Manu called right after I sent the request fro quote AL message - we met at the house - he quoted a ballpark price verbally but never followed up with a hard copy. He was a nice guy I did not get a chance to consider his firm without receiving a firm quote . update 11/4/15 Maru called due to my original AL rating (C) - I was impressed he followed up after the fact and was concerned about my dissatisfaction. I simply did not receive the quote he thought I had received.

We needed a portion of a backyard graded and new sod installed. We got a few quotes. We chose to work with Grow Earth based on their price, but also their responsiveness. We appreciated their willingness to work with our schedule and answer all of our questions. The work was completed over two days. The work site was clean and neat. The crew was friendly and professional. We were very happy with the completed project. The entire yard looked much better. It was a great experience. But here's the best part. The sod was for a rental property and we didn't check on it daily (which we should have). After a few hot dry days, we stopped by and the sod was yellow! The tenant wasn't watering for long enough periods, probably. Even though this was clearly our own fault, Manu from Grow Earth really went above and beyond. He came out and redid the sod at no cost to us! I was surprised and grateful. That's impressive customer service. We are starting on another, more elaborate project, with them this fall. They've earned a loyal customer. I highly recommend them for your landscaping needs.

Dan and the entire team at Grow Earth were great to work with. Very personable from the start and listened to what the wife and I wanted to have done with the back yard. They put together a very reasonable quote and were able to deliver in a timely manner. They would have completed ahead of schedule if it was not for a little bit of rain we had. I plan to have the front yard re-sodded in the spring next year and will be calling the team back to have them do it. I would recommend their services to anyone who has landscaping needs.

I first employed Grow-Earth 3 or 4 years ago, to level ground and install new sod in our front yard, after a huge tree had been removed and after I had destroyed the old, sparse grass and weeds around it. Manu Sood, business owner, worked during a heavily rainy and cold spring, juggling other jobs and timing the stages of his work perfectly. I still get continuous compliments on that lawn. In the present job, I can say that he truly organized and executed the work perfectly. His team of men were friendly and courteous and highly efficient, cleaning up very well. I initially intended to have him plant two trees, also. He invited myself and my wife to meet him at huge business only nursery, and spent much time driving us around, suggesting and describing numerous trees. I ultimately decided to purchase and plant the trees myself only because my final choices were not available through him as we entered October, and I found the ones I wanted at a huge fall sale at a reputable retail nursery. Manu actually called after to ask how they were doing! Manu loves his business, knows it through and through, treats his customer well, and has an artist's vision for landscaping. He is patient with customers, like myself, who are much less knowledgable, and puts forth extra time and trouble to help. He is a true gentleman. The price on both jobs was surprisingly reasonable, and he strives to cut costs wherever possible. Were it possible to give all A+ ratings, I sure would.

I received my first quote from Grow Earth in the Fall of 2014. Unfortunately, we were not able to proceed in the Fall due to some other issues with our home that we needed to address first. We called again in the Spring of 2015 to get another quote and to finally move forward. Everything sounded great. We would be doing paver-brick preparation (I would be laying these myself after the the pre-work was done by Grow Earth), tearing up old dead law, and laying new sod on the rest of the yard. We were told by Dan that the sod would be ready to go in mid-June and we said "Great, put us in the schedule.". In Late May, we ran into some other housing issues, and would have to scale back the work a bit, i.e. nix the paver bricks for the time-being. We tried calling Dan to inform him that we would only need to tear up the old lawn and lay new sod. I personally tried calling and texting twice/day for 2 weeks - this is not an exaggeration. I wanted to make sure that they were aware of the changes for obvious reasons - amount of sod needed, tool preparation for job site, and as a courtesy to their scheduling demands. Our job being smaller would obviously allow them to schedule more work, and I wanted to give them that courtesy. It is now late September and I still have never received one response from Grow Earth and they never showed up to perform work agreed upon. I called all numbers listed on website and called and texted numbers that I have prior communication with Dan on. I am absolutely baffled by how this company has received such great reviews and showed quite literally the worst capacity for responsiveness that I have ever experienced. With no explanation whatsoever they cut-off all communication and never showed-up for a job they agreed to perform.

I looked forward to getting a quote from Grow Earth based upon the number of glowing reviews they had and because they are located near my home. I called them on the morning of 8/12/15 and left a voicemail message that I wanted a quote to have my yard graded and sod installed. Later that day I received a call from John. I told him that I wanted to set up a time to have someone take a look at my yard and provide me with a quote. He told me that they did not need to make an appointment to actually look at the job. He said that they would look at an aerial view of property and promptly call me back with a quote. 17 days have passed without hearing anything from them.

Manu his team are awesome to work with. Yes they are busy but that comes with the landscaping business as it is weather and timing dependent. Once you get them onsite and map out a plan they do what they say they are going to do and then some. As a business owner myself I am hyper critical of other businesses. Their team is who you want to work with. Out job went off without a hitch but I can tell that they are the folks that will see a problem through if one arises.

