Absopure bought out our original bottled-water servicer (Pine Valley Water, St. Louis), several years ago. We've had nothing but problems since. The main problem concerned delivery. There was never a set date, the delivery man came when he wanted. This made it difficult to put out our empties and figuring out how much water we needed. Several times we ran out of water, having to buy 1-gallon jugs at a store, because they would not make an extra drop-off before the next scheduled date. On or about 4-10-2013, I had had enough. We were again out of water and the delivery man hadn't come. After calling the 800#, they would send him that day. I had appts. to honor and got back in the late afternoon. Still, no delivery. I called again and cancelled our service. Later, after 5 pm., the delivery man came to pick up the empties. I told him that I had cancelled service. He asked why and I explained that the delivery and pick-up was the biggest problem. I asked him about the recent delivery date change, that I was not made aware of. He said that he thought it would be better for me, to change the dates. This was beyond logic! After that I looked the company up on Angie's List and wasn't surprised to find all "F's" in the reviews. So, on 4-12-2013, I spoke with Debbie, who acknowledged the pick up of 13 empties and a refund to me of $78.xx. I asked that my refund be applied to my credit card. She said she had "begun the process", and it would take 6-8 weeks to complete. On 5-22-2013, I spoke with Allison, inquiring about the refund, since it was not 6 weeks. She said the refund was still "in progress", and I should wait two more weeks and call again. On 6-25-2013, I spoke with Debbie who said the refund "was still in progress," even though it was not 12 weeks since I requested the refund. Debbie could not explain this. I spoke with the supervisor, Lisa, who didn't have an idea when I would be credited. The acct. manager was on vacation and had this information; he would return on Monday, 7-1-2013. She did find out later that the refund "was on the next check run." I asked that she or the acct. manager call me on Monday, 7-1-2013, to update me. At 4:00 pm on Monday, 7-1-2013, I had to call Lisa at Absopure, as she had not returned my call as previously arranged. After being hung up on, I called back, spoke with Lisa, who had no further information other than the refund was "in progress." Her supervisor, Cara Lupinski, was unavailable, as she was on vacation, because it was summer, you know. Her manager, Wm. Patrick Young, was not available, as he was gone for the day. So at the present time, I don't have my refund, and no one at Absopure knows why.
Description of Work: Picked up 13 empty, 5-gallon water bottles. Owes me a refund of $78.xx.

Not well. I cancelled our account.
Description of Work: We have had Absopure for approx. the past 5 years. They bought out the local company (Pine Valley Water, St. Louis, MO). We have had problems with them since. Mostly with the delivery. We were originally receiving deliveries 2X/mo.;they were changed to monthly. We were given a calendar for the year with the delivery dates highlighted. Why, I don't know, since none of the deliveries came on those dates. Had to call for more water and missed deliveries by Absopure. We eventually would pad our water bottle amount to make sure that we would have enough to cover musical delivery dates. And as we didn't know which date the driver would come, we would end up with as many as 15 empty bottles and 10 full bottles. Had to call several times just to get someone to come pick up the empties. Now we had our deliveries changed to monthly to every other month -- by the driver. The driver changed our delivery schedule without notifying us. So we ran out of our extra bottles, called the company and were told it was changed. Spoke with two "managers"; one named Bo, and one named Terry. Both were less than helpful. Bo was not at all interested in the problem, but said we'd get our delivery that day. Later as approx. 2 pm, I called and talked to Terry, to ask about the time, as I had to leave for an appt, and I had 13 empties to be picked up. He wasn't interested either and kept interrupting. I had had enough. I cancelled our account. Then I had to explain it to the driver when he called 2 hrs later. I asked about the schedule change to every other month, he said, "I thought it would be good for me and you."

Description of Work: I am responding to a request from Angie's List to evaluate the Absopure Company ~ it was not initiated by me. But as being asked, I, as a thoughtful consumer, must give an honest response, as follows: -Poor communication. -Bottle conditions deplorable (filthy with black substance embedded in exterior). -At times, the clarity of the water, itself, was in question. -Punctuality was a continuing issue (many no-shows with no correspondence) -Water began to taste peculiar ~ we started to drink more and more store bought water instead, i.e. Fiji. -Management was responsive and tried unsuccessfully to make ammends and with promises that the situations/my concerns would better, but sadly they never improved. -My patience depleted after several years of working with this company since they had bought out a local company (Pine Valley Water) ~ I gave multiple chances (month after month, year after year) because I thought it was new and needed to iron out the difficulties. _ Finally, I just felt foolish to continue making the same calls every month and that it was way overdue for me to explore a new water delivery service. -Lastly, with great regret, I definitely would " never -ever" recommend the Absopure Company as a reputable service. Additional Note: I did speak to the management upon my cancellation with all the concerns noted above, as well as, shared with him Angie's List where I had read a negative service evaluation, while looking for a new water delivery company. (He was not aware of Angie's List, but was trying to take a look at it while we were on the phone.)

They almost never come on their scheduled day. They put out a calendar that is rarely correct. If there is a change in the driver's route, the driver might call you to let you know. I feel like I have to call them the day of or the day before. It's important that we put the bottles out on the correct day, so that they don't blow away. Most recenlty I called the day before and confirmed our pick up date and time. The day of the appointment, I called them to check again - at that time they informed me that they would need to reschedule. The service is poor. The water is good and the price is reasonable. It has been extremely difficult to schedule pick up and delivery. The behavior is clearly a pattern. It has been going on since we initiated service. I was supposed to receive a call from a distrubution manager, but I never received any call. I had to call them back and speak with the distribution department and they told me that the driver was out sick and he'd probably be out sick tomorrow as well.
Description of Work: They pick up and deliver water to us for our water dispenser. We are a residential account.
