DO NOT HIRE D & M Construction from Portage!!! Unfortunately I hired these amateurs to paint my house and do a couple of minor repairs. Long story short, he never prepped the surface of the siding and as soon as cold weather hit, the paint started peeling off all of the siding, 3 MONTHS LATER. They also painted over the vegetation growing up my siding without removing it. Not only that, there were dozens of runs on the siding as well. The runs were due to one of his workers getting drunk on the job, this info was from one of his other workers the following day. I also saw him drinking with my neighbor across the street, but thought he was on break, drinking only one beer. They over sprayed on the ground, trees, fencing, walkways, etc. Also dumped their excess paint in my fire pit. I also paid them to fix a bad spot on my roof and fix some damaged soffit and siding. There was a hole in the siding that I asked them to repair. They took some aluminum flashing, with different texture that thatn the siding, and nailed it over the hole, looking worse than the hole. The roof repair they did was to place extra singles over the damaged ones and smother it with tar, not correct. The soffit repair was first done with the correct material, but was not interlocked and cracked in 3 places. I asked them to repair it, and they did, but it was not even done with soffit, but with flashing and looked terrible. I also asked them to take care of the runs and over spray. He stated that they did, but it was a very poor effort and still looked terrible. After this, I decided to take care it with another contractor and pursue this in court. His workers are not very experienced and not professional at all. I can't think of a single positive thing that came from hiring him. He may be cheaper, but sometimes you get what you pay for. I took David McCurtis, owner, to small claims court and won a judgement against him for $1600. He has yet to pay me a dime and refuses to do so. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!

He was very unprofessional, but I hired him anyway. They cleaned up what the last company failed to do. They put on half of the roof and I pulled them off and it wasn't properly done. They did an awful job. I had them do some drywall in a bedroom. They stuffed old news paper behind the drywall.
