The Grout Doctor

He has made three trips and he still can’t get it right. The caulk he put in was so bad that it was removed on trip #2. He also had to touch up the bad paint job only to paint the WRONG color in spots. Trip #3 he covered up the wrong color with a color that is again too dark!! I now have a bathroom with 2 different color grout in the shower and the floor. He does NOT care what kind of work he does. He’s only going to smooth talk you into getting your money and doing a bad job. Stay away from this crook.

I am so pleased with the results. It looks great and has held up wonderfully so far. Both David and his guy that came out were friendly and explained everything in detail, there were no surprises. They did a great job and cleaned up nicely after themselves. No complaints at all.

Excellent! Brandon and Tim arrived a few minutes early. They were very professional and answered all the questions we had. It was obvious they took pride in their work. They worked hard and didn't leave a mess. They were very helpful in giving me instructions on how to preserve the grout color in the foyer area mentioned above. They did a few things outside of the original quote and didn't charge me for it. Very good work and I'd recommend them and this Grout Doctor highly.

It took FOUR phone calls and a website form being filled out to get Grout Dr. to respond. Finally got to make an appointment. Was told 10:30. Guy arrived before 10:00. He had been told the appointment time was between 10:00 and noon. WOW this company is truly lousy at communication. I gave a clear explanation of the work needed when I set the appointment. Two loose tiles and floor grout replacement in a small stall-type shower. Was quoted minimum cost of $250. Seems high for small area but I understand needing to charge a minimum amount. Guy looks over the job and tries to sell me on doing other parts of the shower, minimum $500. Told him I can't afford that. He said Grout Dr. doesn't do just repair, they have to look at the whole area. Then he talked about me needing a dehumidifier so the area could be dried after pulling up ALL the tiles, and maybe he could do just the floor for $300. There was lots more to the conversation, but I'm paraphrasing for brevity. Eventually he said I need to call a handyman because "This isn't a Grout Dr. job. Plus you could get other stuff around here done." So I got insulted about the disrepair of my home by a guy I was trying to hire to start working on the disrepair of my home. WOW. EXTREMELY disappointed this did not work out. I've been looking for someone to re-do the grout for 3 years and now the tiles are actually coming loose. I thought sure Grout Dr. would be the answer but be warned. They do not do repairs only. They want to re-do the entire area.

After a free analysis by Brandon on October 21, 2015, I had my master bathroom stall shower gutted and then new tile installed. That work was performed by a different contractor. Because the grout was cracking in the corners and along the base, I wanted a professional to look at it and tell me what to do, so I called The Grout Doctor. David Wegener ran a line of caulk in the two corners and along the bottom where the tile meets the shower base. It looks great and now I don't have to worry about the walls behind the shower taking on water. He didn't charge me for this service, and I continue to be impressed with this company.

Brandon showed up on time, he was friendly and professional and went right to work analyzing the condition of my master bathroom shower. He determined that it needs to be replaced. I admire and respect his honesty, as I could have spent money on a potential repair that would have evolved into having a new one installed anyway. Kudos to this company for sparing the customer unnecessary repair costs when replacement is the key. I have other bathrooms in this condo and will definitely call The Grout Doctor as issues arise.

The guys sent out did a great job. Only problem was when vacuuming up with the attachment that holds everything together came apart. Dirt and dust everywhere. Lucky I have 2 air cleaners which I put on immediately because my husband as COPD very bad. I wiped down walls and that took care of all that mess. They came back to do a little fix up. Job was perfect afterwards.

The team arrived on time and proceeded to work in a quiet and efficient manner. They cleaned up after themselves and were polite and professional. The job was completed to my satisfaction and everything went smoothly.

He explained that regular grout would continue to breakdown since our counters were Corian and the backsplash was tile. We were given a choice of a matte finished product which was partly silicone and a 100% silicone product that had a little shine to it (which is what we chose). The job wasn't big enough to meet the minimum charge so he also cleaned and sealed the grout in our powder room.

There was a problem with grout and caulk, but they cheerfully returned in a timely fashion to correct the matter.

.Had a bit of trouble connecting with the business. Thought they were a bit expensive, but needed the job done. Would only use them again if I still couldn't find someone cheaper.

