Disappointed. Misdiagnosed that unit was leaking coolant. Appearance and handling made me think a teenager was doing the work. Had a second opinion done who explained how they misdiagnosed the coolant leak and that they didn't handle the it properly. Waste of my money and wish I could get a refund.

It went ok. Had to reschedule a couple times since they were busy. He cleaned off the A/C unit and quoted us for a new system.

Went great, responded quickly and got part covered under warranty

He tried to sell me a new furnace, a new chimney liner and then said I should probably get a new hot water heater also. My hot water heater is 2 years old. I was so sad, I live on a fixed income. Just wanted you to know. Thank you Angie. Sincerely, Nancy Johnson

In good conscience, I can not recommend this provider. I'd urge customers to obtain a diagnosis from a competitor. Make sure all contractual matters are given in writing with dates by which all work must be done and that evidence of Michigan HVAC licensing is intact. We were convinced to replace our 15 year old Rheem HVAC based on inaccurate statements made by their repair technician/salesman (cost to repair/danger in existing installation). Given an accurate cost to repair, we WOULD NOT have replaced our only 15 year old HVAC plant! At one point, the validity of their license to perform HVAC service in Michigan was in question (a "partner" eventually pulled the permit AFTER THE HVAC EQUIPMENT WAS TORN OUT). This contractor did try to make things right. Too much was verbal; Not enough was written down (i.e. - Yes you get a new programmable thermostat... No, it's not on the write up and I don't have one in the truck). After 13 days or wrangling, out new HVAC has more or less passed Troy city inspection. First, we purchased a $200 of HVAC labor certificate on 4/23/2015 at Eller's for $99 on Angie's List. I was assured by Eller's phone receptionist that this certificate would apply to servicing and/or replacing our HVAC. Repair/sales man first declined to give full credit for the Angie's List certificate. I had to insist that he call the main office to receive full credit for Angie's List purchase. Repair/sales then told us two apparent falsehoods (4/23/2015): - Cost to replace furnace control board would be $900. Later (4/25/2015) their own supervisor advised that a control board would cost max of $400, installed. For $300-$400, we would have simply had the furnace repaired. - Pairing of 2 ton compressor and 1.5 ton coil might cause a fire. Also told by supervisor that this was not true. On Thursday 4/23/2015, we paid a $2000 deposit for new HVAC system to be installed on Saturday 4/25. Installers arrived Saturday with the wrong equipment. At one point, we were told that there might not be a furnace to fit in the space available (1500 sq. ft. full basement). On Monday 4/27, we were told by Eller's that they had "missed" an 80% efficient unit with variable speed fan in the Trane catalog that fit into our basement. It would be ordered and installed on Wednesday, 4/29. Later in the day, we were told that a 95% efficient furnace would be made available to us at no additional cost and that $400 would be deducted from our final bill to compensate us for the poor performance; a very nice gesture on the part of Eller Services! Meanwhile on 4/27/2015, the City of Troy advised me that Eller Services was not licensed to do work in the State of Michigan and that by removing my furnace and part of the A/C, they had done work without a permit. To make the proverbial along story short, Eller's was able to work with a "partner" who was licensed and that the work permit would be taken out and performed by the licensed partner. The furnace/AC was to have been installed on Wednesday 4/29. On 4/28, the City of Troy did inspect our basement (with the empty space where the furnace was) and promised a thorough inspection after installation. On 4/29, personnel from Eller Services and partners did appear with equipment. However, they reported that the dimensions related to duct work were not adequate so that installation could not be completed until 4/30/2015. The duct work eventually installed looks beautiful and seems to be functional. As of 4/30/2015, we are awaiting an inspection from the City of Troy, installation of a new thermostat and paying the final balance due Eller Services. On 5/5/2015, the City of Troy passed with minor quibbles, our inspection. We paid the balance. My bottom line is that we got a good deal on a furnace/AC that we did not need to replace.

It wasn't anything more than what I had purchased. There was no additional fee. It went well. The technician seemed to be very knowledgeable on what was required. He was able to identify issues with the original installation of the furnace, things I should be mindful of as far as the way that the unit was originally installed, and what may happen based upon that. He explained what he was doing. I asked questions and he gave detailed explanations. I thought that it would include much more than what he did, but I'm satisfied with the work and the price that I paid to have it done. The price was good. He didn't do much.

It worked out just fine, they were very nice, gave us a complete go over and told us what we may need to have done in the future. They were here within a week and we didn't pay anything extra. We had problem with the furnace which is over 20 years old. We knew we would have to have it replaced. Their offer for an inspection for $49 and their ratings was what impressed us.

Discovered why the humidifier was leaking steam and identified the least expensive solution, rather than trying to sell me a new humidifier.

Inspection revealed outdated and inefficient heating system. As a result of the inspection, purchased new furnace and replaced all non-insulated duct work in crawl space from Eller Services.

It turned out well I would use them again in the future.

They were called away. Outside job couldn't be done because ground was frozen by the time they returned. I'm waiting.

It went well. There were no issues.

Purchased a Big Deal for furnace inspection. Went as planned, technician was on time and courteous. Advised on condition of furnace, was honest and did not try and up sell unnecessary additions.

The person who came was really nice and helpful. Either I misunderstood the deal and also the person who came said that even other customers have misunderstood the deal. I was expecting something different. The amount of the big deal that I thought was for a certain amount of service, but it was actually the fee to come out and did not include any other service. The cost of the deal and the cost of doing the pipe resulted in some hundred's of dollars. All of it was a 20 minute service. It was a waste of my time. I had to wait for many days for them to come out. The whole experience was stressful because of the expectations I had on the deal. The work was too minor and I could have done it myself if I had the equipments.

