American Masonry

Lou Kopenick is a conman! His work is subpar at best and will NOT return to complete a job. If he answers his phone at all he sets up appointments continuously and doesn’t show up.

Words cannot express how frustrated and, to be quite honest, ****** I am at American Masonry and Lou. I could go on and on about THAT, but you don't care about that... you want to know the basic overview. Services requested: re-point/repair the chimney mortar using age-appropriate mortar (on 1925 house, uses different type of mortar than modern builds), replace top 4-5 levels of bricks, replace crown/cap, replace cap hardware, grind off nails/screws/etc in chimney base, seal chimney with protectant. They ended up using a "semi-appropriate" mortar, used either used or defective bricks on the top replacement (they're streaked/colored white now, making our chimney look like patchwork), didn't replace the rear cap cover/hardware, didn't grind off anything from the side of the chimney and I had to REMIND them to do the sealant. In addition, communicating or getting ANY communication from Lou and AM is nigh impossible. Always goes to voicemail, he's not text savvy (when he says he is), doesn't give ANY updates on the work that he's supposed to do or if they need to reschedule and if you have any complaints, he will stop answering the phone... period. Do not recommend, stay away, spread the word... American Masonry is a malicious company that should be reported by everyone at every opportunity.

It was a problem from the very beginning to the end! Still not satisfied! They are very costly also!

They came over Sunday night unexpected to see how tall the house was. Said they would be at my house 9:00the next day. Called me at 9:30 saying they couldn't come that day, they could come Tuesday at 9ish. I was not happy since I had made plans to be home on Monday. They did not get to my house until noon and did not finish until 9 and it was getting dark! They couldn't put all their supplies in the truck so they left them at my house and I said it had to be removed early morning or before noon. They did not come by until 2:00! The two young men who did the job were very nice and polite! I would not recommend this company!
