Description of Work: We had them come to give an estimate on extending the gas line for a water heater (we currently have an electric water heater) and for a gas dryer. The service tech took a long time to completely check everything out. He explained how the work would be done if we decided to go forward with the project and called the following morning with a full estimate and with the estimate broken out for each project if we decided to just do one conversion.

Description of Work: Prompt return of phone call after the July 4th holiday. They said they could send a service man out in 30 minutes however, I fixed the problem with my hot water heater myself. If I continue to experience the same problem (quick cycling) I will call them for service.

 + -1 moreI called for an appointment on 5-12-2011....Ostlund had a very professional Plumber on my porch the very next day at 9am...Impressive to say the least. The job of replacing the outside faucet included removing the ceiling panels in our finished basement to get access to the piping for solder work to attach the new faucet. The area where the work was performed in the basement was left spotless...what a refreshing experience. Fantastic service, price and extremely professional people every step of the process...from the nice lady who took my call to the Plumber. I highly recommend Ostlund.
Description of Work: I had a bad leak from our outside faucet. The faucet was replaced and the shut-off valve in the basement was also fixed. (It also had a leak).

 + 0 moreCalled them and said 'no hot water' - they had someone over in 30 minutes. My driveway was snowed in so he had to park on the street. Since he needed to wait to make sure heater was working - and I was paying for 1 hour 'minimum' - Matt shoveled my driveway so I would be able to leave for work after he finished. What a wonderful guy! THey gave me a break on the service call - since I was so close to their home base. What a help during such hard times!!!
Description of Work: Diagnosed my hot water issue - pilot light went out. Re-lit it, taught me how to do it myself. after lit, noticed water condensation - and checked to make sure the water condensation was related to having been out rather than due to faulty water heater (i.e., leaking).

 + -1 moreThe quality of the job is excellent. They came out the day I called and performed a significant amount of work. The prices seemed a bit high until I saw the finished job. I'm impressed by the attention to detail and how clean everything is. For example, because of how previous work was done in the basement, the concrete where the sink stands is uneven, the plumber, Ken, dug up washers from his truck to balance the sink. He was very professional and simply pleasant to work with. Hauling the chunks of concrete up a flight of stairs is a fairly nasty job, but Ken was efficient and fairly cheerful about it. Further, Wendy, who took my call was kind and quick to help. She called back exactly when she said she would and found someone to help us on short notice. She was even patient with my babbling when we spoke. On the whole, Ostland was quick to respond, polite, kind and efficient.
Description of Work: Removed an old concrete sink, replaced a leaking shut off valve, removed corroded and outdated supply valves for washing machine, and installed new laundry tub, shut off valves, and supply valves.
