BEWARE— Originally thought we hired LAGO tree service who was recommended by niece who was happy with Nick & LAGO’s work & told me to talk with Nick They were in the process of changing names to A&P due to nasty family divorce so when I called fast talker promise them anything Adam answered said he was working for Nick He was out immediately to give bid Paid FIVE THOUSAND cash making the mistake of trusting they’d come back as promised and finish the job Got their $3K estimated job — They NEVER came back to finish—no call— nothing —husband should’ve NEVER trusted they’d be back but because our niece had a good experience with LAGO we didn’t question the fact they had no business letterhead to write estimates when explained the whole divorce thing Number we had now has GUY on other end claiming he’s not affiliated anymore and company is now P&A If you call P&A get EVERYTHING in writing Do not trust Nick or Adam if they’re with this company that has changed names three times now — that alone are big red flags We are seniors on fixed income— Recently talked w/lawyer and weighing our options but they totally screwed us…had given our neighbor an estimate and never followed up with them either. Maybe we fell through the cracks with all the chaos in the company but still paying off the $5K loan we took out —

SENIORS BEWARE Nick at LAGOS tree service was highly recommended by family last November I called Nick at the “LAGOS’ number given me by my niece. An “Adam” answered. When I asked for Nick he said he worked for Nick and could help me. He was out here that night to look at the job. This tree was over our septic tank and drain field. We expressed great concern about that since his crew would have to lower & drop logs vs using an aerial lift with a buggy & Adam assured us that was not a problem & they could work around it. Last time we had a company trim this tree they were able to avoid septic area using a buggy so trusted his reassurance to protect the septic. He gave us Three quotes ~~ (*See Picture) ~~ $3K to top it——$6K to take down equal to house——$9K to completely remove it. We went with the $6K estimate—Was given a much appreciated senior discount — offered another discount saying he’d throw in trimming bottom of pine tree if we paid cash so I took out a Five Thousand Dollar loan to pay cash. Second picture shows where LAGOS/A&P/P&A decided to stop the job. At the $3K estimate. That’s a $2K problem. Gets complicated but things to look for…… Noticed there was an A&P logo on the truck~~not LAGOS. When I asked who A&P was, Adam said they were in the process of ‘re-branding’ from LAGOS to A&P due to nasty family divorce & were in the process of getting letterhead-brochures etc made up. — ok. It happens. So no written estimate was given— I trusted their word since my niece highly recommended Adam’s boss, Nick at LAGOS— A crew of 8 or so Mexican workers showed next morning on time as promised. Adam nor any other company supervisor came by the day of the job. Unfortunately the day the crew was here I had to leave. I told my husband to make sure he asked for a paid receipt if they finished before I got home. I figured they may not have new letterhead but surely would have receipt books… They had no letterhead or receipts so my husband had one of the crew that spoke English write on one of our scratch pads they were paid $5K cash in full. That was our professional receipt. Unfortunately I learned after the fact my husband was not sure exactly what was agreed upon with Adam the night before since I’d been handling bids from couple of companies & everything moved quite quickly once Adam was involved. So my husband, trusting what was agreed upon was done, just paid them when they said they were done and they left cash in pocket. I never thought babysitting the project would be necessary. I blindly trusted them. When I arrived back home and saw the job was NOT completed as promised I called my niece who recommended these people—told her what happened. She suggested I talk directly to Nick who she dealt with & gave me Nick, from what was LAGOS TREE SERVICE, cell number so I could talk to him, the boss, directly. Nick was understanding accommodating and sent Adam back out immediately that night to address the problem—Adam agreed job was not completed as promised. I then said “ok you can refund the other $2K or finish the job”—Adam wouldn’t entertain refunding & preferred to complete the job and Promised to be back within ‘a couple of weeks’ to finish it as agreed upon. Took this company less than 24 hours to bid the job & have a crew out…yet it’d be a couple of weeks to get back and correct the job? Not admirable customer service but it was already November—winter was coming so figured they’d complete it before winter. Winter came and went. They NEVER came back—never called—NO follow up. I sent a message to A&P email address I had when the weather broke to see when/if they planned on finishing the job we paid for. Avoided talking to Adam the salesman who’s word didn’t mean anything. Some guy did call me back. I told him I was looking to talk to Nick or someone about completing this expensive job that Adam had promised to finish. The guy I talked with said he didn’t work with A&P anymore — didn’t really know Adam—didn’t say anything about Nick but was sorry to hear what happened. He proceeded to tell me the company was no longer LAGOS or A&P that he thought the company was now called P&A & he had nothing to do with them anymore. First it was LAGOS then A&P now P&A — HUGE RED FLAGS SURROUNDING A COMPANY WITH SO MANY NAME CHANGES in a matter of months~~ Still not sure what happened here. My niece is very intelligent and honest. She would’ve NEVER recommended Nick from LAGOS unless he did right by her. Not sure if my husband and I fell thru the cracks during all the chaos this company was experiencing—If Adam turned out to be an incompetent employee or Nick lost interest in making the company work—but my husband and are a paying the price. I’ve never had to write a review like this. Hope I never have to again. In conclusion if you use LAGOS/A&P/P&A or whatever name they’re now using GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING—STAY HOME—SUPERVISE THE WORK—or hire another company.