We moved into a new house last year and needed grass. We initially thought that we could just plant seeds and save a bunch of money and have a nice lawn. But even after we adjusted for cost, like brining in topsoil, etc, we quickly realized that we'd never have a decent lawn. So we called around to various sod places. Some gave us quotes over the phone without them even coming out. Others set up appointments weeks out, and the ones that did come out were either super cheap or really expensive. But when we called Grow Earth, the owner, Manu, talked with me at length on the phone, educating me mostly, on what goes into decent sod. We learned all kinds of things as it quickly became apparent that Manu had to be an expert. He had his own sod farms, and something that no one else was offering. 100% pure Kentucky Blue Grass. As it turns out, no one else offered a pure bluegrass -- they were all blends of some sort. At the time, we didn't know why this was so important, but it was clear from the moment they installed it. The lawn was so green and thick, it looks great from day 1. Fast forward a year, and out lawn sticks out among everyone in the city. Our grass is the greenest, thickest lawn. I thought that it was just us that was impressed, but almost every single person who visits our house, before then even come in, says that our lawn is fantastic. It's low maintenance, I water not that often and the grass is just amazing. Another benefit from the lawn is that because Kentuck Blue Grass grows through rhizomes, it self heals, and chokes out weeds naturally. My neighbors, who have moved into new homes on the street with lawns that looked awful have asked for the number for the sod company we used and we've told them how happy we are. The job we had required his team to walk the sod into place rather than use a truck for forklift - they worked thier butts off and were the most professional and friendly people you could ask for. Apart from the high quality sod, Manu is always available to answer questions we have. There was an issue with the city this year where we had to put in a swale. Manu volunteered to come out with his team and install it, dealt with the city, and again his team was so nice and helpful, it was a real pleasure. I am glad that we picked Grow Earth, and even more pleased that Manu stands by his product even after installing it. Most companies would probably be tough to get ahold of, especially in the busy season but he always picks up his phone when we call. If I am going to spend my money, I want someone that believes in their product and cares about the end result. I look back and am so happy that we spent the money for sod and count myself lucky that we picked Grow Earth. Our lawn couldn't have possibly turned out any better and has exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds.

We are planning on having them come out in about a month. We chose them over other providers as they have been very responsive and had a very good price.

Manu and his team were excellent and a pleasure to work with. It's clear that Manu knows the ins and outs of sod installation. He was busy so it took a little bit to get him to come and give a quote but after that everything went very smoothly. He was actually able to get our lawn done faster than we had thought. His team had to level and grade our land , install 15 yards of topsoil and then laid the sod on top of that. He was able to coordinate well with our irrigation installer so that was another plus. The final price was even less than what he had quoted us and his team was professional and courteous. He even threw in two spare evergreen trees that he had available - in every way a great experience and our new lawn is looking fabulous. We would highly recommend Manu and his team!

Manu was very professional and excellent in keeping me abreast of every process that he was taking with installing sod in my yard. Manu was very precise and the pricing was amazing. I definitely will be using them again in the near future for lawn care and any other yard need that I may have.

They are very fast and efficient. They had the yard cleaned up in about 2-3 hours. They had a huge tarp that they swept everything onto. They also have a trailer behind their truck and they haul it all to that. It was very systematic. They were three of them working and you can tell they work together because everything was done very harmoniously.

There was an immediate response for my request for an estimate, and the job was completed when promised. The workers completed the job while at work, and it looked great. The workers cleaned up so well, you never would have known anybody was even there. Great service...highly recommended.

Manu and his crew came out and put in 3 drain tiles. They were all very nice, courteous and worked very hard. We have a new issue with the yard behind us that planted many Arbs and have caused water in our yard because they were planted to high. Manu went up and above and was able to help the area temporarily by pushing some dirt, spreading mulch and sloping it properly. We will have to have him back out when we can have more dirt brought in. It was so nice that he did that for us because it would have taken forever with shovels! After the crew finished they cleaned up and other than the newly installed drains you would have never known anything was done. Manu is very knowledgeable in his craft and has many ideas but will not do something if he doesn't think you need to or just to make money. I am glad for Angies List that we found him.

Although there was some confusion within the company about when I wanted the sod installed, they were very accommodating and the work was well done. I worked mostly with Jeremy and he was always great.

I've been using Grow-Earth for many years with my past two homes in Royal Oak area and will for many years to come. Rare as it is, this is truly one of those old-school, mom/pop, customer-oriented business where special requests and extra attention to detail in their lawn care have been fulfilled without question. You have a direct line to the owner and he will handle any concerns personally and expeditiously. I have used others in the past and I have not found a better service OR a better price in the area.

When I first contacted the company I was rather desperate to get the lawn cut at my daughter's house. Manu was quick to respond and very easy to deal with. The crew did a great job. Very professional, dependable and reasonable. I recommend the business.

I found Gro Earth to be responsive at first. However, the relationship soured over time due to over promising and under delivering. Also, they had a difficult time with their receivables, and did not know we had paid our bill on more than one occasion. Fall clean up was a disaster. They told me it would be done prior to Thanksgiving, which it was not. They job they did was sub par, and forgot several beds. Sticks and brush were left in the back yard and leaves were blown between the screen and patio doors. There was no follow up or quality checks.

It was little slow for them to respond, but they do respond to me. They said they just don't do like tree removal or stump removal for my particular project,

Excellent work and pricing. Went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. Very nice and showed his expertise in landscaping.

They were very punctual. They edged all of my beds and installed mulch. Their work was exceptional. A whole crew came out and did an excellent job. They are very professional and left my place spotless. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER.