Provider was barely there for an hour. While he was supposed to reset two tiles and fix any grout...provider only added additional grout to cracking grout areas and around loose tiles. We questioned this method because we had already applied additional grout ourselves to try and resolve problem. We were assured this method was best and that we had a full warranty if something went wrong. So we went along with it. The provider left without payment which we thought was odd. The owner, David Wegner, contacted us about payment. We again expressed our concerns about the method. We also informed him that the work we contracted for wasn't all done. He said he would speak to the provider. Then he called us and told us a story about the provider saying he did all the work and he expected full pay. He went on to say that the provider had worked for him 20+ years (which was extremely odd because the provider couldn't of been more than 30 years old). In order to resolve the balance I paid him $150 for re-grouting and $23.75 (15mins @ $95/hr). But not even a month went by and the grout is cracking and tiles are loose. We called David (owner) and he said because we didn't pay him in full he will not honor his warranty. David also became very short, rude and aggressive with us during our conversations. I'd like to think that we are reasonable people and we tried to talk this out with David but all he seemed to care about was the money and not the quality of work his people do. Very disappointed.

I had a bit of a hard time contacting the Grout Doctor or having anyone call me back. However, once David called back, he was out at my house within a couple of days to give me a quote and set-up an appointment for the work. He was scheduling about a month out for a Friday afternoon, which I thought was pretty good for the busy season. David is very nice gentleman and was very honest about work that really could wait and did not need to be done immediately, which I really appreciated. When my appointment came, no one showed up at the time we agreed upon. I called David and he apologized for the mistake and he and one of his guys were at my house within 30 minutes. Both of them removed 3 tiles and replaced them very nicely. It looked great! David then left his guy at our house to color coat//seal the tile in the kitchen. I believe his name was Matthew; he was very professional and had some concerns about the color we had chosen for the tile. Instead of just using the color he had, he suggested that he come back the next day when we had more time and he had other options to use to choose a color. He came back on Monday and color coated 6 different tiles so I could choose which one I liked best. He went above and beyond because this was very time consuming, but was extremely helpful. He then proceeded to color coat the grout and did a very nice job. Our floor looks great and the color coating already has made a huge different in appearance and cleanliness. If I had more work for the Grout Doctor, I would request Matthew. I am sure the other guys are good too, but Matthew really impressed me and I would use him again and again!

The Grout Doctor was able to remove all the old grout and caulk and replace. The tub looked great when he was done. The tech. showed up on time and did the work in the time frame estimated. He left the bathroom clean, no huge mess to clean up. It was well worth the cost and they were easy to work with and friendly. It has been a year since I had the work done and my tub still looks great.

Brandon did the work. He came on time and got it done relatively quickly. When he was finished, I couldn't believe how new my tile looked! He did a beautiful job! And he left the bathroom clean and tidy.

Brandon was the employee who performed most of the services ( he was later joined by Mark in the afternoon to assist with the job completion in one day). Both were very professional, did an excellent job, and were very considerate to take their shoes off at the entry door to keep the light colored carpets clean. I have had caulking done before by other contractors and it was not a nice clean straight bead, Grout Doctor did a beautiful clean professional looking job. The regrout job was beautifully done as well. The Grout Doctor uses a latex mixture in the grout for a sealant so the curing time includes the sealant. I had inquired not knowing if I would have to wait two weeks before applying a sealant to the grout. This is very helpful to have access to bath areas with moisture present within a couple of days. The hall bath floor was in need of more service than the master bath with more family and guest use. It came out cleaner than I had expected except for one small area that I hadnt noticed when Brandon was showing me the completed job ( i was looking at the caulking and down the center of the floor and the after noon light also casts a different reflection with the lighting in the room). David, the owner, had told me he may not be able to make all the grout white again. The same area in the master was restored and I had hoped the hall bath could be too. Overall I am very happy with the work that was performed and would highly recommend the Grout Doctor for tile cleaning, caulk, grout, and repair work.

It went great! He showed up promptly and even suggested a fix for a built in shower shelf we hadn't considered. We would definitely hire him again.

Owner of the company was very responsive and professional. The job was scheduled and was performed as promised. Very satisfied with the work and would recommend this contractor to anyone looking to have tile grout cleaned or replaced.

Andrew showed at the house right on time. He began work promptly. He scrubbed and cleaned all tile, corners and tub. He then sealed the tile with a Grout Dr brand solution and looked great. All corners of the wall and tub were re-caulked. The Bathroom looked great and the tiled shined. Andrew cleaned his tools and left without leaving any dirt behind. My wife and I were very pleased! We would highly recommend this service!

went fine; he indicated potential for bigger issues on shower floor, did work anyway (w/o guaranteeing work); when issues arose, came and fixed the shower floor anyway. Good guy.

Cleaned the tiled shower grout, shower door and grout in the tiled bathroom floor. Removed shower corner and shower base grouting from the shower and a corner tile outside the shower door. Replaced grout with silicone caulk which was recommended because of structural movement in these areas. Also caulked around shower base, shower door, adjacent walls and toilet. Brandon cleaned up well after the work was completed. Very nice, professional caulking job. Very pleased with the results.
