The shower door install went well. They had to come back to fix the hinge but they did so quickly. They were very friendly to work with and listened to what we wanted and helped us understand the process. They also made mirrors from antique frames. They handled the frames with care and the mirrors are high quality.

They came over gave us an estimate, ordered the windows, set up an appointment when they came in. Postponed installation due to rain but rescheduled for the following week. The following week called to say the windows had been dropped and broke that they needed to express order them and they will be in the following week. The windows where put in 4 weeks after estimate was given and they look great.

My house is over 50 years old. The basement never leaked. I wanted more secure basement windows. Now my basement leaks.

They did a good job although I though it took a day longer than expected.

We were involved in a complete tear out and replacement of our bathroom shower area. The contractor I was working with asked me to hire and coordinate the installation of the custom glass enclosure and door for our new shower. Portage Glass came highly recommended as quality local glass installer and had experience installing the kind of shower enclosure we had designed. We discussed the installation with the owner Steve Ferris and he suggested that he visit the job site and discuss the behind the wall support requirements with the contractor. Steve arrived on time and was very cordial. He provided suggestions to us and the contractor that would make the install go smoothly with the least amount issues. We visited his showroom and saw an example of what he could do for us. We decided on the details and the final installation design. What was also a plus was that (1) the glass was manufactured in the State of Michigan and (2) the coating to repel water and minimize spotting was on both sides of the glass and applied in a vacuum furnace. The glass was ordered and an estimated install date was established. We received a call when the material was in and a firm date and time was set up. Steve called prior to arriving for the installation appointment. He and his crew were prompt and were respectful of rugs and flooring. The installation went well. A minor leak was detected and Steve responded in a timely manner and resolved the issue. It was a pleasure to work with this company. They were responsive, courteous and followed up on their commitments. I would use this company again for all of my future glass needs.

Protage Glass and Mirror come out and did some measuring for an estimate on time. I had to call them several time to get the final estimate when they were ready more than a week late we agreed on the price and set a date to begin the job. Steve Ferris arrived when he said he would to frame in the window opening which took about 3 hours, faster that we had expected. He then told me that the actual block widow would be installed by a subcontractor on Friday June 18. Portage Glass and Mirror then called on Wednesday 6/16 nto tell me that the window was set to be installed Friday 6/16 "afternoon". We waited for the subcontractor to show up until 5:00pm before calling Steve Ferris. We didn't get an answer until Saturday, Steve told us that the sub got held up on another job and didn't contact him until " very late Friday". I contacted PG&M on Monday 6/21 for an update, they told me that the sub would be at my house on 6/22 at 9:00am he didn't show until 10:30am. The work was completed quickly, but our weekend was a waste of time because PG&M'sa sub delayed what I had scheduled to do over the weekend. I don't know how a contractor could not communicate to his customers when delays are expected.
