He was going for a vacation so I waited for him to come back, and he came on the day he was supposed to. He did a great job. I am very happy with him, and I would recommend him to others. I had difficulty getting people to come and give me an estimate here and this guy was the opposite. He responded to my call and came over to give me an estimate. The price he quoted me was fair. He did an excellent job.
