The whole experience was very pleasant. Our salesperson Michelle was very helpful and knowledgeable. It was nice to have a one on one contact throughout the whole process. The price we paid was actually lower than what we would have paid through Home Depot or Lowes. The installation was flawless. And it was nice that they worked for Main.

I was beyond impressed with the service we got from Scott and his team at Carpet One. I would highly recommend him to anyone without a doubt. We walked into the store a few weeks ago and he showed us some new carpet fibers (Triexta) that were earth-friendly (they are made out of bio-waste from corn) and super durable and stain resistant. He also showed us other fibers, but we gravitated towards the Triexta. He was very knowledgeable, knew about which carpet companies had merged with who and acquired trade secrets/products from other companies and who was making what how/etc. He'd been in the business for 30 years and could tell you everything about every type of carpet. He gave us a rough estimate on the spot based on square footage we gave him, and then came out and did a formal estimate that was virtually the same. There were no gimmicky offers just a plain "this is what it costs" -- it would be great to do business with you, so just let me know. That's my kind of service provider! And the cost he gave ust was SUPER fair. It was cheaper than the Empire carpet cost (that was supposedly having a 50% off sale and that was the sale price....). And there was absolutely no comparison between Scott and the other carpet salesmen we talked to at Carpet Guys and Empire Carpet -- Carpet Guys and Empire Carpet salesmen had "One" price they told us when they sat us down after measuring the rooms, and then "another price" they told us when we said we had to think about it (the way that timeshare gimmicks work, where if you keep saying no, the price keeps magically dropping--I'm sorry but I have no respect for this type of business model). Scott never did this, he had the same price at all times and it was lower than both of the other companies. Also, the square footage that Empire and Carpet Guys measured was at least 200 square feet more than what Carpet One measured, we went thorugh and measured it ourselves and found that Carpet One's measurements were right and that both of the other companies seemed to be trying to overcharge us by giving 20% inflated square footage (700 ft compared to 900 ft is a big difference!). In addition, one of them hadn't heard of triexta and asked if I had found it "googling" with a sarcastic voice (Carpet is your job, learn about innovations in your field!). The point is, though it's usually good practice to "shop around" and get different quotes -- at this point I'd suggest that anyone save themselves the time and hassle and just go with Scott at Carpet One. The other carpet companies felt like having timeshare salesmen at your house and their 50% off sales quotes came in higher than Scott's, who was giving us much better carpet quality. Save yourself the headache I went through and call Scott! :) Oh--also installers were prompt, professional, courteous and did an amazing job. We love it.

