Excellent. No problems and excellent preventative maintenance services.

Each time, they have gotten us scheduled in quickly, explained all our options - including cost & what the difference it might make down the road - and were professional & friendly. When it came to our major heater repair, they knew right away what the problem probably was, which saved time & tells us they keep up on their industry. The tech also found an issue we'd had in our property purchase inspection - w/o us having mentioned it (we'd forgotten) and fixed it in the course of his other work. (Cost I'm quoting was for the major heater repair.)

Mattawan Mechanical responded relatively quickly with my request for an appointment to service my inoperable central air unit two days later. Daymeon was the technician assigned to my request and showed up on time diving right into the work. He found the problem of a blown fuse and fixed it immediately restoring a very humid home's central air. In addition to this service, he talked about the new central air units on the market as well as answered my question about temperature zoning to my satisfaction. Overall his work was professional, respectful and outstanding. Although this was my first time utilizing Mattawan Mechanical, it won't be my last. In addition to making the appointment easy to schedule, they didn't require a first-time customer to produce a credit card simply to make an appointment as another local HVAC company did when I called. Mattawan Mechanical and its owner Tom Vaughn are professional, responsive, reliable, and well-versed in the latest technology. Their workmanship is high quality and they stand behind it. We know that if there are ever any problems with either materials or installation, Tom will make sure they are taken care of promptly. We are well satisfied with Mattawan Mechanical and recommend it highly.

Unless your air conditioning/heating needs can be installed in two days, your house is new constructions (preferably not entirely built so there are no walls to dealwith), and there are no difficulties or challenges, you will not want to wasteyour time with Mattawan Mechanical Services. I made an appointment with them, they sent out the owner?s brother-in-law (apparently not empowered to make decisions, but lectured me on what wonderful work his brother-in-law did on ?new construction?), and he declined to give me a bid. He arrived without a ladder so I loaned him mine. Stuck his head in the crawl space and complained that there was an attic fan which would interfere with his installation. I told him it could be moved. He was uninterested. I suggested he use the crawl space under the cottage. He reluctantly poked his head it (and not very far) and said it would take too much time and would be difficult getting the air handler in place. The job might take three days, and he was uninterested. He promised to give me a quote on another kind of unit but I heard nothing. He also promised to suggest a few companies that would be interested in my job. Ditto, he never responded. Mattawan wasted my time and was disingenuous. I hope you don?t waste your time. Don?t bother calling Mattawan if you have a house that is not new, don?t bother if your job is not simple, and don?t bother if you don?t have an hour to spend listening to their ?outside sales consultant? celebrate his brother-in-law's company.

Service is the key here! Tom and his team at MM have always been honest and fair with our work. We had another mechanical service company (one of the largest in the area) that assessed problems with our boiler (which heats the water that goes to our heat registers) and gave us estimates. Their assessment was that we should replace our boiler immediately due to high carbon monoxide or dioxide levels. We sought a second recommendation from Mattawan Mechanical. Tom told us that we only needed to change out a switch and showed us how the other company over estimated the CO2 counts. He told us we might need to replace the boiler at some point, but not at that point. 4-5 years later we did need to replace it, and MM gave us the best estimate on the new boiler, and did a great job, also bringing in the work below the estimate. When it came to servicing our hot water heater, Tom gave made a standard service call for the work, but he ended up spending 3-4 hours trying to figure out our problem, but then only charged us for one hour of service. Their team will shoot straight with you, and give you good work (follow up with good service) at a reasonable price. We always recommend MM to our friends.

Mattawan Mechanical did a great job. They showed up on time, cleaned up, and the work was done well. My wife even set up a video chat with them so that they could ask me questions about how i wanted things done while i was at work. They asked to video chat again when they completed the work to make sure i liked what they had done before they left. I would use them again.

Great experience. We wanted to use a local company. Tom came out to our house as soon as he could on the day we called without heat.... He told us that the furnance (0ver 25 years old) was no longer safe to use. He suggested a new one and while waiting for us to make the decision provided us with heaters that we used until the job was complete. We have an old house with Michigan basement which made the job harder than anticipated. The guys did a great job. They worked until it was installed. Tom arrived and helped as well to make sure the job was done correctly. We appreciated the extra warmth and definitely would use them again....

They didn't try to sell us something we didn't need - we will definitely use them again.

Instead of being intent on selling a new furnace Tom gave us an alternative of having the heat exchanger under warranty. (We just had to pay labor.)

I enjoyed working with this company. From the fast and friendly service when you call their office through the prompt and well done job at the house every thing was done as promised and at a very good price.

Home got hit with a bolt of lightning. The first thing we noticed was our garage door opener no longer worked. Later we discovered the furnace stopped working. I called Mattawan Mechanical, they came out the same day, had the parts on their truck and had me back in heat the same day. Because I had bought the extended warrenty (10 year) on my furnace and this was yerear 7, there was no charge to me.

The company was excellent to work with. Very knowledgeable and current. Thec performed services as requested well and even added extra screening to exterior vents to prevent future problems. Would definitely recommend this company for HVAC!

Tom and his team showed up precisely on time to do the job. They made sure to cover the floors through the house and were very neat and efficient. All the installation work is first rate. They worked through the day and finished the job as promised in one day. Our new Trane furnace and A/C is very nice and we are very happy with the installation, efficiency and looks of our new system. Easy to work with, prompt with estimate and answering questions. This was a new construction and they were always on time with their portion of the work. Tom was always available by phone or text, even for minor concerns. Their prices were right on with other companies overall but they install much better quality equipment. Will definitely use them again and highly recommend for anyone else!

The experience has gone very well overall. The technicians have always been polite, take off their shoes in my home even when I don’t ask them to, show up on time, do the job, and I’ve never had any problems with them!

I had some trouble getting the well drilled so they brought in the materials and iinstalled the drain system on the original installation day. Then they returned when the well was finished. The second time, they had a tight schedule, but they still took the extra time to replace my leaking hot water heater, which was unplanned. Both days, the first thing they did was put a drop cloth on the floor from the outside door to the basement door. The workers were all polite and appeared proficient. The work area was cleaned well, when they finished. The installation was very neat and professional looking. The price was exactly as a quoted plus the water heater. The only negative was that they didn't warn us before they turned off the water. This was a minor inconvenience. I would highly recommend Mattawan Mechanical Services,

They are very good, reasonable and will work with you any way they can. They do their work very good and if you have any problems after a year they are good about coming back out to help solve your problems. They give a senior discount and I will use them again in the future. They come in and do their job then clean up their mess afterwards. They are here when they say they will be.
