Mr. Bid did not do this work himself. He subcontracted another company to do the work. I liked the guy that came to do the work but he didn't seem to have any sense of how to do this work without making a mess. They didn't tape off the vents, which were wide open without covers at the time of the work. As far as I can tell, they didn't tape off anything because there was dust after in the kitchen and in the bathroom. Communication was also not good. They missed the deadline they told me the work was going to be done but didn't bother to tell me that that was going to be the case. When I asked about the mess they left he said he'd come back the next day to clean up but didn't. He came back eventually, two or three days later to clean up. After inspecting the work I noticed that there were lots of exposed nail heads. I've done one of these projects before and know from experience, and have had this verified by others I've talked to who know how to do a pro refinishing job, that you hammer those nails down and seal the hole with a putty. Ideally this is done before the stain or seal are applied. Mr. Bid's subcontractors did not do this, initially. I asked him to come back and do it and he did but missed at least half of them. I asked him to come back again and he did but still missed a bunch. At this point I was worn down by the process and finally just paid Randy, the owner. Annoyingly, when the owner asked about the project and the subject of the nails came up he argued with me that these details are not within the scope of a floor refinishing project. The floors themselves looked really good. And I thought Randy was pretty easy to work with on the phone, overall. But I don't like the experience of dealing with a contractor who is not on site for the work he's guaranteeing and also didn't seem to be in much communication with the subcontractor either. I'm giving them three stars because I expect work to be of the highest quality. I could have refinished these floors myself but didn't because I'm in the middle of moving houses. So I hired the job out. You do that to avoid hassles, like sweating the details of exposed nails. Obviously Randy's sub crew didn't want to deal with that minutia and preferred the broader job of sanding and finishing. But I was paying for pro work, fine details included.

Treat the customer as the customer!! Mr. Bid fails at that! If the customer doesn’t want contractors/strangers in their home, respect it. You say you’ll have a project manager then have one. Ours quit and was never replaced. Kitchen remodel never finished. Spoke to all of the contractors and the same thing was said. They were concerned about getting paid. All contractors are really subs that own their own businesses. They don’t work for Randy. Beware you’ll never see breakdowns on cost. Still waiting for kitchen to be finished from march 15,2020. Save yourself the stress go to someone else.

Hired Randy and Mr. Bid Services team on a full house design and renovation services in Detroit with Shawn as the PM for much of it. Project was very slow to execute (took 17 months) and I never felt like I was treated like a customer. It was more like they were doing me a favor anytime I asked for updates or pushed for progress to be done. Was disappointed in timeliness and quality of workmanship by Mr. Bid and its subcontractors. Mr. Bid Services has also refused to honor the construction warranty to address issues discovered within first few months of completion. Examples of mistakes included not flashing a vent to the roof, failure to hardware smoke alarms, drywalling over outlets/live wires, failure to create drain system for attic air handler condensate, failure to vent toilets, not affixing counter to cabinets, and overall poor planning of cabinetry measurements. I ended up having to hire a plumber, HVAC, and electrician to fix some of the critical problems left over by Mr. Bid. Additionally the LVT flooring that they recommended and installed has already started to come apart in several places. I have reached out to Mr. Bid regarding warranty work for the above items and have been met with radio silence. Do not recommend.

Everything went great and witttthout a hitch. The price for comparable carpeting that we selected was cheaper than a couple of other places that we checked. We took our time selecting the carpeting and there was never any sales pressure to buy. Rob McBee did a good job recommending certain styles a patterns after we told him what we were interested in. Installers were on time and did a good job installing. Would hire again.

Very pleased with Mr. Bid and will work with them again if I have a carpet issue. My finished basement had a water intrusion issue requiring me to pull a significant amount of it up and throw away the padding that was drenched. Sales associate (Jesse) was able to quote me over the phone based on my description and schedule the repair the same week. Repair included replacing padding, replacing tacking that was removed due to water, repairing a seem that had to be cut, and stretching and the carpet back into place. There's a little "scar" from where the seem was cut because due to my imperfect cutting, but Tom did all he could and it doesn't look that bad. Glad to have this ordeal over with and grateful to Mr. Bid for fast, quality and reasonably priced service.

It went extremely well Can't say enough good things about Jesse from Mr Bid He made a trip out in a snow storm to look at the job and had it finished within 15 min and would not except any money who does that in todays society ???? All he asked is if I would keep him in mind for any future business well I can assure you Jesse you will be the first one I call thanks again for your service sincerely Steve Fons

They did a great job!

Everything went perfect! From the time the salesman showed up (on time) to the time the installers left (cleaned everything) was great. Highly recommend. I had 3 quotes and they were the best bang for the buck. Didn’t try and oversell!

I gave them 5 stars even though my project had a problem. Why? Because when it comes to home improvements, it's rare that projects go perfectly the first time. It's how a company handles it when that happens that counts. Will they stop returning your calls? Will they tell you there is nothing they can do? Will they treat you as an unimportant customer since you've already paid? Mr. Bid did not do that. Situation: When they installed the carpet on my stairs the installer failed to line the pattern up with the edge of the stairs on half of the staircase. He might not have noticed, or pulled too hard when stretching it...heck, it even took me an hour or two after they left to notice it. But once I did it was very obvious that it had to be fixed. I was nervous if/how they would handle my situation, especially since mine was a relatively small and inexpensive job to begin with. The lead installer (part owner) came to fix it and took all morning making it look near perfect. So even though my job did not go perfectly, and it took more days/hours than anticipated, I give them 5 stars for the job, their integrity and the respect I felt. I would definitely work with these guys again. Plus, their prices are great!

Went pretty well overall, kitchen turned out really sharp! And complete transformation throughout house. Get constant comments on flooring! Everybody loves and has to feel. A couple few delays along the way, but not necessarily your fault. Professionalism and workmanship was top notch. Thanks Randy! The place looks great!

It was very quick and quiet my daughter was still asleep and didn't hear a sound. The day I called they came right out gave me an estimate and was very polite. I thank you guys for everything we love are New carpet!

It went well both times I had them do some work for me. They helped put my basement back together the first time after I had the removal and dry out from another company. That company really screwed me and Mr Bid helped me so I used them again for the entire project the second time. They were great both times.

The services were excellent. The work was done professionally. They showed up on-time. They did the work they were going to do. They also charged a fair rate.

Mr. Bid came out to give an estimate on time!! Quote was given immediately & price was the best (I got 4 quotes), install was promised & guys showed up exactly when I was told. Mr Bid & the team rock!!