The techs were good, though I wasn't sure why two showed up for this service. They were able to determine that the boiler system had not been winterized and was thoroughly trashed as a result of water freezing in the pipes. This is a bank owned property so I had no info at the start to work with. They were able to confirm that the regular water system was ok though. They were efficient and knew what they were doing but they never really were clear about how much what they were doing was going to cost. The woman I talked with on the phone told me it would be $98 for the service call and that the techs would give me a more detailed price on site based on the work. I was a bit dismayed when the total for less that two hours work without using any materials was $380. But I had to get the testing done ASAP and they were the only company I talked to that could get out during that week. Overall I was left with a bad impression and would not recommend them for any work without a free estimate and fixed price in advance of any services.

The agent couldn't have been more helpful. Not only did he call ahead of his arrival (as promised), he was punctual. He brought the expected equipment (filter and CO2 detector) and advised me that the filter didn't have to be replaced. He answered a series of questions that I had about the furnace, the thermostat (he showed me I needed to replace the batteries ? I didn't know it had batteries!), the humidifier, and insulation in a "mud room." The answers made sense and he was very clear and easily understood. I would say that he went far above-and-beyond what was included in my $75 "great deal." I plan to use his company again for an AC check in the Spring.

It went great the furnace was in good shape and it just needed a new filter for the humidifier.

They did not install the furnace filter because the size they had did not fit and did not offr to come back and install the correct filter. Otherwise the service was performed as indicated.

Ignitor switch was replaced in 30 minutes. Fine. Aprilaire 500 humidifier took 4 visits and they left with it working in manual mode instead of automatic mode! 1) First Visit - Technician insisted there is no such thing as an automatic humidifier even though the box says automatic. He insisted he could not get the outdoor sensor outside without breaking down walls. He finally INCORRECTLY ran it through the exhaust pipe and attached it to the exhaust pipe. He connected the wrong voltage line to the control panel and broke it. He lied and said he connected the humidifier to the hot water line when I asked him. He left the attic a mess with the humidifier not working. I emailed Aprilaire because the manual said you could run the outdoor sensor through the fresh air pipe that was right next to the exhaust pipe and the sensor should be mounted at least 3' away from the exhaust pipe. Aprilaire said the contractor had to come back and fix that. 2) Second Visit - Ari, their best wiring guy, came to fix the problem. He rewired the control panel to its proper place and did all the wiring. I asked him to double check that the humidifier was connected to the hot water line. I saw him check and he said it was. IT WAS NOT! Ari said I had to get a new control panel because it didn't work and maybe it's because the first guy connected it to the wrong voltage. I insisted that Ari redo the sensor connection per the manufacturer's manual and email they sent me. He refused to mount it outside but mounted it inside the fresh air intake, I was told. I emailed the manufacturer and they replied that the licensed contractor was responsible for getting a replacement unit. I sent that email to Deena. I called and she said Ari said I had to get it. I told her to please read the email I sent. 3) Third Visit - Nick brings the new control panel. He follows the wiring but can't make it work. I email Eller Services complaining about how the technicians are not following the manufacturers instructions and just installing it the way they know how which isn't correct. I don't hear back, so I call and speak to the operations manager, Jennifer. She was rude and didn't want to hear anything I had to say. She said they already lost money on the job. I said, if they didn't have to come 4 times to my house, they wouldn't have lost money. I said they need to install it per the manufacturer's manual, and she said they would install it based on their knowledge. I said no. She refused to request the next technician to install it properly. 4) Fourth Visit - Ari comes back and says he'll fix it real quick. An hour later... he's got it to work in MANUAL MODE but it's an AUTOMATIC humidifier!!! My husband and I both read the instructions. Buy the correct parts. Connect the humidifier to the hot water line that is right next to the cold line. We mount and connect the outside sensor the control panel and reset the control panel. Tah-dah! It work on AUTOMATIC MODE! A week after they installed the humidifier in manual mode, it was 11% humidity in our bedroom, 20% in our living room and 29% in the basement. A day after we fixed it ourselves, it was to 24%, 24% and 27%.

I bought this on a big deal. The provider contacted me quickly, we set a date and he came out. The humidifier was removed and a new one installed while I was busy upstairs. He showed me how to use it and we were done. It was a wonderful experience as it was the minimum of effort on my part. Also, as I had been ooking for a new humidifier for my furnace for about two yeaIs, this saved me continuing my search

They are really good and the people in the office are great as well. Tech was professional as well and he took out the time to explain things to me.

It was great. He was very professional and clear. He advised me that should get a more up-to-date economical thermostat. He explained everything he did and told me about the filters and where the furnace was cleaned.

They didn't clean my furnace because they informed me that I needed a new furnace instead of a cleaning. They did response to my requests quickly. I received a call from this company requesting paid for the service they didn't provide. Angie's List has already issued a refund back to me for this deal. They suggested that I replace the furnace at that time so I contacted a different company and they said that the only thing the furnace needed was a cleaning.

I was not able to use this deal as it was for a replacement of a humidifier and did not include the installation of a new one. They were very courteous when giving me this information. They were also very kind in giving me an estimate on how much the installation of a new one would cost.

Very punctual, polite, professional, knowledgeable tech. Seemed very thorough. He answered all my questions; said the furnace was running on borrowed time due to its age but was still in good shape and did not try to be a salesperson. I would definitely call Eller when I need a new furnace and/or air conditioner.
