I had a terrible experience with SKM Property Maintenance and owner Doug King. What was promised as a 10-day deck project turned into a 7-month nightmare. Doug was extremely difficult to deal with—unprofessional, unresponsive, and at times, outright bullying. Midway through, he tried to pressure me into paying an extra $5,000 to finish the job. When I refused, progress stopped. I had to serve a Notice of Intent to Sue just to get it completed. To top it off, they placed the old, rotted bench back onto the newly finished deck—completely unacceptable. The lack of accountability and disregard for quality and customer service was shocking. I would never recommend this company. If you're considering SKM, proceed with extreme caution and get everything in writing. My experience was costly, frustrating, and not something I’d wish on anyone.

The service was excellent. I need to have some repair work done of from door. A section of the door jamb was damaged and I couldn't lock the deadbolt. Ed fixed that section and replaced the piece of molding that was damaged. The deadbolt works great now and the front looks 100 times better. Overall, I give an A+.

It went well. Talked to Doug who gave concise & complete information. Linda in the office was great, really personable and helpful. Patrick on site was awesome. He was conscientious in his job performance, and communication was great. He was pleasant personable. I would hire this company again.

I had a good experience with Doug and Jon. Jon arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it efficiently. He clearly explained the problem and provided helpful suggestions on making the wire route safer. The pricing was fair. I will hire them again.

SKM sent Jon, he did a great job of installing new bathroom exhast fan and vent out of roof. He was professional and friendly. The quality of the work was fantastic. The job was completed on time and to my satisfaction. I'd recommend SKM and Jon for your handyman jobs of this type. Thanks guys!

SKM sent Eric and his work partner Rick to us. They did a great job of tearing off and replacing the old rotted flooring of our front porch while leaving the solid existing railings in place. They also did a fine job of downsizing and re-leveling our old patio making it more manageable for us. This included leveling the ground around the patio so water won't collect and freeze there in the winter. The worksite was clean and all scrap material was bagged and ready to be placed at the curb at the end of each workday. I'd recommend SKM and both Eric and Rick for your handyman jobs of this type. Mark installed 3 exhaust fans in our main bathroom, 1/2 bathroom, and kitchen. Everything was completed as expected. Mark’s father also helped with some small drywall work after the exhaust fans installation. Both were very thorough, professional, and explained all the steps along the way.

Patrick arrived right on time, and communicated with me throughout the whole process. He explained the issue, answered all my questions, and fixed the problem very quickly! As a landlord, I appreciate when I can trust the techs are doing quality work and communicating with me when I can’t be on site - Patrick certainly lived up to that expectation!

Damian was very versatile and business-like. He did everything professionally, communicated well, listened to our preferences and cleaned up thoroughly. We couldn't have wished for a better person for our diverse requirements. We only had one glitch. Upon our 50% down payment SKM arranged a date and said work should start then between 8:00 & 10:00am - unless we received a call to the contrary. We called the office before 9:00 on the day to confirm it was still on (it was), then again around 1:30pm when no one had appeared (we had to leave a message). Shortly after that Damian called to say, due to another urgent job, he couldn't start until the next day. But he then put long hours in and completed all the painting (two coats) & light fittings' work in one day. He came back immediately after the Holiday and did the extractor fan in half a day. We're very happy with everything. But we recommend calling a couple of times just prior to the start to re-confirm the schedule is still on.
