+ -1 moreI ended up doing the drywall job myself. I received two quotes that we so high that I felt the companies had me sponsoring a small village in a third world country.
Description of Work: Got a phone call from him while he was heading out for a personal trip. Said he would call me the following Monday. Did not call on Monday. Got a call on Tuesday and did not take the call because it was NOT Monday. If you cannot return a simple phone call what else would you drop the ball on? Thanks but no thanks.

+ -1 moreThey charged us slightly more than the special we got off of Angie's List because we asked them to do additional work. Their prices were reasonable. The final result looks pretty good. The people were friendly. It took longer than I expected but I didn't have any idea how long it would take, but they seemed to work as quickly as possible. I had no idea what to expect. We were looking for a drywall company and they seemed to have a good reputation on Angie's List.
Description of Work: I last used Neto's Drywall & Plaster a couple of months ago. We drywalled a ceiling.

+ -1 moreSteve came to the house, looked at the required work, told me what it would cost and when it would be done. I agreed to the terms, gave him a small deposit and agreed to pay the balance upon completion of the work. Steve left the work platform and two bags of Durabond 20 and told me that his man would start the job the next morning and that it would be completed the same day. Just like clock work, his man started on time and completed the work the same day. He provided me with instructions on painting the new work, cleaned up the work area, removed his tools, collected the balance of the stated price, and gave me a fond farewell.
Description of Work: I had installed a skylight (roof Window) with a drywall light tunnel, removed the soffit from around the kitchen and added new drywall on the ceiling and sidewalls. The various joints were not even and the ceiling had a different plane. The work was completed by plastering the seams with Durabond 20 and finished in such a way that the difference in ceiling heights were not detectable. The slight variations in the light tunnel were finished in such a way that the imperfections of the drywall installation were invisible. The plastering technique was done in such a way that there was no sanding done and the finish was rock hard and smooth to the point that the finished work looked totally invisible. The work was done on schedule and the price was exactly what the original bid was. As much work as I have contracted, I have never had an experience that far surpassed my expectations as this one did. I could not have been more pleased. I look forward to having Steve Neto and his associate complete additional work for me.

+ -1 moreIt took a while to get them to come out. New tape started pealing off after a week and I had to pay someone else to copme out a fix it. They didn't bother to clean up after themselves. I purchased this because it was advertised as a $99 special. So much for that.

When I was ready for the work to begin Steve and his crew arrived as scheduled and installed and finished the drywall in one day with no sanding. They did an excellent job. It doesn't get any better than this.

+ -1 moreWhat started out to be a simple repair of mudded skylights turned into a $600 job. when they came out to estimate the job it went to an addition $231.00 over coupon and then when they finished, they told me the total had jumped to over $600 due to additional time and effort to replace corner braces etc. By that time, the work was done and I had no choice but to put on my visa card. I WAS NOT anticipating this kind of expense. Although the men were pleasant and did a great job, they cost was way over the original amount quoted. I don't know if I would use angies list promos again after this.

+ 0 moreThe end result is great. They covered everything, tore down the damaged wall/ceiling and then repaired the wall and plaster cove. We were instructed to wait a week then prime, caulk and paint. The system they use is quick and they are always quick to share tips for diy patches and painting.
Description of Work: Neto's repaired water damage on a wall & ceiling. The repair included a unique plaster cove, plaster and drywall sections. The repair did not include a final prime and paint application.

+ -1 moreSince there was no urgency in either of these repairs, a time schedule was established by phone several weeks in advance. Steve then arrived at the scheduled time and completed both jobs within less that three hours. We are very happy with the results.
Description of Work: Steve repaired several holes in our garage drywall that had been created in running electrical wiring to outside motion light (motion light installation was done be another contractor). The work was done very quickly and the end result is very good. In addition, Steve removed a section of interior paint that had not been primed properly (by another contractor) and re-mudded the interior wall so that it can be repainted correctly (we will do the repainting).

