Description of Work: Put in a new sump pump

Description of Work: Called about a clogged drain that we had attempted to repair ourselves. They came the next morning for a "quick" Saturday job. We found out that the pipe had been poked through (our efforts and old pipe). They offered to repair the pipe but accommodated our decision to have it replaced instead. They cut out the wall , you would never know, replaced the pipe, reconnected every thing, and had our kitchen back in order it the same morning. I did have to mop up after them a bit, but all in all would call them again in a heart beat.

Description of Work: On March 15, 2012 I was doing laundry and homework when the washing machine chimed that it was finished. When I went to change it over to the dryer I saw that the floor drain backed up and there was water all over the basement floor. I cleaned up the water and called DJ Murray Plumbing as I have used them in the past with cleaning out tree roots in the drain out to the city sewer. When I talked to the dispatcher she assured me that someone would be able to come out within 2 hours and that they would call me when they were on the way. Before I hung up with he I asked what the price would be, you know just so that I knew the service men they sent out didn't rip me off, she quoted me a price or $125.00 with the yellow pages coupon. They called within the time period promised and were at the house within 30 mintes from the time of their call. There were two men who arrived in the same van and they came in and looked at where the cleanout was in the laundry room in the basement. I had moved the washer out for them and they set up and started to clean out the drain pipe. About half way through cleaning out the drain the guy running the machine called out to me asking what they quoted me the price would by, when I told him he replied very rudely that the price would be $165.00 when I questioned him why his rude explanation was that it was a two person job. As he went back to working on the drain he commented to his helper, loud enough for me to hear, that it just didn't make sense to him that people spent so much fixing up their house but had a problem with paying a little extra to clean out a drain. I let it go but I really shouldn't have....this was not the first time that I had someone from this company out to clean out this drain, we have lived here for 22 years....every time in the past there was only one person performing the work and the price was never more than was quoted on the phone prior to them coming out. I don't have a problem paying more money if it really was a two person job but the kicker was that they advised that I run some "foaming RidX" through the drain. When they brought in the invoice for the service he had the audacity to give me a quote of $169.00 for the 4 lbs of RidX that would be needed for cleaning out the roots in the pipe. I went online and ordered 4lbs of Foaming RidX for $59.00 with delivery included....go figure they would want $110.00 to pour the RidX down the cleanout pipe....I won't use them again I suggest that anyone considering them to call someone else...
