+ -1 morewithin an hour after Keith left, i got a call that the installer would be out the next morning and when to expect him. he arrived on time with a helper, introduced themselves and got to work immediately. when he removed a part that looked similar to a car's radiator, he showed me some cracks in it that he said let out carbon dioxide and said it was a good thing we were replacing it. the worker enlarged and reconfigured the slot for the furnace filter and added arrows so i will be sure to put it in the right. I was never entirely sure with the previous set up if it was right or not. they changed the valves, put in the new thermostat and tested it. the 2 men worked for close to 6 hours steadily, were very nice. yworks great!
Description of Work: Keith, owner, diagnosed the different noises i'd noticed, checked the entire system and explained what was wrong or of concern. he gave me several options re: repair old system vs. new system, different brands if we elected a new system. he said if the entire system was replaced they would make sure to clean the air conditioning coils because they could not be reached without removing the system and take advantage of opportunity. he noted the fan was off balance and when the furnace was turned on it had trouble revving up properly. after discussion with my husband via phone we decided to replace our 1998 system with Keith's recommended Carrier brand. Keith told me his installer who had worked for him for 7 or so years would be providing the service and Keith, who has been in business for close to 23 years, knew the installer would do a good job and was very nice. i told him of a small gas leak at a valve that the installers for our fireplace found and he said he would fix it. he noted that the valves we had were not up to inspection. Keith said they would remedy the difficulty we had putting the furnace filter in the slot.

+ -1 moreWhile I did not go with this company for the job, it had more to do with the complexity of my new system, and the brand of furnace that Patriot recommended. However, Keith was entirely professional, gave me a written quote on the spot, and seemed totally willing to work with whichever direction I wanted to take the job (partial vs. complete gut and reinstall of the ducting system). I would totally trust him to do work in my home in the future.

+ -1 moreHe finally called me back and told me that he needed all the money up front to buy the units that he suggested. I went out of my way to deliver the money and he purchased the materials. After canceling once in late November, he came to my house, December 3 do the job. He was in my drive this morning with the materials and after a few minutes he just drove away. I had to call him and ask him what was going on and he proceeded to tell me he no longer wanted to be involved with this project. I of course asked for my money back and he said he would mail me a check.
Description of Work: He came to the house and evaluated the project in September. I needed heat to reach my third floor and an AC unit replaced. I have called him many times and he put the job off.

+ -1 moreI contacted several heating and cooling places about my furnace replacement, including the company that had performed work for me in the past. Then a trusted family member recommended Keith at Patriot Plumbing and Heating. I called and Keith answered his phone personally and was able to schedule a timely visit. He was prompt and not only was his estimate less than the other estimate I had received, he gave me solid reasons for why he made the recommendations he did. We were able to schedule a service date within a week. The new installation required some retrofitting and they did a beautiful job. His workers kept their work area clean and also cleaned up after finishing. Keith personally worked with them and supervised them - and - he even put up a quick coat of fresh paint behind the old furnace before the new one was installed. I would highly recommend talking to Keith at Patriot Heating and Cooling before making a final decision on who to work with for your heating and cooling needs.

+ -1 moreThey are reasonably priced and always have nice personnel. They let my husband supervise and talk to them while they work. They always responde quickly if we have any problems. You don't feel like they're out to get you and stick you with more work/money.

+ -1 moreThey got back to me with options and an estimate very quickly. They beat other companies prices by $1000 or more. They got to work the next week. They showed up on time. They finished in 3 days. They were very careful not to make a mess of the house while they were working. They covered the carpet with plastic and cardboard. They used a tray when drilling the ceiling so the blown in insulation didn't go everywhere. They cleaned up when they were done, it looked great!
