Bel-Aire Heating & Air Conditioning-Kalamazoo

I contacted Bel-Aire Heating & Air for a furnace and air inspection and they were able to get me in quickly. I knew my furnace was older and wasn't operating very well and their tech was able to confirm what I suspected was happening with my furnace. They scheduled a comfort advisor to come out and give me some information on furnace and a/c replacement so I could plan that in proactively rather than waiting for it to stop working. I was very impressed with the salesmen and their knowledge. We never felt pressured to purchase anything, and loved that there were options at different price levels to meet my needs. I decided to purchase both a new furnace and a/c. They just finished the installation and I am super pleased with the service. They completed the job faster than they quoted and were very careful in my house and did an excellent job of cleaning up from the installation to completion. I would absolutely highly recommend Belaire Heating & Air Conditioning if you are looking for the best heating system at a great price. I love my new systems. the guy unplugged the ignition and said we had a "carbon monixide leak" and "red tagged" it. the guy was 1 1/2 hours late. this was the south haven BelAire. If anyone is in the vanburen allegan county area do not ise this company!!!! what a rip off and completely unprofessional

Company not happy with cancelled check stated they would never do business with us again. Lol

It went fine; I've used them for maintenance for years.

We've decided that its time to replace the old one and will be coming back to quote install a new one. The workers were very good, professional and descriptive about what was wrong and needed fixed. They went through the process well and answered all of my questions.

They were very prompt, they informed me thoroughly about what was going on and what might be needed in the future and I felt very confident that everything was going to be working well.

Showed me where the fuse to AC was so if it went out again, I could purchase one and avoid a service call.

The technician was fantastic. He walked me through everything and showed me where the cracks were and all that. He then came out again to do the full replacement of the heat exchanger. He did an excellent job. He was a super nice guy, but because he was so busy with that, he forgot to do something else that was part of the maintenance, but he got the safety issue taken care of. I am part of their preferred package where you get priority scheduling and annual maintenance. So, I use them every year.

I used the Bel Aire annual maintenance contract for the 4 years I owned my home. The annual spring AC checkup and fall furnace checkup was always worth it. The technicians were punctual, courteous and provided explanations for everything they did.

He told me he will replace the humidifier filter. He charged me for one, but two months later I checked it and it was not replaced. It was all full of calcium so bad it was flaking off into the cover. It look to me that it has never been replaced in 3 years Since they installed it. Also, the humidifier started to leak 3 months after being installed. They came out one told me it was not installed properly. They changed out the pipes and fixed it. Then they then sent me a bill for $154.00 for fixing what they didn't do right in the first place.

No problems-done quickly, 2 yr old furnace

On two different occasions, my whole house humidifier's drain was not reconnected resulting in a partially flooded basement. My time was spent mopping up their mistake without any offer of compensation from them. My experience dealing with the manager convinced me that this business doesn't back-up their work.

When the Be lAire technician checked the furnace he came back up immediately and said the furnace was unsafe - that the heat exchanger was bad. He did reported to Bel Air's office and a sales person came out that same day. The sales person was focused on selling one of the top of the line furnaces. Neither the sales person nor the technician inquired about whether the exchanger might be under warranty. After looking up the warranty on the furnace we discovered the furnace was under warranty. I discussed our situation with a friend and she suggested we call the company that installed their central air conditioner. That company looked at our situation and indicated that even though they were not a Tempstar furnace dealer that they could order a replacement part under warranty and install it. They also said if we wanted to replace the furnace they would not recommend the top of the line furnace because we plan on moving within 5 years and would not receive enough benefit to buy the expensive furnace. That company gave us the options we needed and were looking out for our best interest. The lesser ratings are due to Bel Aire not inquiring if our furnace was under warranty and focusing on selling the most expensive furnace rather than considering our individual situation and offering an alternative of repairing the furnace we had for much less money.

The furnace is from 1989. It still works just fine. Bel Aire -- as part of their service contract of furnace and a/c -- set up an appointment, sent a technician, and performed the service. Setting up the appointment was easy. They called to confirm. An hour before the service, the technician called to confirm a 2 p.m. meeting time. He showed up at 2 p.m. on the dot. He cleaned and checked everything -- including for carbon monoxide. He was professional and cordial. It all went exactly as I had hoped it would.

My 20 plus year old furnace tried but would not come on so I called Bel Aire. They came out about 5 days later. The serviceman was punctual, very personal and professional, willing to answer any questions. I needed a new furnace and he set up an appointment with a salesperson the next day. He was also professional and gave me all my options. The installers came on time, also professional answering all questions. They noticed that I did not need a chimney liner which saved me 189 dollars. They cleaned up everything after they had finished. The refund, however, took 3 weeks to come, which seemed a little too long. All in all I had a good experience dealing with Bel Aire.

Great - I really appreciated that he took the time to explain everything, even though there was no charge for the visit. I plan to use BelAire for future service on our furnace.

With each visit from the technician they would find something else wrong...and then they would and quot;fix itand quot; and leave and the furnace wouldn't work. It took 5 or so visits for them to get it working. The last visit I was told someone needed to be there for them to get in the house so I arranged for a person to be there (as I was working) and then when they called to say they were coming they stated that they didn't need to get in the house...frustrating.

We called Bel Aire about our brown colored hot water and they sent out a service manager three hours later, much quicker than I expected. He came out and discussed our options recommending to replace the water heater because the color was due to the inner lining deteriorating (14 year old water heater). They gave us the quote and we scheduled our service for 36 hours after the initial meeting. The technicians showed up right on time, put down cloth to walk on so as not to damage our wood floors, and completed the job in about 1 hour 45 minutes. All over it was extremely smooth and every person associated with the company was friendly and happy to answer any questions. I had other companies quote as well but nobody seems as knowledgeable and friendly as the staff at Bel Aire.

After they sold me something they forgot who I was. If I called and complained about anything, nobody called me, they just forgot about me.

They had good service, local and haven't had any problems.

One person came out and then another person had to come out because the first person never actually fixed the problem. They seem to have some new employees and the service is no longer as top notch as it used to be.
