Mr. Moss was his usual courteous self, calling to let us know when he expected to get to our house (he has a list to work through and can't predict precisely how long a prior customer's job may take). He diagnosed the problem with setting the temperature on our oven, purchased the replacement part, and came back two days later to install it. Our only negative occurred because my husband gave Mr. Moss an advance check to buy the part. I didn't know that and Mr. Moss had forgotten when he gave me the final bill, so it required a couple of weeks of mailing back and forth to get the money straightened out. But the money was fixed, the service was excellent, and we'd definitely call him again if he hasn't retired!

Mr. Moss came out the same day I called. Fixed what needed to be fixed very efficiently. Our dryer has been working great since he came out. We will definitely contact him again if we need any appliance repairs!

I called Speedway as my dryer was making a series of beeping noises and the manual said to call a repairman. I called Speedway and after explaining to Mr. Moss that we were in the process of selling our house in a few days, he came out the next morning to check it out. He diagnosed the problem to be the control panel. We discussed options and I decided to replace the part. He ordered the part and installed it the day it arrived - the day before our out of state move. He was a pleasure to deal with and did a great job turning everything around in short order.

We had to call the technician to return when the problem wasn't fixed. He came back and discovered the compressor was defective and told us our options to get a working refrigerator. Since the refrigerator was an older model (12 yrs) we decided to purchase a new one. The technician (Moses) was always on time, responsive to our concerns.

Decision was a repair v. replacement of the washing machine. Cost of the repair was a little less that our replacement price point. No issues with service and job was completed quickly.

He was an hour late but did call to let me know. He was very nice to work with and worked quickly. I would definitely call him again.

Overall both of my experiences with Mr. Moss were very positive. He was prompt on both occasions. He fixed both of my appliances and they continue to work. I would recommend Mr. Moss to anyone.I will use him again.

I had difficulty with scheduling with this gentleman, who made a weekday appointment with me (for which I stayed home from work) and then called to inform me he had forgotten to "put it into his book." At that point he proposed a time for late that evening during I time when I would not be home. He then suggested a Saturday time, and I stated to him that Saturday was my busiest day and I really needed him to keep to his timeline if Saturday was the only day he could make it. He said he would call me and confirm the time of his arrival on Saturday. Later that evening I had two voice mail messages stating that he was at my house waiting for me - apparently there was confusion about him scheduling a Saturday appointment versus an appointment for later that day. After a phone call to straighten out that confusion and to further emphasize how busy my Saturday was, we agreed on a Saturday time of 12 noon. I received a call at 11:37 while I was away from my phone. When I called back at 11:56, he informed me that he had been just about to cancel my appointment and go on to his next appointment. I told him I was there at the house, waiting for him to show up. He said he was on his way then. He arrived at my house 1 hour and 10 minutes later. The service visit was $65 and he charged me an additional $39 for straightening my shelf and vacuuming the vent. He left a mess on my floor from the vacuum, did not offer to clean up the vacuum or the floor or put any of the food back. I was disappointed at the cost and at the experience. My refrigerator is back in working order because of the minor adjustment he performed. I would never use his service again because of this experience.

He was here right on time and did a thorough job (even getting quite wet in the process with no complaint). The price was very reasonable and the Angies discount was honored.

Our washing machine wasn't pumping the old water. We called and received same day service. Turns out one of my 3 year old daughters little socks was sucked up into the pump. The pump was replaced and haven't had a problem since. I would highly recommend them!

Everything was repaired. They had to come twice to fix the frige, however. there was no extra charge.

They were very professional and friendly. Our dryer was repaired in no time! Thank you for your great service.

The serviceman was knowledgeable, fast, polite, and humorous. He was done in less than 30 min.

I love the "old school" style of Moses. No muss...no fuss and not a lot of needless converation!

I am pretty knowledgeable about my dryer, I have worked on it before and felt comfortable replacing simple parts like the igniter and solenoid coils. It was not staying hot for the whole cycle and clothes were still damp after hours of running. I thought I had pretty good airflow coming out the exhaust and I'm good about keeping lint out of the exhaust hose. Mr. Moss took the whole hose apart and found a few additional handfuls of lint. He verified that the coils that keep the gas valve open were still good. (I had just replaced them a few days prior) Also, the blower wheel may have been slipping and causing the flame to not restart when it goes out as part of the cycle. No parts needed to be replaced, so I felt the service charge was reasonable considering he spent about two hours diagnosing the problem(s).

