I was experiencing a problem with an occasional water backup in a floor drain. I called my usual plumber, who snaked the drain. |Unfortunately, the problem kept occurring. That same plumber eventually used a camera in the drain and told me that, to solve the problem, they needed replace a long section of pipe that was buried deep in concrete running down a hallway and into a bedroom of the house. That repair would have necessitated me tearing up carpet, having the concrete floor jack-hammered (lots of noise and tons of dust), having new pipe installed, and then having things put back together. The estimate was for a few thousand dollars. Before undertaking that project, I sought a second opinion and called Northwest Drain Station. Northwest Drain Station was responsive and came out quickly. They inserted a camera into the sewer line and noticed a lot of sediment buildup in the sewer lines that was likely causing the water backup in the floor drain. Northwest Drain Station showed me the video and also explained in detail what they thought was causing the water problem. Northwest Drain Station told me that they could solve the problem by hydro jetting the entire sewer line, which would clear out decades of sediment and junk that was partially clogging my pipes. The great thing about hydro jetting is that it did could be done without any damage to my house. Plus, it was substantially cheaper than the other estimate that I received to install new pipe in a concrete floor. As a result, I decided to have Northwest Drain Station do the hydro jetting. Northwest Drain Station performed the hydro jetting a few days ago. They were professional and responsible and did a great job. I was impressed with their communication and how they kept my house clean during the process. They carefully explained the process and showed everything on camera. It was impressive how clean the pipes were following the hydro jetting. Johnny is good person. He is honest and very responsive and is fast to answer questions. I highly recommend Northwest Drain Station to anyone!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I am so angry that I have been taken for not only $6,500 but also being conned psychologically since I was trusting their expertise. So, I hope I can save one person from falling prey to these companies: Northwest Drain Station and the company that Northwest Drain Station hired to subcontract the work. The subcontractor was hired by Northwest Drain Station however, this company was not communicated to me. The original quote was $3,200 since they could not locate the clean out from the house to the street. They came out and the back hoe dug out the area and discovered the clean out and storm drain. They told me that they tried snaking the clean out pipe but couldn't clear it. There were no roots only dirt in the pipe. (I even question this now especially since my friend who watched them told me they broke a pipe and he said to them; you will do the right thing?) So, they replaced the old cast iron clean out drain and storm drain with PVC. They came back to me saying that it would be another $2,900 for the cutter and camera. The results came back and they put the fear of God into us saying that there would be major problems if we didn't get it fixed, etc. He led us to believe the cost would be $10k-$15k to repair. It was at the end of the day then Northwest Drain Station came back to us after being gone for over an hour. Then, they told us that it would not be $10k-$15k but $22k. We couldn't believe it. I wish I would have thrown them out. They said that they quoted only for the day and it would be another $300-$400 to come back the next day to cap it off and finish it up or it would take another 3-4 days to repair pipe at the main sewer. Northwest Drain Station played the good guy, bad guy scenario taking advantage of our emotional state of mind. The company came back the next morning and I said no because $22,000 is too much money. Then, he said they were talking about it and said they would reduce the price by $5k. Then, after an hour and half of him talking about how wonderful he was and he had so much money that he didn't know what to do with it, etc. he finally said that I should be okay if I use light weight toilet paper, flush and use water flow frequently to clean out pipes. Again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! These companies are very dishonest. Also, after the fact I found on the internet additional negative reviews for these companies. It seems to be a pattern so buyer beware! I was so upset and lost sleep over this con so please do not hire these companies.

The plumber, Randy, came out on the 10th and had to return with a part on the 11th. We have a 20 year old Kohler toilet and my husband had replaced several parts and we were still having problems with the toilet on and off again. Randy came back the next day with another part which didn't work (they don't make the part anymore, they have a substitute), so he adjusted the parts my husband had put in and the toilet is working great! If we run into another problem with it, we will just have Randy replace the toilet. I would use Northwest again for service and ask for Randy.

See above--I consolidated the info in the and quot; What did the provider doand quot; area.
Description of Work: My main drain was clogged. I knew the approximate location of the clog, which I explained to the guy that arrived to try to clear it. He instead tried snaking another section of the sewer line. Finally, he pulled the basement toilet to snake the area where I originally thought the clog to be. I was correct regarding the location, but after pulling the toilet he mentioned, "this is going to cost extra". If he had pulled the toilet and started where I thought the issue was, it would have cost me less! The worst part was the mess he made. For lack of better words, it looked like the Big Fat B from the Austin Powers movies took a crap all over my bathroom. There was sewage/tree roots/unknown dark substances on every wall, ALL over the vanity, the toilet, the tile, the mirror, the cabinet, the door... pretty much everywhere. He mentioned, after the mess started, "it's kind of messy in here--sorry about that". I somewhat understood, but if he had covered his machine with a tarp it would have prevented it from slinging crap everywhere. When he was finished he asked, "so what should I do about this?" What do you mean?! Why is that even a question?? I had to give him my own towels to clean it up, which he didn't do very well anyway. Long story short, I won't be calling them again.

I'm sorry that you feel this way this was a very messy job working in a white bathroom. The reason I didn't pull the toilet first was in a attempt to save you money, unfortunately I had to do both spots not because I missed diagnosed the problem. As far as cleaning the mess I really thought that I did an outstanding job, I'm not sure why you didn't take a picture of the job after I was finished. In the picture you posted was while I was cleaning not when I was done, I wiped and cleaned everything and remember asking you how does everything look and you told fine. never less I really am sorry that you felt dissatisfied. I really care for my customers you are the reason we are in business. Please give me another chance to make you 100% happy. I will even give you discounted pricing in the future. No hard feelings I would love the opportunity to make you satisfied. I apologize for your experience, and look forward to making it right, thank you.

