+ -1 moreHorrible - He denies ever telling me the parts were not under warranty - he denies telling me that he couldn't fix it and it not be a because of junk... he took advantage of a situation and tried to play on my illness by telling me in my condition I couldn't mess with carbon monoxide levels etc... and that if he fixed a piece of junk like this his name would be on it and he couldn't it good judgment try and fix something that couldn't be fixed. The second opinion told me that anybody in this business KNEW this furnace was under a recall - and could and should be fixed.
Description of Work: Service guy came to the house to check my furnace out - told me my furnace was not under warranty and that the exchange was probably cracked or too soot filled to fix. He told me it would take thousands of dollars to repair with the cost of labor hours not including parts - and that the carbon monoxide level was just way too high to be messed with. He told me it would be better if we bought a new furnace (furnace is 10 years old). Called the next day to get a second opinion to find out that our furnace was under a recall and could be fixed for free. Called North Macomb Heating and Cooling back to ask him why he didn't tell me this furnace was under recall and he finally admitted that the manufacturer would give hm four hours of labor. I asked for my $125 back and he has not responded. Second company will be here on Monday to replace the parts that have been recalled for free. North Macomb Heating and Cooling would not even give me the name of the owners - I asked he and he he mumbled something and spelled somthing even worse and told me they were in Florida. I want to know what the next step is in getting my money back. He knew exactly what he was doing because when he told me I needed a new furnace I broke down in tears - am having chemo and bills are something that just keep rolling in ...

+ -1 moreWe had used North Macomb prior, and had great service, which is why we contacted them yesterday for our furnace issues. Not sure what changed in this business, but the person that came out seemed clueless, and felt several $500 parts had to be replaced in order to diagnose the issue. Of course, he could install a new furnace for $2800, and cut my gas bill in half... For doing nothing, he charged me $190, and I had a furnace that stopped working 5 mins after he left. We called him and he instructed us to test some thing over the phone (shouldn't he have done this while he was here???) and said we needed a $500 gas valve. Gave me the run around about when, etc., so I called someone else. They came out on an emergency call, CLEANED my furnace, ran through several start ups to make sure all was running well, and everything was good. They replaced NOTHING, just cleaned it and recommended a a new filter. All is still running fine, now over 24 hrs later! North Macomb is not what it used to be, and I would definitely recommend going elsewhere for any furnace needs. They are not knowledgeable, and just want to replace parts to cost you money!!! I saved myself by stopping payment on the check first thing this morning.
