Description of Work: Mr. Moss repaired my 11 year old dryer which needed a new bearing and required disassembling the machine. It's working fine--no more screeching noise and thumping!

Description of Work: Refrigerator was not staying cold. Replaced temperature control in freezer. Mr. Moss spent a great deal of time defrosting the freezer so he could get under a 1/2" layer of ice to remove the control. This allowed him to get the refrigerator running temporarily until he could get a replacement part. He returned when the part arrived and he completed the repair. The refrigerator has run well since it was repaired. I have since called Mr. Moss to replace a leaking water line which ran to the freezer (ice maker). He was very prompt in responding and that repair also turned out well.

Description of Work: First time i called Speedway, a repairman told a time relay needs to be fixed. He fixed the relay and then quoted me $180 for the repair. Given the cost of the repair I would've appreciated to be quoted BEFORE the repair was done, but I paid of course. The fridge stopped a week later again. I called Speedway, and the repairman told me I have to spend another $80 on the fridge. I asked him should the $180 I paid before cover the current repair and he told me that it was a separate issue that needed to be fixed as well. Instead of ordering the service, I bought a new fridge.

Description of Work: Answered a phone call on Sunday and came out on Monday. Didn't find the leak in my refrigereator but wasn't from lack of trying. Would use them again.

Description of Work: Performed diagnostics on our Whirlpool Icemaker and Stove and identified what needed to be done to each to fix them. Moses was a very nice gentleman and very responsive to our needs.

Description of Work: I had a water leak from my ice maker hose. The company was supposed to call me before they showed up, but I got no call. The employee was annoyed that he had to go into my crawl space to turn the water off. He then cut the water line, said I should have a metal line put in, and did not offer to replace it for me. He also fixed a problem with my freezer's defrost being frozen up. Overall, my 2 problems were taken care of, but now I have no ice maker.

Description of Work: Repaired gas dryer and glass stove top. Was able to diagnose and repair both appliances. Would use him again.

Description of Work: RE: Thermodor Double Oven Repair. Because Speedway was by far best rated and most reviewed appliance repair, I called. Took Mr. Moss 2 days to return call and another day to call with estimate price. He charged $370 for a part I paid $340 with Authorized repair co. and service/labor was quoted as $200 vs $110. He said he was not familiar with Thermodor, so I called authorized repair co = Factory service Specialist. They repaired Display control kit in about 15minutes and knew what they were doing.

Description of Work: I had a dryer that refused to heat. They called before coming, were 10 minutes early (yay!) and the service gentleman was extremely kind and polite. When he didn't have the part my unit needed he drove to retrieve one and came back the same day...allowing us to leave for vacation on time! Would use again. And again.

Description of Work: I thought long and hard about writing this review. It's been a few weeks since Mr. Moss was here at our home. But I figure why do I pay for Angie's List if I don't share my experiences with others. I called because our Maytag gas dryer was heating up but not drying the clothes. He called back almost immediately and set up a time to come out the next day. I told him the problem. The dryer was hot enough but not drying the clothes. My husband (who is a machinist by trade) said it has to be an airflow problem. Mr. Moses took apart the dryer and replaced a part which had to do with the heating. Remember, it was heating up fine. He did not ask me before he replaced the part, he just when ahead and did it. Here is the reason I chose to write this review - He charged us over $61 (with tax) FOR A PART YOU CAN BUY RETAIL for under $25. He added another $120 for labor. I will be happy to supply the part number for any who are disbelieving. I asked him to please leave the part behind that he was putting in his pocket. My husband took that "bad" part in to an appliance repair place the next week to have it tested. It took them just a minute and told my husband that the part was fine and there had been no reason to replace it. But it gets worse. He left and the dryer still was not drying clothes. My husband came home and said again - it's an airflow problem. I called Mr. Moses on Thursday evening and he said well, my truck is down and I can't come tomorrow. He must have ran to bank because the check I wrote was cashed immediately. I went to the laundry mat and spent $8 to dry the clothes I had washed believing the dryer had been fixed and that my son needed for work. My husband called him on Friday and he did show up that afternoon while my husband was home. My husband showed him where the problem was. Indeed, it was nothing more than built up lint which he removed. Dryer works fine. My husband asked him why he would replace a part that had to do with heating when it was only built up lint. He said well, that part was going bad. We now know that was not true. So, in a nutshell, he overcharged for a part that sells retail for $25 (and you can get at other places for about $15) and didn't even need replacing. We paid $185 for a problem that was only built up lint. I'm not saying he should have done that for free but what he did was wrong. He will probably write some sort of rebuttal and I don't really care. My story is true - every word.

Description of Work: I own two apartment buildings and a portfolio of single family houses. I had a stretch where several refrigerators were giving my trouble, so I checked Angie's List and found Moses. He was prompt, efficient, and reasonable. He does great work, and now he's my go-to person for all of my refrigerator issues. I highly recommend him!

Description of Work: Tried to get warranty fix, but the repair person could not find the issue. Speedway came out and it took him about 30 minutes and figured out the problem. Was a cyclical thermostat, put the heat on and off during drying. What good was the warranty?

Description of Work: Our refrigerator started making a clicking and humming sound. Basically, the freezer had stopped working. We called this contractor and they came out the next day. The appliance was quickly repaired at a reasonable charge. We are pleased with the service, and quick response we received with this contractor and would use them again in the future.

Description of Work: My dryer stopped working. I chose Speedway based on Angie's List reviews. I am very happy I did. I am happy to say I am another satisfied costumer. They did everything they said they would. I was treated with dignity.

Description of Work: Mr. Moss was kind enough to fit me into his schedule. He identified and fixed my refrigerator's freezer compressor in a couple of hours. He was very nice and did a fine job.

Description of Work: My Sub Zero's ice maker gave out on me. He was extremely professional, courteous, honest and nice. Not everyone can work on a Sub Zero. He can, and he did a great job.

Description of Work: Our older washing machine stopped working 2 days before going on vacation. I called in the morning and Mr. Moss was able to make it out the same day. It ended up being a bad motor on the machine and he had it replace before I made it home from work.

Description of Work: Mr. Moss responded right away and made a trip out to our house that evening on his way home from another city. Mr. Moss took a look at our clothes dryer which was not running as it should. He said that our was blocked and shutting off the gas. He was right. Charged only a $65. service fee. Our dryer has been running great since. He could have soaked us for some new parts and labor but he was very honest about it. I would definitely recommend him and call him if I needed appliance repair again.

Description of Work: Mr. Moss was very pleasant and professional. He not only fixed the problem he showed me what to do in the future so I would not have the same problem. I had used a different company a couple of years ago and they never did tell me what to do to prevent the problem!! I highly highly recommend Mr. Moss and Speedway !

Description of Work: On Thanksgiving, we noticed our freezer was not working. I called Speedway the next morning. Mr. Moss came to the house, left to acquire the proper part and had it working before the day was over.