We've been using Northwest for quite a few years now. We schedule him to come out once a year and snake out our drains. He always get things running smoothly and never surprises us with a higher price than we expected. Our clean-outs are in a difficult location, but Johnny always manages to get the job done and is rarely here more than an hour.

They were prompt, and came out within the hour. They got the problem solved, I didn't feel as if it was too expensive. I felt that they were professional.
Description of Work: I found them on Angie's List, they were really good. They snaked the drain underneath the house, for the sewer line, and then outside for the city pipe. The line backed up a little bit.

It went as well as could be expected. I was quoted a flat rate which included the cost of the service call. I think it was around $130, but don't recall the exact amount. The serviceman arrived as scheduled, cleared the line, and cleaned up well. Overall, I was very satisfied, and would use them again.

Overall, it went well. I would definitely recommend them again. They were very easy to work with and professional, explaining everything along the way. However if having a full excavation done, make sure to have them clearly mark the access drain so people see it, no matter what company you choose to use.
Description of Work: We had our sewer back up into our basement, and the first plumber snaked it and said he was hitting what felt like a cracked pipe. I called Northwest Drain station because they had a camera and also because they try to fix the problem without having to do a full excavation. Johnny called me back right away and came out to check everything . I was impressed because he even called to tell me he was stuck in traffic and would be a little later than he thought. No one has ever done that before-usually they give an estimate of a few hours so I was impressed right away. He was very professional, explained everything, pulled the permit and got to work within a few days (waiting on permit). Unfortunately, after cleaning out the entire sewer line and putting a camera down, they realized it was a broken pipe and we had to have a full excavation. My husband and I had prepared for this so we knew the cost. Actually, we expected it to be more so we were happy. Another nice thing is that they have a Master plumber on site at all times so if anything goes wrong he is there. Our front porch had to be removed in the process and they hauled that away as well. On May 12, the concrete company began work on the foundation for the front porch, and accidentally hit the easy access pipe we had put in our front yard. I was upset and called Johnny. He and the Master plumber came out to check and make sure it was not cracked or shattered underneath with their camera. It was not thank goodness. He replaced the tube free of charge and made sure everything was still okay, which my husband and I really appreciated.

I had used this company several times in the past and kept going with them for preventative drain snaking and when we had a back up because they sold us a plan for about $500.00 that gave us "cheaper" preventative maintenance and priority service. The plumber that came out (was the same each time) always recommended we snake every drain. This was ok because I guess they don't know which one would be the problem. To get the drain snake downstairs was difficult, he scratched our side door, and loosened a board on our stairway. It made a very loud clunking noise all the way down the stairway because it was SO heavy. He snaked the drains and left a huge black mess on my walls, appliances and anything else that happened to be in the parameter of the snaking process. I have since had other companies out and have NEVER had such a mess left for me. The last time they were out, it was again around $300.00 and they had to come out again within a month because our drain backed up. I won't be using this company again.
Description of Work: Had drains in basement and outside snaked for preventative maintenance.

Were very sorry that this happened to you. but in are defense i think you might have mixed us up with another company. you stated that we sold you a plan for $500 we don't have a plan for that amount our plans are $59 or $259. Also you stated that we snaked every drain because we didn't now what one to snake. we always run a test on the drain system to determine which one has caused the back up and sometimes we recommend doing more as preventative maintanance. I was the tech there and remember telling the customer that the stairs were in bad repair our machines have wheels on them and weigh upwards of 300 pounds we are always careful but the stairs need to be in decent shape also to permit work to be done. i remember this sewer was extremly difficult to open that is why we used a heavy duty snake we were trying to help the customer and avoid having them dig up there front yard which i did. Yes I will admit there was black mess at my area of work this was one of the messiest jobs I have done in a long time that is because I had to snake the sewer approx. 50 times to get clear and was there several hours.. I always try to clean mess up but this was not the normal the customer told me she would take care of it. please note this was the messiest sewer snaking I ever had to do, but please keep in mind when you snake that much and have heavy muddy roots coming in from the sewer it isn't pretty. but i was really trying to help the customer from having to escavate her front yard. also you stated that you had to have us come out again in a month we have no record of this and i never went back since this time i am talking about. I am sorry that this happened to you I will take the blame for the mess but again this was a very difficult and messy sewer to clean i did the bulk of the root removal which would make another techs trip out much easier. I hope that you understand that i take full responsibility for my actions. but please note that some of the facts that you stated did not apply to our company for instance the $500 dollar plan the return call in a month it sounds like you had multiple companys there at your home once again we only want to make you satisfied. as a good faith action i will personally come to your house during normal business hours and snake your sewer two more times in the future at no charge and will do everything in my power to gain your trust again. Thank you very much let me know if we can do this for you!

This contractor was very efficient and knew what he was doing. They had some trouble getting to one of the leaks, but they managed to get both repaired nicely. I can easily recommend them to others and will continue to call them whenever I need a plumber.
Description of Work: We had two leaks, one in our basement and the other a crack in the piping on the side of the house. Both were fixed by this plumber by either replacing some pipe or replacing the fixture. They were here about 2 hours and cleaned up, taking all the waste with them when they left.