Put down tarps on steps and floor just to make sure did not track any dirt in when going in out of the house. Would highly recommend these guys. Steve was very prompt in returning calls and was very clear on estimated cost and time involved. Material dried within 24 hours so we could paint.
Description of Work: Roland did a great job blending in new work with old plaster with tricky ceiling curves. Installed a little bit of drywall, several pieces of corner bead, and then did all the taping and finish mudding.

+ -1 moreSteve responded to my call within the afternoon. His estimate was about 200 more than another but he described on detail what he would do to correct the lumpy ceiling. His man Bill arrived the next day and started excellent workman ship for 2 full days complete clean up great job.
Description of Work: Replaced/patched 2x4s section of ceiling drywall due to water damage. Skim coated entire ceiling (12x18) with 3 coats of mud/plaster after completely screening drywall and covering all seams. Smooth finish with zero sanding or dust!

+ 0 moreThese guys are really good! They skim coated the ceiling with plaster, and it is really smooth, so smooth that they did not need to sand it after the work. It took Steve Neto and Roland two and a half days to complete the work. They were very professional. Plastic was applied over our cabinets, fireplace, and flooring to protect them. They cleaned up after the work, and since they did not have to sand the plaster, there was not dust all over over the house, as one would expect after such a job. I would not hesitate to hire Neto's again. They did the work exactly as promised - on time, with the price as quoted. I received two other quotes for this job, and one of the quotes was almost one third lower. But I am very happy that I went with Neto's. The job came out exactly as I wanted it, and it looks great. After they completed their work, I primered and painted the ceiling myself. They gave me several good tips that helped me when I did the painting.
Description of Work: The previous owner of our home removed the wall between the kitchen and living room. To cover up the poor drywall patching where the wall used to be, and other poor tape joints, a "popcorn" finish was added to the ceiling (it really looked more like large curd cottage cheese). We hired Neto's Drywall and Plaster to remove the popcorn finish, patch holes where we removed a ceiling light and a wall switch, then skim coat the whole ceiling. The ceiling area is over 600 square feet.

His quote was a little higher than the other quote we received, but talking with Steve gives you the impression of a competent, experienced, and friendly professional. As a DIY project, we understood that our inexperience created more work and headache for Steve. He tackled the job as a true professional and even made a few suggestions for future projects (should we decide to attempt). He was very patient and his work is outstanding! We definitely feel that we got our money's worth and would hire him again without hesitation!! Thanks again for all of your hardwork, Steve!!

The guys who had come out had thirty four years of experience doing this stuff. Some are retired but they did a pretty good job for me. They were competitive in terms of price. I will probably use their services again in the future if I need to.

+ -1 moreIt's always difficult to get a contractor to take on a small job like this, however Neto's found a way to fit this one in. They did a great job, with the exception of leaving a bag of garbage in the bathroom. On the uptick though, at least he cleaned up after himself. It would've been a nice touch to leave me a mark on the drywall where the shower pipe hole should go. Otherwise, they did a fine job.
Description of Work: I installed a new tub & enclosure and hired Neto's to do the drywall work, which I would finish/paint afterwards

+ -1 moreNeto's Drywall was hired to do all of the finishing on the drywall that we hung in our bathroom. Steve was very professional and performed the work on the day & time as promised. They put down cloth drapes all the way from the door to the bathroom and were very careful with our home. The job was challenging for a few reasons. First, we hung the drywall ourselves (we are typical DIY homeowners w/ limited drywall hanging experience). Steve was very kind with his comments and offered some very useful tips for the future. Second, the lighting in our bathroom was limited due to the remodel in progress. Third, they had to work around our two small children and a mountain of toys. The best part about the job was the fact that they don't do any sanding. He was completely finished with the job in one day and there was zero mess. We will definitely use Neto's Drywall again and would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: We hung the drywall ourselves and then had Neto's Drywall do all of the finishing. They did all of the mudding, taping, corner beads, etc.
