fired him before he even started, but not after he took the deposit I gave him. Still waiting for the refund.

Met with Duane at our place of business and agreed on the job and the price. Signed a contract on September 2nd, 2016, and gave him $1000 down to buy the materials and get started. Today it is November 4th, the job was never done-he always had excuses. Now we have to go to court to get that money back, he doesn't return calls, not sure of his address, not very business like or professional. We hired someone else to do the job and it is nearly completed. Buyer beware, Duane likes the $$$$ but doesn't do the work.
Description of Work: We had a building that needed new drywall to finish 2 rooms.

Price- I gave him an F because he was one of the higher bidders and portrayed that he had the best strategy to deliver the highest quality service and he did less than amateur level work Quality- F my trim and cabinets looked like he dumped paint on them, there were dried paint drips at every corner and/or seam. When he sprayed the doors the drips were so bad they literally distorted the shape of the door. He then hired another guy to do the doors (which was the only positive out this job). The prep work was awful, he painted over door hinges, barely taped things off, on my sliding glass door he just painted on the window casing because it was white and so was the paint, and where he taped the trim on the floor of he had caked so much paint on that when the paint dried and the tape was removed it pulled paint of the trim. I had to physically mark all the spots on the wall where the paint was too thin and the previous color was still showing because he couldn't see it. The paint contamination was unbelievable, on the cabinet faces there was debris dried in the paint. Duane said he would fix and repair the walls as needed when he painted them, and he didn't. I had to point everything out after he painted to go back and fix them. He spilt and entire gallon of paint on my basement floor and made a make shift paint booth in my basement and got overspray all over. He did fix the paint spill but there is still overspray in my basement. He dripped paint on two of our rugs, and destroyed our garbage can. For being a painter, there was a serious lack of attention to detail. Responsiveness- F Duane would go 3-4 days with out showing up to my house, I would call him and he answered he always had some excuse Punctuality- F Because of the lack of Quality I would set up appointments to review the project with Duane and he would no call no show and then I would call him and he would simply say "oh, yeah Im not gonna make it this morning". Professionalism- F He quit the job because he already had to much labor invested and it wasn't worth his time and money to finish it. Duane tried to do the absolute minimum quality of work possible unless I spoke up. He asked for the final payment numerous times before the project was completed, and I knew better than to give him the money before it was complete. I spent about 15 hours of my own time to finish and salvage the job. He had unskilled contractors working for him and they open discussed the lack of management ability Duane had in his business. The thursday before he quit, he hadn't shown up for three days and I called him and ask what is going on. He said that the doors were at the painters, they cost $1500 and that if I want them I have to give him the final payment ($1600) or go get them myself. Because I didn't trust him, I told him I would get them myself and Friday he came into my house while i was at work took his stuff and my paint and left. Then, I called him and he said he quit the job and I am on my own for the rest of the project, I had to threaten him with small claims court to recover my paint back. DO NOT HIRE HENSLEY PAINT AND DRYWALL
Description of Work: Duane was hired 12/30/14 to paint the trim, cabinets and walls in my kitchen and living room. When we signed the contract we were told it was a 5 day job. February 5th (38 days later) Duane quit the job (and tried to take my paint) and left me to go retrieve my doors from another painter and hang them myself, hang my blinds and I had o do all his touch up and clean up work.

Duane Hensley, the owner, didn't finish the job he had started and will not return my phone calls. Unfortunately for me, I paid him while the paint was wet and the project looked good. But, after it dried, it looked terrible! I called Duane and he sent someone out who put a skimcoat of drywall over the bad spots and that is where our communication ended. He wont return my phone calls and we were forced to sand the drywall and paint it ourselves!! Buyer Beware!!!!!!
