 + 0 moreHad them out last winter to inspect and give us a quote. Charged us $150 and said their low season was spring/early summer. I called them multiple times and emailed them without a response. We are going elsewhere because they charged us and ran.

Description of Work: They were thorough. I have a Vermont Castings wood stove and they took it apart cleaning even the catalytic converter. If I had had the work done in the off season it would have cost less. They do not try to sell you more service or maintenance than you need.

 + -1 moreHired Copperfield Chimney to inspect my chimney upon moving to a new home. A worker came out to my home while I was gone, and told my wife the crown needed to be sealed with a coat of "flash seal." He persuaded her to have the work done without my approval or a second opinion. To my surprise, I came home to a bill for $1,020. The seal, that came with a 15 year warranty, was improperly applied and has peeled since Day 1. Over the years, I've had to have it reapplied every couple years, but this company did not offer to fix the actual problem by stripping the coating and re-doing the job. Now, the entire crown is disintegrating from water underneath the seal, and I'm having to pay to have a brand new crown built from scratch. If interested, I have photos of the peeling and damage. I'm dissatisfied by the quality of their work, but even more upset they talked my wife into $1,000 worth of work that was unnecessary to begin with while I was gone. I would not recommend this company.