I called at almost 5pm on Friday for a problem I was having with my washer ( not agitating well). Mr. Moss asked when I wanted service and I told him either the next day, if possible since it was Saturday or Monday when I would be off work.He told me that if he could come Saturday moring, he wou call. He called at approximately 10 am, arrived in half an hour, fixed not only the washer, but looked at and cleaned the refrigerator and was gone in under an hour . WOW! I've washed three loads of clothes and all is well. I will definately use him again..

The hot water inlet on our washing machine was not working. I found Mr. Moss on Angie's List and explained the problem and asked him when he could come out to look at it---and he said "How about this afternoon?" That was great! Turned out some sediment had gotten up into the washing machine hose (we had a new hot water heater installed several days before that and apparently when the pump was turned off and on,some dirt got in the hot water line). He used a turkey baster filled with water to clear out the line. While he was here, I asked him to look at our oven. The oven door wouldn't close completely, which meant the oven light stayed on all the time and then burned out. He was able to bend the hinges to make it stay closed. He also looked at our over-the-stove microwave to determine why the microwave light wouldn't work. As I thought, it was a problem with the panel---which was a $100+ repair (expensive part) I didn't want to spend the money on. So I told him I'd just leave it. A couple days later, the oven light came back on again---because the door wasn't closing properly. I called him and he came out and adjusted it again at no extra charge. Six months later, it is still doing OK. Mr. Moss was very pleasant, professional, on time---and able to come out right away. He said in the refrigerator repair business you need to respond quickly when some one calls with a broken frig! I would definitely call him again if I needed appliance repair.

Had trouble figuring out water was not draining. Great persistence to solve problem.

It went very well. Mr. Moss, the Repairman, tested the dryer to insure that it was properly working.

This morning I noticed that the food in my GE Monogram refrigerator was not cold, and the ice cream in the freezer was melted. I first called called GE service and they said they could not come out to fix the fridge for a week. This was not going to work for us so I looked on Angie's List for a good appliance repair company. I called Speedway Refrigeration & Appliance and spoke to Moses Moss. He was very helpful and said he would work us into the schedule to repair the refrigerator with same day service (Please note that this took place the day after Thanksgiving). Mr. Moss came out to our home within 2 hours and got right to work. He inspected the fridge and saw that one of the drain lines was clogged, which caused the water to back up and freeze. Once that happened the fridge and freezer could not cool themselves. He also noticed that a valve was broken. Mr. Moss fixed both problems and now the fridge and freezer are working properly. This was all taken care of within one hour. I was very impressed and thought that his fee was very reasonable.

UPDATE NOV 8th 2012, Subsequent to my initial review, the business owner followed up and refunded the extra $75. I am very happy that he listened to my concerns and responded promptly. I called Speedway to have my ovens serviced in advance of thanksgiving. While the man was checking the temperature of the ovens, he asked me if my refrigerator vents had been cleaned out before. I told him that we had just moved in to a new house so I didt know the last time the refrigerator was cleaned. He checked the vents and they were very dirty. He said he could just got get his vacuum and suck out the dust. He spent 10 minutes doing the job. After he finished checking the oven temperatures, he wrote out the bill. $110 for the service call on the ovens and $75 to clean the refrigerator vents! I told him that I thought it was unfair of him to charge me an extra $75 for 10 minutes of time, especially since it was his idea to check the refrigerator in the first place. He wouldn't budge on the price, except for the 10% discount on Angie List. I feel very taken advantage of. Lesson learned: next time ask about the price before they do anything!

I called around 9:00 am and reached a voicemail system so I left a message. I received a call back around 3:30 pm from Moses. He said who he was and that he was returning my call from this morning. I explained to him that I just bought a house and the refrigerator had started to warm up. I described the symptoms, mentioned the parts I tested and the others I replaced, and then asked for his input. He said based on what I said, it was more than likely the sealed system or the compressor. Both of these parts are expensive to repair/replace so he recommended that I start shopping for a new appliance. Based on what I had researched myself this was the same conclusion I came to. He was very polite and didn't push to come have a look at it. I would definitely recommend Speedway Refrigeration & Appliance to my friends if they are ever in need of such services.

Mr. Moss responded to my initial phone call promptly and set up an appointment to look at a heating problem with my oven. He came within a week of the call, found out the problem, had the part on his truck and repaired the oven at the initial appointment. He was a pleasure to do business with and I will call him again if/when one of my appliances needs service. Thank you Angie's List!