This is a difficult review. Mostly because I do not know where to start as the process with this company was both frustrating, and acceptable. However the frustrating aspects are pushing me towards not recommending this company. We stopped in to look at carpet. Scott (owner) was there, he seemed fairly decent, albeit a bit pushy. I wrote the book on sales techniques, including how they use mind manipulation. He pushed us into what he wanted, which ironically, was also what we wanted so I didn't put up too much of a fight. The problems started when he promised to leave a sample with us overnight. Instead he took the sample from our home, despite my wife not being there to see it - she was pretty furious at this broken promise. I repeatedly asked him if he factored certain areas of our home for carpet. He assured me he did.. The next day I called to ensure 'everyone' there was on the same page about the places I wanted covered - they were. (or so they said) We were promised installation on Saturday to fit our schedules. So far up to this point things were 'acceptable' despite the carpet sample issue. The installers arrived that Saturday. We did have additional furniture to move. Unfortunately the moving people didn't come to take away the old stuff we were replacing. My intention was to purchase coffee and donuts for the installers, and tip them for the sofa and chair they would have to move.. Instead, they called and complained to Scott, who promptly informed us 'additional' charges would apply. Apparently it costs $10.00 a minute for these installers to move a sofa? Fine.. No tip, no coffee, no donuts.. Now the owner makes the money, not the installers. No problem. Bad attitudes were plentiful with these installers. Angry faces weren't the only thing to betray their anger, the body language, and talking were the best indicators. When you show up to service someones home you usually introduce yourself, then shake their hand. These guys have ZERO manners... I don't like angry people in my home, so this was pretty uncomfortable. Then the country music started blasting... One of them turned on loud country music, overshadowing the TV program we were watching in the other room, again, lack of class and respect. But I would tolerate that as long as the job was done properly, but would it? Unfortunately, as I expected - they didn't carpet some of the stairs, when I specifically asked Scott and his team - THREE TIMES if they factored the stairs! Now this whole thing started to annoy me... I have security cameras everywhere inside/outside of my home. During the installation I noticed one of them took a perfect rug-shaped piece of the carpet I PAID FOR and hid it in their truck, and I kept this in the back of my mind. After the job was done, I asked if there were any 'scraps', and they told me there was a piece in the closet. I specifically asked if that was the only scraps, and I was told yes, it was. I followed them out to the van, and said 'I will take the rug shaped scrap hidden in your van.".. The installer gave me a dirty look, paused, opened his van, and handed me the piece.. Without cameras, I'd of never known, and would have missed a wonderful piece of carpet to use as a rug in the basement. They wanted 'full payment' for the job, despite not carpeting the stairs saying they would deduct $100 until it's done.. I'm not dumb - what's the chance of seeing them come back to finish the job with only $100 in escrow? So instead I made up an excuse about not having the credit card to finish the payment. They seemed frustrated, but I said if it was only 3-4 days to finish it why does it matter if they get have to wait for the other half? Hehe. They left feeling angrier than the angry guys they already are, and I felt pretty good at that point about not letting anyone push me around. After they left I inspected the job. Clearly they were too lazy to 'move' cables to vacuum up pieces. In fact they were pretty sloppy, and I had to immediately vacuum the entire carpeted areas, and removed a full bag of fibers. (see pictures) Upon further inspection I found 'sloppy' work in many spots. These guys don't properly push and tuck carpet, in some spots there were 3/4inch gaps between the carpet and wall! Sloppy. (see pictures) I guess I didn't expect much more from these guys to be honest. So I called Scott to tell him. He came out that night, and walked in and said "Wheres the sloppy work?".. He didn't even look closer at it, and said 'I will have them re-tuck it later.". I said "I like the job overall but..." then he cut off and said 'of course you do!".. Wow can you be any more arrogant? My wife was appauled at his arrogance, and seemingly uncaring, or unlistening attitude. If you notice other reviews here you will find 'dismissal' of customer concerns to be how this place does business. Why the lower review? The carpet is gorgeous, and very high quality. Everything else was pretty lousy. I'd never use this place again.

We had agreed on the price Main floor covering had quoted us for both carpet and new pad to be installed . The day the guys came to tear out the old carpet and install the new one, they were honest enough to tell us that our padding underneath the old carpet was as good as new and there was no need to get new padding. The installers adviced us to call Main Flloor Covering and have them deduct the cost of the padding from our bill. They did an amazing job installing the carpet and we could not be more appreciative of their honesty.

They spoiled me for ordinary contractors. They were prompt, efficient, patient, pleasant to have around. They installed a plywood base before installing the linoleum, so the end result in a nearly hundred year old house looks and feels brand new. I apologize for being relatively non-specific, but readers want to know if they can trust these people. Believe me, they can. I just haven't time to elaborate. It probably is important for consumers to know that their installers have been with them for many, many years -- are not just kids who have hired out for a job they presume requires no training. Even the installers are professionals.
Description of Work: In this instance, they installed linoleum as part of a restoration project. They since have done extensive research on carpet options and worked with me to locate other workers who are outside of their own discipline.

Not the cheapest place but it should be noted that we did choose a premium pad and carpeting. The sales staff as well as the installers were excellent in my opinion. I will definitely use them again. In my opinion they were worth the price and the job was definitely done very well and they were very timely.
Description of Work: Removed & hauled away old carpet from two rooms (living room & family room), approximately 360 Sq. feet. Installed new pad and carpet in both rooms & two small hallway areas. Also added a shim to one doorway area.

It went very well. After getting a few competitive quotes, although their's wasn't the lowest, they did match one of the bids. I spent approximately $1600.00. There was a pre-existing problem of water damage under my old floor, and instead of just covering over it, it was pointed it out. I was advised to let the floor dry out and then they came back promptly to finish the job. I was very pleased with there work and will use them again in the future if I need to.
Description of Work: I used Main Floor Covering for my flooring. They tore out an old vinyl floor and replaced it with a new vinyl floor in my kitchen.
