Requested bids from about eight contractors on an extensive roof job over two month period. Most were prompt in sending someone to give estimates. Estimates ranged from about $8000 to $16000 plus $25 to $40 per sheet for extra plywood. Most were very thorough and others not so much. In fact one guy didn't even go on the roof. Roof One was one of three contractors I seriously considered. Steve McCusker came back multiple times to answer new questions that came up during the winnowing process. Due to the scope of the repair work needed, he had his carpenter go over all that needed to be done with me. I tried to get all of the details worked out and on paper so there wouldn't be any surprises. The and quot;contractand quot; was signed on 5/15/2012. Then I waited. And waited. This was the biggest negative aspect of my Roof One experience. The lack of communication after the contract was signed was beginning to make me think that I had made a big mistake. Finally on 6/26/2012 I was called to tell me the materials would be delivered and the job would be started the next day. It actually got started two days later. One started, it took about three days to complete. Considering how much work was done and how hot it was, I thought it was an excellent job. It took another long day to wrap the fascia and posts and install the soffit vents with a different crew. Then it took another short day to install the gutters and downspouts with a third crew. All in all about five full days of work over about ten day span. Really not too bad. One final critique. I was told explicitly that the crews were direct employees of Roof One (W-2s not 1099s). That may be, but the conduct, demeanor and appearance of some of the roofing crew left me wondering. I know it's a tough dirty job and somebody has to do it, but a more uniform appearance (like matching tee-shirts) might make the crew look more professional. Also, communication between the crew chief and workers could be improved. I'm no carpenter, but simple things like double checking measurements before cutting expensive laminated beams to final length would seem to be elementary.

Roof One did an excellent job from start to finish! My salesman was knowledgeable and professional. Both the roofing and siding crews were very courteou and professional. They answered any question I had. After both jobs were done, they did a wonderful clean up! I would definately recommend and already have recommended Roof One,

They did a good job. I went to them because my son-in-law is in the gutter business and he has worked with them for a lot of years. I thought they were good and I didn't have any problems.

The project went really well and fast. The crew was very concise and did the job to perfection. Clean up was really good as well. No trash or scraps left behind.

Initially, we decided to go with Roof One because they were a local company. We are very sorry that we did. We first met with Steve (the salesman). We were impressed. The workers that did the tearoff and installation of the roof did a horrible job. The "foreman" on the job apparently ended up getting fired due to the poor job he did on the roof. We had a bad storm and part of the roof pulled up. (This was due to their failure to replace rotten wood.) The workmanship overall was substandard. They came back a couple of times for quality issues, which I don't feel were totally corrected. We have a 65 year old home. Due to how they vented the roof, we now have a very cool second floor. They ended up giving us a slight break in the price; however, I would have paid the full amount if it would have been a quality job.

THESE PEOPLE ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY CAME OUT AND DID A GREAT JOB IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE PRICE OF THE JOB WAS VERY REASONABLE AND I THINK THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEM.

I THINK THAT THIS COMPANY WAS PRETTY GOOD ALL THE WAY AROUND. I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPANY AT ALL. I HAVE ALREADY RECOMMENDED THEM TO OTHER PEOPLE, BECAUSE THEY DID A GREAT JOB FOR ME.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. IT TOOK THEM A VERY LONG TIME TO GET THE ROOF DONE. THEY KEPT THEIR WORKING ENVIRONMENT VERY DISORGANIZED. SOMEHOW, WHEN THEY WERE FINISHED THERE WERE HOLES ALL THROUGHOUT THE ROOF. THEY WERE TERRIBLE.

I THINK THAT THIS COMPANY WAS EXCELLENT. THE QUALITY OF THEIR WORK WAS GREAT. THEY DID EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED THEM TO DO, AND THEY DID IT WELL. I ALSO THOUGHT THAT THE PRICE OF THEIR SERVICES WAS REASONABLE.
