Description of Work: Needed new air conditioning and furnace. Did a great job. This was about 12 years ago. Had a 10 year warrantee that they honored. ALso for a fee came out 2x per year to thoroughly check out operation. Just seemed a little more expensive than others, but probably because was system that used the latest refridgerant type.

+ -1 moreMy dishwasher stopped working and had a blinking light. Dunlap did spend about an hour diagnosing and fixing the dishwasher. It turned out that the drain was clogged with food and that was preventing the heating element for working. I appreciated Dunlap taking the time to explain it to me.

+ -1 moreThey performed the services fine. When I called, I was told that they would have someone at my home before 5PM or they would call. The repairman showed up at 6:30 PM and I did not receive a call. I had assumed they were not coming and was about to leave when he showed up. The repairmen did a fine job and checking and repairing the furnace. The Dulap's Services Network actually sent a repairman from another company-which is apparently in the same network was closer to my home.
Description of Work: Furnace Check and blower motor replacement.

+ -1 moreQuick and efficient. Only issue was the cost for the 20 minute visit (and no new parts). Diagnostic of $89.75.
Description of Work: Had water leak from furnace, was quickly diagnosed and fixed (hose had pulled off ). Technician also inspected the rest of my furnace including the humidifier and changed the water mesh element (cost of new element $13).

+ -1 moreMy call was answered promptly. Even though this firm did not typically install the HEPA I purchased for my asthma, they were extremely willing to help me out. Within less than 24 hours of my first call, I had an appointment with the owner to assess my HVAC setup and determine the best solution for my particular situation. Within a couple of days, the firm indicated they would have no problem installing my equipment and even recommended some improvements in installation of my variable speed furnace which was installed incorrectly by another firm. Additionally, my UV light was not installed in the most efficient place. So Tim, who actually did the work about a week later, moved the unit without additional charge. He said it made installing the HEPA easier if he moved it to the correct location on the furnace.
Description of Work: Initially requested an estimate to attach my previously purchased humidifier and HEPA system to my HVAC.

+ -1 moreI received same day service although it was a little frustrating that Dunlap does not give you a time frame right away. I'm a stay-at-home mom, so I had the flexibility and it was OK with me. They did give me a call en route so I had about a 30 minute warning. The service was satisfactory; he pulled out the range and took off the back and determined that the circuit board was broke. At a cost of nearly $500 to replace, we are opting to replace the entire range.
Description of Work: The oven in our 5-year old Frigidaire range stopped working, so I had Dunlap come to take a look at it.

+ -1 moreHe arrived exactly at the appointed time, brought his own booties to protect my floors, answered my questions, and left the area as clean as when he arrived.
Description of Work: I had my furnace inspected and cleaned. In addition, the humidifier filter needed to be replaced and that was taken care of as well. The serviceman was knowledgeable, professional, and respectful.

+ -1 moreMy A/C went out on a 90+ degree day. The technician was there in about 2 hours and said we needed a new fan motor and capacitor (@$600). Since my unit was 40 years old, I asked about a new one. He told me if I signed a contract for a new unit, he would fix my old one without charge so that we could have A/C while waiting for the appointment. I agreed and he spent about two fixing the old unit. The installation happened about a week later. The installer's were very courteous and professional. The team leader even noticed that my electronic air cleaner was very dirty and cleaned it for me! The installation took about 6 hours. I am quite pleased with the equipment and personnel.
Description of Work: Complete replacement of central A/C unit.

+ -1 moreGood, thorough job. The manager who gave us the estimate was the only contractor to measure the house to determine the correct furnace size. When the technicians did the actual work, they found that they would have to do much more extensive ductwork repair than planned and recut the sheet metal at no extra cost. As a result, it took 2 1/2 days instead of 1 day but I think that was because of the complexity of the setup (they kept finding new stuff that had to be replaced). All staff I talked with were very courteous and seemed very knowledgeable. They were very willing to explain exactly what they did. They also covered up the hallway floors and did a good cleanup. The only issue was that their office staff gave us outdated forms for financing and a furnace rebate and as a result, someone had to bring us the correct forms a few days later to sign. But, the equipment seems to be working well.
Description of Work: They replaced our furnace, air conditioner, and water heater and replaced the surrounding ductwork. They also installed a humidifier and a new thermostat.

+ -1 moreThe service charge for an emergency call was $150 vs. the $90 it would have been through the other company; however, when the other company finally got back to me, they advised they couldn't be out until Tuesday! Dunlap came as promised! I was very impressed with the technician's professionalism and prompt service, along with the care and concern of the dispatch service. I plan to deal with this company from now on, as another company I have dealt with for years doesn't even have an answering machine to take calls after hours, far less any emergency type calls.
Description of Work: Our air went out on a Saturday evening, Memorial Day weekend, during 90 degree weather. Not knowing who, if anyone, would respond on a holiday, I checked Angie's List & the Yellow Pages, & called 3 companies. The first one that responded is who I made arrangements with to come out the next day between 10:00 & noon. By 2:00 pm, when no one arrived, I called for a status report & was told there were 5 other calls ahead of me & they had no idea when I might get service. With indoor temps now nearing 90, I called Dunlap, whom I had turned down the previous night, as I thought I would be getting serviced from the 1st caller. When I explained my predicament, the dispatcher was very kind & sympathetic, & said she would do what she could to get someone out to our home that day. A service technician was at my home less than 2 hours later. Within 20 minutes, our air was running & he even fixed a problem that the company I usually deal with never seemed to get right.
